- Doug Williams didn’t play for the University of Tulsa but, he did play at Chapman Stadium for the Oklahoma Outlaws a USFL team that played there in the 80’s

I can promise you that seeing a game at the liberty bowl is a great experience. It feels really "close" , that's the best way I can describe the in-game feeling as a spectator.

Hopefully everything works out okay and USF gets their own stadium. They definitely deserve it, such a cool fan base
I’ve just went to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium this past season when Virginia Tech played against Tulane in the Military Bowl and it’s a really nice stadium.
The rain totally sucked but it was great to finally see Tech win a bowl game and make the trip a lot more fun. 😅
Also idk if you knew this but under the scoreboard where the tunnel is there a press box and it’s preserve for Rodger Staubach.

@@_WastedPotential the city has owned it for so long not that many upgrades but now that the university owns its Memphis can get money for everything.
Temple really doesn't have the land to build a stadium on their campus. They were in preliminary planning for a stadium several years ago but the NIMBYs shot it down. But they could play at the Linc indefinitely since it and the campus are on opposite ends of the Broad Street subway. So accessibility isn't an issue. USF, however, is long overdue for a stadium. In the late 2000s, when they were ranked as high as #2 and regularly drawing large crowds to Raymond James Stadium, they began planning a 50,000 seat on campus stadium. However, the program fell on some hard times and the stadium was scaled back to 35k, but with room to expand.
Yeah I agree USF is long overdue. I agree too the Linc works fine, I live 15 mins from Heinz Field and the Steelers and Pitt share the stadium just fine as well so I know it can work. However I do think a team having its own stadium brings a different experience. I mainly like thinking hypotheticals though, like if temple would have its own stadium what do you think would be an optimal capacity? 30-40k maybe?
@@_WastedPotential Old Temple Stadium (which was demolished in the 70s) was 30k so a new stadium would probably be about the same.

@@_WastedPotential They end up just saying Tulane stadium if they are scared of saying it wrong to Tulane fans. The funny part is when it first opened back in 2014 some of us few Tulane fans had a hard time pronouncing Yulman. If you like stadium histories Tulane has a unique one since 1893 they have had four stadiums and with one being the original home of the Sugarbowl, 83,000 capacity and then moved to the smaller superdome now to the newest Yulman. The first sugerbowl game in Tulane stadium was a Tulane victory over Temple in 1935.

It’s sad how far Rice has fell. Back in the day was one of powerhouse. The old days SWC will make modern SEC look like pee wee football league. It was insane powerful conference. Texas was one what killed SWC.
After SMU found its home in ACC for now the Rice is only former SWC team that have not return to P4 soon to be P3 (SWC, Big ten and big 12) level yet.

The Army football stadium is pronounced Mike key. Not the way you're saying it. The stadium is named after Dennis Michie a West Point graduate and first head coach who agreed to play Navy in 1890 at West Point. The game was played on the plain. Go Army beat Navy.
North Texas Mean Green is called Apogee Stadium. Or thats what Is says outside the stadium. I think the old one was DATCU Stadium.
Name was changed to DATCU after this most current season. But my sources could be wrong

He played there when he played for the Oklahoma Outlaws. I never mentioned that in the video though my mistake
I actually watched Doug play a game at Skelly Stadium with the Oklahoma Outlaws in the USFL days of the mid 1980s. The opponent that day was the Houston Gamblers & their QB was Jim Kelly who went on to NFL fame with the Buffalo Bills.

It’s separate in the title and description, I also put (AAC) in parentheses because I knew it may be confusing. Context brother man, it’s all of the venues in the AAC lmao
