I was in college in Florida. The plane left LaGuardia. It turned and flew over the East River and Manhattan was there out of my window. I took several pictures. Gorgeous shots. Later my Mom said fly in at night. So I did the night trip. The streets were Golden. Took a few shots.
Long approach showcasing the city nicely - the best I have seen. Steady camera work and assisted by the smooth early morning approach. The light was beautiful. Great job!
Thanks so much. This ended up being better than the reason I went down to NYC in the first place. Was THRILLED to get this perfect light, perfect approach -- and such great video!
@@anuragtiwari9171 Yes! I was going to say the same as well. But you did it for me. They were enthralled by what they saw and made all kinds of interesting commentary.
Too much magnificence to praise, from the crystalline clear air and that incomparable skyline to the autumn leaves and shadow of the aircraft on the landing, to your(?) child's commentary that "it looks like miniatures!" Stunning indeed.
I had that same view in 2010 flying from Columbus, Ohio. I was seated in back row in right rear next to a stranger. Just before take off, Flight attendant had me move up left front behind first class for weight distribution. It was awesome seeing the statue of liberty and Manhattan.
Gorgeous video! The weather couldn't have been more perfect. As a native Manhattanite, what struck me the most were the tall skyscrapers of downtown Brooklyn! As a resident of that borough from '87 to '90, I don't remember Fulton & DeKalb, Nostrand or Flatbush Avenues being that tall.
As a kid who grew up in Brooklyn in the 1980s and 1990s, the growth of Downtown Brooklyn has been incredible! You see why Brooklyn could stand on its own as a huge city. The growth in the LIC area has also been impressive!
Beautiful! I was in a holding pattern once and got to circle Manhattan three times. I had a window seat on the island side. Last time I tried to shoot out the window, a flight attendant told me to turn off my electronic device!
WOW ,nice. What a great view, and a clear day. You’ve got a steady hand. Most people would have phone turned vertically and wobbling all over the place. Good job 👍
Stunning video!! We left Jamaica,Queens for Cresskill in Bergen County New Jersey in August 1966..the difference was like night and day...Thanks dad for your WW-2 Navy service and 44 years US Postal service Manhattan Branch (RIP Dad )
This is perfectly filmed, with a beautiful view of NYC. Also, thank you for *not* adding music - it’s much better with the ambient sounds from the plane.
Man, that is a pure Perfection shot right there 👍. Perfect weather, perfect lighting, no clouds, your camera is not shaking and you took some serious high quality footage of the whole New York City and then some lol.
On Sept 12, 2006 my friends and I flew home from Delhi India into Newark. We landed predawn and the blue beans of light were still projecting up from Ground Zero. I wish someone would have had a camera going then. Great job on this one. Kids in the background add charm
Beautiful Photography , very nice & panoramic video. Could see so many Landmarks. Usually the other flights land from the Bronx side over the top of the white stone bridge
*Amazing* I have a unique perspective on this video as after seeing a few of these my actual bldg in Brooklyn is on the flight path. All of the videos cut off at about the same spot. This means that my bldg shows up exactly the same in each video, plus or minus 5 stories. The flight paths of these planes are amazingly similar especially when you take into consideration speed, direction and altitude. Somehow there is a flyway in the sky that the pilots can direct through. I'm amazed that it is such an exacting path that the planes all follow. I'm amazed that it varies so little.
I had exactly the same gorgeous view from a US Airways flight from Virginia to LGA in early September 2001. A few days later that view was gone forever. God bless America.
The eye gets tricked into thinking you're floating even when traveling at 400mph. Following the shadow cast upon the ground at around 3:30 and getting clearer as it lands gives you an idea of how fast these beasts are going even while slowing down to land.
@Phillip Banes Oh you're right! You said *nothing informative at all* in your first reply, and you were snarky. In your follow-up reply you said something useful. How about in the future making your first reply useful instead of snarky? (especially considering the original comment was not even remotely offensive). I'm still pretty sure you qualify as a "bro".
@Phillip Banes What is wrong with *you?* Why did you make that rude reply in the first place? When I see someone make a snarky reply to a good comment, I throw them a snarky barb to catch. Do you want to go on record claiming that your first reply was *NOT* rude?
That’s a lot of humanity cramped into such a small area. Pretty from the distance. And fascinating to have multiple cities and there skylines that close to each other. Frankly, these type of videos are the only way I would ever wanna see that area.
I thought this was an advanced flight simulator game for the first couple seconds but then heard all the conversation. The kids were having so much fun. Beautiful and incredibly sharp video! Thank you! Wow. "It looks like miniatures" was such a good line from the kid. 0:40
Absolutely Amazing and Magnificent. I have seen countless images of the "Big Apple" but, I have Never seen images quite like this! Well done indeed. (You should copyright this video)
nice video. living in lower Manhattan you see and Hear planes landing at LAG. You can really hear em when they're taking off from Newark! lots of times they fly up the westside!
Love the video. Children's observations precious and 💯. Love the shadow of the plane at final approach during touchdown. Spectacular aerial display of high rise buildings and river ! Great!
Thank you for the great view of the "big apple"! I hope to have this one sometime when I finally get to New York City. regards from Germany, Düsseldorf
I was just about to mention something like that. Last year i had a connection here (first time) and when we were landing i was a bit freaked out because it seemed like were were going to land on the water!
Sweet....A landing on runway 4 and at 4:15 (follow the shadow of the aircraft's nose straight back) you can see the Marine Air Terminal (an art deco masterpiece, where Pan Am flying boats landed "back in the day") in the background. There's a lot of aviation history at LGA.
Are they not landing there anymore? Whenever I'm in the area I always see several seaplanes flying overhead, assuming they're landing at LGA but could be headed out to Long Island instead.
@@NSUserName There's a seaplane base at 23rd St. and the FDR drive in Manhattan and another one up in the Bronx. LGA's Marine Air Terminal was built to handle Pan Am's flying boat clippers (Martin M-130 & Boeing B-314) back in the mid 1930's through WWII. Cheers...
Probably the best and clearest video I’ve seen of NYC from an airplane. What a beauty, thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much. ❤
NYC is a facade
It was soooooo clear it actually looked like a PC game

I agree! I was just there and took videos from my plane and not nearly as clear as this video. New plane?

Spectacular, just perfect start to finish. The aircraft’s shadow was the cherry topping.
Couldn't agree more 👏
...also the kids chatter in the background !❤️❤️ 😃

An example of a "stunning" video. Most UA-cam videos don't understand what that word means. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! Great job. Spectacular quality.
The kid’s narration is awesome 😂
Too much magnificence to praise, from the crystalline clear air and that incomparable skyline to the autumn leaves and shadow of the aircraft on the landing, to your(?) child's commentary that "it looks like miniatures!" Stunning indeed.
@pippylong No doubt! But none of that affects the postcard views. And that's some kind of achievement in itself.
The cute comments made by the kids makes this video even better!
The best video-recorded airplane landed, and the videos were so clear looks like a professional person recorded them.
thank u for recording! the excitement of landing in the energy of NYC is unlike anywhere!
The sound alone
From the engine gives me traveling goosebumps. Nostalgic and amazing view!
I had that same view in 2010 flying from Columbus, Ohio. I was seated in back row in right rear next to a stranger. Just before take off, Flight attendant had me move up left front behind first class for weight distribution. It was awesome seeing the statue of liberty and Manhattan.
Beautiful!! Thanks for the time stamps, too! That's great information.
What a clean video, the view your kid’s talking to you everything was perfect 👌
I’ve seen this on 2 occasions at night an both times wondered what it would look like in daylight, an now I know, thanks for sharing

Whats LIC lol
As a kid going to the Albany area a lot to see my grandparents I never got to go into NYC.
We got close when we would go see family in Fairfield CT though

Fantastic video! Not a bit of window frame or glass scratches. Great lighting!. Love NYC and love flying. I watched the video twice!!
Wow, the must beautiful video of an LGA approach I've ever seen. Great quality, No turbulence, no wing disturbing the picture... perfect, thanks!!
You weren't kidding with that title. These views are phenomenal
The Empire State Building has a new nickname: Shorty.:)
Or "miniature"
Beautiful! I was in a holding pattern once and got to circle Manhattan three times. I had a window seat on the island side. Last time I tried to shoot out the window, a flight attendant told me to turn off my electronic device!
Great video....I've been away from NYC for over 20 years now and grew up right near LaGuardia, thanks !
Me too, Astoria.

A pity that the city is such a leftist sewer.
Too bad!! ☹️
This is perfectly filmed, with a beautiful view of NYC. Also, thank you for *not* adding music - it’s much better with the ambient sounds from the plane.
A breathtaking video ! Superb panoramic views --- stunning New York City views. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful views. And I observe how the children are so expressive and articulate in enunciating their conversation. Delightful.

@Phillip Banes Oh you're right! You said *nothing informative at all* in your first reply, and you were snarky. In your follow-up reply you said something useful. More like 160-180 knots. 400 mph he wouldn’t be able to land and certainly not on a runway 7,000 feet long.
