I dont blame you for being a little nervous. The unknown will do that. I have confidence it will be a safe and fun trip. Happy New year! Ps. Cant believe you had to trash all your beautiful shells😢. Fair winds!
Happy New Year We Sail 💃🕺🏼💛🧡🩷 Looking forward to seeing your wonderful Adventures in 2025. 🎊🌈💜💚🩷🦘🦘🥂🍾🍻🍷 You are only a hope skip and jump from Australia we hope to see you guys here someday.😜🦘🦘😃
Welcome to NZ. I gather that you are well & truly here now. I was hoping to catch you all arriving in Opua but my new job had other ideas. I was lucky to be able to spend a little bit of time with Brook & Gary while they were here. It was them that gave me the head's up on who were all turning up. So gtate to have you all here. I hope NZ doesn't dissapoint. Keep up the good work 💪. SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
Thank you for the warm welcome and we’re so glad to be here! So far it’s been amazing and we have bought a van to do two months of traveling around, and Northland is first up!!
Ops, fat fingers. So, tall ships race in the Bay of islands on the 11th of Jan. It's an amazing event only held once a year. It's run from the Russell boating club. Hopefully I'll be out there on our boat. It has a very popular party vibe after the race.
Happy New Year! and all the very best to you as you continue to New Zealand. My only complaint is that we will not see Erica in a bathing suit for the next 6 months. Be safe, have fun, and I love your videos!
Groovy episode. Cool new crew with zero experience. LOL! So excited for all of you. I know you will do super, because after all, you two are super sailors. P.S., I am surprised you don't have an electric circle underwater sander for the bottom of the ship. Zatara has one. Grrrrrrrrrr! Giggles.
Haha yeah we have a few new faces on board! They are learning fast. I know it’s strange we got crew with little to no experience, but Erica and I are more than capable of doing this passage all by ourselves, so at very least they can help with night watches… HOPEFULLY 😬
Thank you, you too! Happy New Years! The Copper Coat is doing good, well minus that... but honestly it was the easiest thing to get off. Came off without any problems and kept off the big barnacles from growing. Copper Coat is not going to prevent complete growth but what it does is make it a whole lot easier. There has been minimal growth overall and when we do give our girl a little scrub it requires little effort, but leaving her for 6 weeks without any movement it was bound to have something.
Happy New Year from Maui. Looking forward to watching paasge vids and glad to know you made there safely in real time due to the IG/You Tube Space Time warp continuem….😅😅😅
Haha well done, nice notice LOL!! Ya I don’t know why I do that LOL- I make the check boxes, then erase the whole thing!! I guess it still bugs me to see the item, even if it’s checked off
How far South are you coming? The Marlborough Sounds are a safe haven and beautiful but rarely get visited by cruisers. Worth the trip if you have time. Wishing you a safe passage.
Hey thank you!! But (spoiler alert ‼️) we unfortunately are hauling the boat out for most our time here and splitting our time between boat work and van life…. You’ll have to just watch to see more 😉
so what is your verdict of the coppercoat??? Also, I'm assuming you're in NZ now, the Hauraki Gulf from Auckland north is one of the world's best cruising grounds.. and yes, you'll need your togs!! The Marlborough Sounds is also magical if you can get there in the summer... Phil
Hey thanks Phil, and the answer is that as of right now I’m really not sure- I really do not know what to expect… on one hand it was a lot of growth twice, but on the other hand, it did come off super easily, so maybe that’s the best we can hope for… looks like we will just have to watch it over the next year or more to truly know if it’s doing a good job
HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉! Thank ya'll for a Great video. Pele is still giving us a lava show. Shooting lava over 500 feet in the air ! Good times. Ooo, just one tip. Get a Hooker, rig. Hook it to your dive tank. And it makes cleaning the bottom of the Boat way easier a d faster. Ok, until next time, Aloha from your friends on the Big Island of Hawaii! Aloha and cheers 🍻
Haha BOTH!! And we have even splurged on an actual mold and mildew product which supposedly protects as well… we’ll see! But ya we use both, definitely seems like the bleach does a little better job but it’s just so harsh that we only use it when things are bad!!
Happy New Year and all, but, 6 months, no bikini footage? Really? No. I mean, really? Erica canilickulater (haha remember me?) New Zealand! As I'm half kiwi myself but living in UK. I'm begging, give her an extra special wwaarrrmm welcome, you never know your luck. Seriously though. Assuming you've all made it safely to New Zealand already, please let me wish you a safe onward passage. Beautiful story.
Ummmm….so you’re about to do one of the harder passages on the circumnavigation milk run, with a high probability of encountering a depression (maybe two) on the way, with higher winds and seas. So for help you bring one sailor who’s never been offshore, and a friend who doesn’t know how to sail and has never been offshore. I don’t get it.
All this is true, and I appreciate the confusion, but here’s the deal- Erica and I are more than capable of getting ourselves and our ship safely around the globe in anything but the very worst conditions, so anyone we bring along, however inexperienced, will only help us, even if it’s just with night shifts… that’s why we are okay with both of these guys not having open ocean experience
So, is destroying your food products, the hand carved wood decorations from different parts of the world, and killing a living plant that has healing juice (and I bet they have products that contain aleo and probably even the plants themselves, just to go to New Zealand? Sorry you two, but I wouldn't visit that country. Some things I can see because of hazards that may have been introduced in different foods, but all of your food products? Even foods staying on the boat, in the harbor, not going ashore?
We really want to respect the New Zealand ecosystem and we were very careful to follow their strict regulations for food and plant material. It’s a bummer but every country has their price and something that you will have to bend around, this is theirs…
another GREAT episode! Keep'm coming WE!
Thank you for the Old Year and Happy New Year.
So cool! Looking forward to watching the passage to NZ!!
Happy New Year! Looking forward to more awesome episodes this year!

I dont blame you for being a little nervous. The unknown will do that. I have confidence it will be a safe and fun trip. Happy New year! Ps. Cant believe you had to trash all your beautiful shells😢. Fair winds!
Thanks for the well wishes! I know, those shells were a bummer but we’ll get more!
Very cool, wish I could come.
Have a wonderful sail guys.

Luke from Sailing Songbird was cheering you guys on at 19:43 from the upper floor. Did you see him?
Oh ya, even hung out with him a bit and now he’s here in NZ!!
@@WEsail Ohh well I am so glad of that. I was hoping you connected and didn't miss each other. Great Video as always !!

Happy New Year from Las Vegas 🤙
Happy New Year to you too! What a great place to ring in the new year!
Prosperous 2025🎉. How is the CooperCoat working? The hull looked pretty nasty.
Thank you, you too! Happy New Years! The Copper Coat is doing good, well minus that... but honestly it was the easiest thing to get off. Happy 2025 from Utah
Oh our second favorite state!! Hi from New Zealand!!
Happy New Year... Question for Warren... How could you erase the fridge task instead of putting a check mark? lol... (on the white board)
Haha well done, nice notice LOL!! Ya I don’t know why I do that LOL- I make the check boxes, then erase the whole thing!! I guess it still bugs me to see the item, even if it’s checked off
Saw Parlay Revival do this same trip. Be safe.
Ya they had a heck of a trip!!
Oh man i'm ready now . Ok be safe guys
Haha will do!! Thanks guys! Happy new year
Love ❤

You need an electric under water oscillating hull brush. 🤷🏻♀️ lol 🫵🙂
I really do!!
❤❤
Love your episodes. I have been a subscriber for several years. I have one question that has eluded me since day 1 What is the meaning/origins of VA?
Means to Go! French word
@AprilHilton1 Thanks. Didn't take into account that Erica is French.
Hey Dave!! Ya April is correct, and it’s also same meaning in Spanish because we bought it from a fantastic Mexican couple
HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉!
Thank ya'll for a Great video.

Regarding cleaning mildew... are you guys team bleach or team vinegar ? 😄
Haha BOTH!! And we have even splurged on an actual mold and mildew product which supposedly protects as well… we’ll see! But ya we use both, definitely seems like the bleach does a little better job but it’s just so harsh that we only use it when things are bad!!
LOL NZ and AUS 2 stand alone nanny states. Enjoy :)
Compared to the corrupt over run criminal USA? You can keep it.😊
Haha yep
