#StarWars #Mandalorian #EasterEggs continue in #Chapter5 Mando goes to #Tatooine and encounter #TuskenRaiders. The #MosEisleyCantina is nearly deserted, but why? How has Jabba's death affected the wretched hive of scum and villainy? We explore why, and there are plenty of #BabyYoda memes too.

What did you think of the episode? Personally, I thought it was a little heavy on fa service, and I'm ready to see some new planets.
I have theory that person at the end is your mom
i wet myself when they entered the cantina.... what if... the cantina droid is in fact EV-9D9 recommisioned? :V... i mean.. the voice doesn't sound.. TOOOOOOO far off...

ScreenCrush Cad Bane maybe
I really liked the tuskan raider sign language. It's the first time we've seen something like that in Star Wars, to my knowledge, and it wasn't as ridiculous as Mando screaming like a raider.
tbh I was FULLY expecting it and the idea alone had me cackling before they started conversing
Lachlan Fanning yeah, that was really cool!
only other time we’ve seen Negotiating was with HK-47 and Revan in Kotor at the Tatooine point of the story.
and when Dooku gave Schmi Skywalker to the Tusken Raiders, which made Anakin emotionally unstable and leant him further towards the Dark side.
@@Fi_Sci_ Oh ok, neat.
Makes sense on how they sneak up on people like Luke. It’s a silent form of communication.
The mom joke actually got me this time
This is the way.
Same
This was the one time it didn't.
@@readysetbuild1993 Same.
I think Ryan Arey has "mommy" issues. 😄
Mando pulls the classic top gun "hit the brakes, he'll fly right by" maneuver.
The maneuver was in Battlestar Galactica first.
You Stein must head and officially my new best friend
How do flaps work in space exactly? There's no air... so...
I thought Luke did the hit the brakes and fly right by when being chased by biker scouts in Return of the Jedi first.
“Your going to do WHAT”
“I have a theory, and it’s probably not who you think..”
Me: “I swear if he says it my mom..”
Its actor Troy Kotsur.
The writers couldn’t think of a more badass alien name than “Werner Herzog” so he is just called The Client.
Watch, his name will Werneri Herzogo or something lmao
it's like in The Good The Bad and the Ugly where the main character is unknown the entire movie.
Warno Harzog sounds just about right.
@@SantomPh Technically Tuco calls him Blondie so at a minimum he has a nickname. Collectively The Good the Bad and the Ugly, A Fist Full of Dollars, and A Few Dollars More Clints Character is known as "The Man With No Name".
The chicken man.....
"how many references should we add to this episode? "
Filoni "all of them "
Boba DeLarge
Filoni: “yes”
20 million per episode....
200,000, with a million more well on the way
I love that man.
I know some people are upset with the "your mom" jokes, but I think they're a quirky hallmark. This one was perfectly set up and I didn't even see it coming. Well played, sir. Well played.
Yeah... I really thought that tusken raider or the dead bounty hunter is Simon pegg but nope....
Upset! Fuck them. I wait for it!
'Your mom' jokes actually have the longest historical trace in time for humans that I know of...the close second is the copious amount of drawings of dicks all over the pyramids in Egypt.
The mom jokes are 90% of why I watch these videos
Anyone upset by them, don't worry, your mom and I have a good laugh about them each time.
The mom joke gets me every time 😂😂😂
“Dammit Ben you cant go around calling Tuskens ‘sand people’!”
They find it offensive
Okay Boomer
The scene with the Tusken raiders looked cartoonish.
And I wish Vader had exterminated the Sand People entirely.
Well if they not raiding then they not raider.....
The Bounty Hunter in the dog fight with the Mandalorian is named Riot Mar and his ship is a modified Z-95 Headhunter
I was thinking about the Z-95 or the fighter the Mandalorians used (They appear in Clone Wars or Rebels i think)
@@cesarbadilla5106 they were in star wars the clone wars it was a prototype for the x-wing
I thought that the engines on the Z-95 were right against the body, not extended on pods a bit down the wings...
I was thinking the Headhunter as well
If it was a Headhunter the engines are too far out from the cockpit almost midwing. Could be a modified one for sure though.
They show Mando carrying around his rifle all through the first episodes in ideal close quarters terrain and then in the episode where he goes into ideal long range terrain he leaves the rifle behind. WTF Disney.
yeah...when they started out with those speeders i was immediately like "where's your rifle mando?"
They can't really bring in a disentegrated bounty :)) Just remember what vader said in TESB.
@@rokigan7515 You are right sir. I didn't think about that till now. Right on the money with that.
Same Idea here. You never know when you need it
The real question is: why doesnt he use the other weapons on his arsenal? At least another blaster pistol...
Pretty sure the speeder the mando rides on is the same model as the one Anakin uses in AOTC as he goes to the tusken camp
yeah
I really liked seeing them fly over the dunes on those
They're the Swoop racers, from Shadows of the Empire on the N64. Probably a readily available variant on Tatooine.
Manoffluff is it the same that maul used also?
@@TheLego4366 no
at 5:42 he says "this aint corellia" i think lol if i remember correctly. i watch with subtitles so this stuff doesn't happen
Yep. And it's not random. Corellia is a planet known for making ships, so it would make sense that it would have a reputation for having nice vehicles.
Corellia was originally the greatest industrial hub of the Empire. The Corellian-class Imperial Battlecruisers were supposed as the fastest of the fleet.
I thought he said “they’re from Corellia”, but now I’m just going to have to go back and rewatch. The entire series. Yay!!! Its just as good on repeat viewings, so any excuse to rewatch is a good reason to me!
Pretty sure the one that Dyn Jarren rides is technically a swoop bike, not a speeder bike. I use to have one that looked a lot like it.
Corellia is where the imperial fleet was built and other ships as well, not to mention it was Hans planet
Show of hands anyone else that involuntarily said “this is the way” after he said it
After "It is known" or the more catchy "so say we all", this kinda feels like a rip-off. ;-)
8:08 yeah I’m pretty sure that’s the wrong clip. The one you’re looking is just after Han’s “interrogation” to which Boba says “He’s no good to me dead!”
Apparently lore consistency is now called a “reference” or “fan service.”
This irked me as well
@@ogrehunter so its now only canon in star trek....??
@@BigBadjohn0x0 what is only canon in star trek?
Yeah I don’t know what he thinks Easter eggs are he keeps saying that what a species is that it is an Easter egg and he doesn’t include actual Easter eggs like in episode eight of season seven of the clone wars he didn’t include an actual Easter egg like how the trandoshan made the exact same noise as a Jurassic park velociraptor
Whole video I’m like
Remember my mom remember my mom
Dude ends up getting creative and tricking me again
Punk Rock Vixen
Adding the Simon Pegg clip from 1999 really brought the joke home. Love it!
It could be a Mof Gideon, Bill Burr's character, or Cad Bane!
Cad Bane would be really dope ngl. I just want so badly to know what happend to him after Clone Wars. the simple "He was still alive and doing contracts for the empire" doesnt satisfy me, he was just completly cut off in Clone Wars, and i was expecting him to be in Rebels but nope he wasnt there either...
So maybe Filoni will bring him here, since it's his character anyway...
Idk if this is canon but I think Bona Fett killed him in a standoff
@@SexedUpEddy It's not. unlike other unfinished episodes of Clone Wars, this one wasnt even an "episode" or even a script. it was just an idea/concept.
@@SexedUpEddy apperantly the only canon information about him post Clone Wars is that he was on couple Empire contracts, sometimes teaming up with Boba and that's really it
@TheCeilingFanCollectorHD Ah yes, why write your own comment when you can just copy paste from some shitty news site.
The MK rifle in this episode actually looks like its modeled on the Russian SVD sniper rifle.
Yepp, noticed that too.
It is, their researchers don't know jack about guns.
But "MK-14 sNipEr RoofLE used by NAVY SEALS" sounds so much cooler.
The SVD isn’t a sniper rifle. It’s a designated marksman rifle.
@@alifeoncechris The russians consider it so: "Sniper Rifle, System of Dragunov, Model of the Year 1963"
I think its a Z-95 at the start, the Xwings deadbeat dad
Headhunter? That's what I thought as well.
close, but doubtful. Z-95s always kept their engines very close or attached to the chassis/fuselage of the fighter. The engines on this ship are clearly in the middle of the wing. Could be a modified aka Disney headhunter?
My first thought was Z-95 too.
I think, rather, it was one of the other 857,346,345 models of ship in the galaxy.
That is not a Z-95. No way. More likely it's a IG-100.
I enjoyed your Proposition ads for droids and Tusken Raiders. Well done. Your content is worth the wait. And you got me with the Your Mom reference. I expected that you were going to say the Raider was played by Simon Pegg, even though his name was not in the credits.
7:23 *slow clap* Well played...
"That's your MOM" is why I'm here
What about the droid attack on the Wookiees?
Oh shit right, yeah I forgot about that. Send troops to kashyyyk immediately!!!
Can we start calling Baby Yoda “Untitled Princess Caroline Project 2: Tatooine PeeYousa”
Solomon Rivers Im down
Thats what Im calling it from now on.
Corellia is the place where Han Solo does the train heist and the speed bike escape in the Solo movie. Yes I’m a nerd
There are a lot of channels doing “Easter egg” or breakdowns of the mandalorian but this channel is my complete favorite of all the great details and breakdowns you don’t exactly see in the episode. The other channels that do reviews are so boring just basically explain the episode. Thank you Screen Crush⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The nav map looks like the meditation skill tree in JEDI Fallen Order and what about the two suns reference?
The sniper is actually (very) “clearly” modelled off a Dragunov SVD.
My favorite thing about The Mandalorian is how they respect the Star Wars universe and have been making things that have become trite and silly, scary and intimidating again.
The "chicken walkers" became a terrifying death machine, a single Tie fighter became a huge obstacle, a few stormtroopers are a real threat.
Nothing feels like fodder or a nuisance... each threat is taken seriously and we really get the opportunity to understand how the Empire struck fear and took over a galaxy. In every other piece of Star Wars media it's just a quick 'pew pew' "woo hoo!" and a laugh.. or or Stormtroopers tripping over eachother, falling off of things, and being killed without even looking at them.
I really enjoy the more grounded and scary galaxy the mandalorian has created.
Anyone else think that Baby Yoga’s cry when waking up sounded a lot like Kenobi when scaring off the Sand People in A New Hope?
“I have the high ground” Master kenobi
The phenomenon when a famous person says a “quote” that is one of the oldest understood tactical advantages in the book and has probably been uttered a near infinity of times, but they are attributed with the coining of the phrase. Le sigh.
Remember when Darth Maul had the "high ground".
@@good-questions "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away" He said it first. lol
@@CaptWesStarwind But was he speaking metaphorically? the high moral ground?
russianwolf1972 yeah... uh? Two things, that particular phrase is in a certain way “unique” EXCEPT that it’s a SLIGHT variation on “once upon a time.”
5:42 “What did you expect? It ain't Corelia.”
Yep! I thought it was easy to understand what he said there
I always look forward to seeing these videos. That “your mom” joke was a surprise, but a welcome one. Keep up the good work, Ryan.

“Your mom”
No mention of Baby Yoda doing the s ream like Obi Wan did to ward off the Tuskins
What do you mean? What part?
@@missymotors when he first walks out of the ship in the hanger
or the boba fett radar sound played right at the beginning of the end scene of chapter 5 which was also played in boba fetts cameo in A New Hope...
Jay Holmes I always assumed it was the tuskens trying to scare obi and Luke . Nice observation.
@@kadennewman9225 so you think that was fett with the spurs? Well it is tattoine right🙂 I'd lose my shit if it was him
I love when he's like "NOPE!" lol It cracked me up this episode, it had humor but ended... Evil :(
I really enjoy your videos not just because they are done very well but because you showcase Easter eggs that aren't super obvious. I also really enjoy your sense of humor as well. Thanks!
I believe the fighter in the beginning is a Z-95 Headhunter, what the rebels used before switching to the more advanced X-wing. A lot of freelance pilots and bounty hunters used the ships as well, so it would fit right along with that scene.
There’s a well-known mandalorian aversion to droids, not sure if it’s because of his personal trauma or his personal trauma aligning with the opinions and attitudes of the mentors who led him into this adopted way of life
I never heard that before. Where is that from? (not arguing, just curious)
I think they bike scene is a nod towards Anakin when he went to look for his mother and he slaughtered the village in episode 2. As Anakin slaughtered them like animals and mando makes peace with them.
I thought the same thing, the speeders they used looked very similar to anakins in AOTC
thanks for cracking those eggs for us dude!
out of all the video breakdown channels (i've watched too many) this one is by far the best. keep up the good work man. just leave my mom alone!
I believe this starfighter chasing mando was a z-95 headhunter
i think they only have 2 reactors
Yea they do. It looks similar but it’s different
5:43 He said "This ain't Corellia."
8:07 Wrong scene.
Really enjoy this serious of UA-cam vids. Thanks Ryan.
That Simond Peg your mom set-up was perfectly done in my opinion. LMFAO!😂😂😂
The ship was probably a headhunter, early xwing
That fighter could be a fighter that in Legends was called a Headhunter.
That was my first thought. Bounty hunters used those if i recall
the Incom Z-95 Headhunter
Predecessor of the X-Wing
I don't think it's The Z95 Headhunter, it looks more like a Liberator from Star Wars: The Old Republic Video game.
It’s definitely Boba Fett - same sound when he walks. Check the dining room scene in Empire right before Han tries to shoot Vader. 😎👍
These videos are really good, keep up the good work!
It's most likely Moff Gideon at the end, there's only three episodes left for the character development, having Boba Fett appear would be too distracting, but you never know.
Cad Bane.
@@poopsanchez6449 A distinct possibility, but it may still be Boba Fett who might be The Unexpected Enemy in episode 8, the clue is that familiar boot spurs sound.
7:32 in no way this could be MK14. By the look of the frame of the gun it's Most likely a Soviet SVD, or it's Bolgarian/Chineese Clone. I wish they showed it more because it's a rare occurance to see a cold War era gun in SW.
You got me again with my mother! I told myself I’d see it coming! Blast you!
Great job once again. I always check your Easter egg video first.
The first thing that poped in my head when I heard the "ching ching" in the end scene was Cad Bane to my knowledge he never died and there was the unfinished episode where he did but it cannon that he is still living
Its*
Can Bane I live action would need it's own series. It'd be so badass that people would forget all that space&magic mumbo jumbo.
Didn't occur to me but my son instantly said Cad Bane. Love that idea.
Bruh, just finished watching the episode and saw this on my notifications, wow
DAMNIT!!! Ryan you're so good at "your mom" jokes
I love the public service announcements 🤣🤣🤣
The MK rifle is modeled after the dragonav not the m14ebr
You forgot to mention that when Mando is communicating with the Tuacan Raiders it's a call to the disney classic, Davy Crockett communicating with the Natives
I noticed in one scene in Mando where he rounds a corner in an alley, and propped up against the wall was the nubbed pipe used in the trash compactor scene in New Hope. Minor detail, but it stood out to me.
I loved the episode and all of the callbacks. It was awesome!
What’s an S-Wing?!
Oops
ScreenCrush you can fix it in the Special Editions
seems you have forgotten an easter egg. Even without having seen "the Holiday special" I know of the Boba Fett animated segments and in one of them he rides a dewback. The shot and perspective was re-imagined here. BTW: Toro said that the Speeders were not top notch. what do you expect. this is not Corellia. He means that this is the "construction planet" for space ships and probably the latest Sandspeeders as well.
Robert Madsen He rides a brontosaurus. Or I guess a “space brontosaurus”
You have my heart with the reference to Bright Eyes (band), hahahaha.
You are by far my favorite reviewer man. Keep it up! :)
Can I just say it really bothers me the mystery character has spur sound effects but for the life of me I can't see spurs on their boots
Could be anything else on his/her body. Chain? Metal clasps? Anything, really.
They did that with Boba Fett in the OT. It's really clear to hear when Luke is watching him on cloud city. It's meant to make the character seem more like a western gunslinger.
I honestly thought that was mando going back to pick her up bc in every episode you can hear the spurs on him...
@@nathanrock8107 oh man I feel so dumb. I never noticed the spur sound.
@@Deadwolf27 I noticed it the very first episode, I was like 'oh ok they want to reinforce the western style'....
The shot of mando on the dew back was an exact recreation of one of the promo photos fir a new hope in 77 with a stormtrooper in the dewback even down to the shot angle - was in the press kit and the novel so an extra Easter egg there - as to the episode was fun but more a fan service filler fir me - didn’t really add to the character or advance the story with the exception of the final minute
Very well done video in a short period of time. Also, the mom thing go me again.
You are the Best. I look forward to every video you make.
The person in the spurs is actually Scooby Doo
The ship that bounty Hunter was flying at the beginning of the episode might be a Z-95 Headhunter. and that's mysterious character at the end of the episode might be Boba Fett based on sound cues
No way. A Z-95 does not have engines placed on it's wings. More likely a IG-100.
@@starcontrol2 IG are not ships, those are the battle droids like IG-88 and IG-11
@@Zipzeolocke yeah, the IG-100 Magnaguard Rogue-class Starfighter. Sorry I wasn't more clear about that. At least those droids are the only things I've seen pilot that kind of starfighter until now. I assumed it was designed for them, but I have no idea if that's true. You can see Magnaguards flying them in the Clone Wars movie.
I thought I was the only one who caught onto the blank slate in the sky Easter egg. amazing. the amount of detail or lack thereof makes me happy.
I was entirely ready for him to tell me that the mystery character at the end was my mom.

"This ain't Corellia"
You missed one, droid with lots of wheels, wall-e head that points a stick. This one was seen in a cutout scene from "a new hope".
Not only is Most Eisley cantina no longer a bounty hunter hub, it also now allows droids! Hooray for galactic integration!
I am guessing that the mystery character is going to be revealed to be Howard Stern!....makes the most sense for it to be and honestly, why not Howard Stern?!?
The mysterious stranger is from the planet Hor, the strangers name is Yur Mohm.

• Samuel L. Jackson (Marvel: Nick Fury / Star Wars: Mace Windu)
• Lupita Nyong'o (Marvel: Nakia / Star Wars: Max Kanata)
• Benicio del Toro (Marvel: The Collector / Star Wars: DJ )
• Natalie Portman (Marvel: Jane Foster / Star Wars: Padmé)

“Lucy, joo got sum splain’in to do...”
2:44 HA! I WAS RIGHT!!!! When I first saw her, from a distance, I thought she was Sigourney Weaver, but realized she wasn't when she walked closer to Mando.
NOW I KNOW; I was right for thinking "Sigourney Weaver", the wig Amy Sedaris is wearing is a tribute to one of the roles that Sigourney Weaver played! :D
I thought the gunslinger was he who we didn't see in the closing scene, the sound of spurs and all.

Keep up the excellent work, love your work ScreenCrush.
At the end that is Mando he has the exact same battle damage on his right thigh plate and he also came to Tatooine with no money, but somehow at the end was able to dump out a bag full of credits. That scene was just showing the audience that of course Mando didn't just leave that huge score, he knew Toro would wait for him anyway because he had figured out who he was.
