I think it has been a defining characteristic of G2 in pretty much every Game(as in game title) and every era, G2 always chooses players with the greatest potential, but players that also have low lows
And bodied the last Major winners outsiders and beat up vitality. This was an impressive run. They didn't go through scrubs they went through the top teams in the world.
This video feels like it’s more about Hooxi versus G2’s win as a whole…M0nesy was absolutely amazing this event while Hooxi and Niko stayed at the bottom of the boards. I think it’s great they won, but it wasn’t like Hooxi was the biggest reason. Regardless, definitely a great win for them, happy for the players, and excited for m0nesy to possibly get top 10 on HLTV 2022 on his rookie year!
Ultimately Hooxi is the one who makes the calls, generally chooses positions for players to play, not all the time obviously, but yeah also gave M0nesy the freedom to move around. I think he's a pretty dynamic igl who knows when to call and when to let the game flow, so I do think Hooxi was indeed a big part of G2 success.

Hooxi definitely had impact rounds where he got frags, worked as anchor and also his calling was good. Fragging is good, but even they need to be positioned by someone who is reading an enemy.

It was not firepower that G2 lacked for the past three years but a good IGL who could read the enemy and get the most of its talent. Next and Hooxi brought G2 to top but Hooxi succeeded to bring the trophy. Everyone expects Niko and Monesy to carry the team, but they too need support from others.
Blast is a tournament organizer and this World Finals is probably the biggest tournamrnt they organize and maybe the hardest to get to, but I'd say a Major is the closest to worlds in LoL
Majors are csgo's equivalent to worlds. This tournament (blast world final) is basically MSI just at the end of the year. Tournaments happen much more often than in league, simply because they don't follow the regional split system. The world final (aside from majors) is one of the biggest tournaments of the year cause qualifying takes place throughout the entire year, so it's the best of the best in one last tournament.

As much as I hate HooXi for dragging m0NESY's prime performances into the ground by bottom fragging their tournaments and calling like an idiot, I really wished his dad could've seen this moment of triumph. He played the tournament of his life, that much is for sure. May he continue and rewrite his CSGO legacy.

For example, I distinctly remember a Mirage game where m0NESY had barely any setup at all and just started running a clinic on the enemy team, dropping a 30 bomb IIRC, and then they lost key clutches and eventually the map. HooXi, as per usual, had single-digit kills. What was most frustrating was m0NESY's webcam which showed him tilting like crazy every time his team failed after he got an impactful multikill only to still lose the round. This is a running theme in any m0NESY-led game or whenever HooXi has sub-1.0 rating for the map. Not to mention, HooXi calls for himself more than he does for m0NESY who just does his own thing most of the time.

But recently m0NESY's ratings have been at an all-time high and Hooxi's calls were so good (especially against Faze and Liquid this recent tournament). There absolutely has been matches where he looked bad in the beginning but I don't think it's justified to still label him as a bad caller when he's already worked so hard to improve. But I agree, I wish his dad could've seen him win as well.
