- My friends… he’s finally done it. NiKo won Cologne. Sure, it wasn’t a Major but I’d argue it’s literally the next best thing.
Niko got to be the one to sing CSGO’s final swan song, winning one of the most prestigious trophies in esports before we take the first step into the new era of Counter-Strike.
There's only one question left… are we ACTUALLY done with CSGO now?

What most people seem to be missing is that NiKo literally had the best grand final performance of his career (feel free to look up the stats), which is a big deal, as he was known to choke in the most important matches rather often.

Between that, the Hooxi ladder shot (and everyones response to it), some of the absurd banter and plays from the group stage, the crowd and their shenanigans, just an absolute top-tier show.
Still would have loved having Scrawny and Launders casting, though i know im in the minority there, but everyone did a great job.

@@turbors Sure, hooxi got his moments and I see his strengths. But those 4-7 total kill maps from him have to go. You can play with Nik0 and m0nesy whom are racking up most of the kills but having 5 kills in 28 rounds can kick you out of tournaments pretty quick.
@@bartterp88 its a great point and i can agree to an extent. he makes a lot of plays for trades and executions alongside providing buys for his fraggers. Everyone can always improve and not die but i think he is already very talented.
@@bartterp88I agree. He didn't make the great amount of kills. But somehow, the kills he did in the four maps were mostly very important kills.
m0nesy went for hunts and lost them and during the first map had a lot of no calorie's kills, which still were good but not as important a lot of the times. But they noticed and he pretty much changed that during mirage.
hooxi had almost only important kills. Yes he's not as good as niko or m0nesy, but he's still very good and more important a very good IGL. Constantly motivating his team, calming them down so they don't choke and calling good strats.
Ence is the real deal. Anyone still calling them a "mid team" doesn't know what they're talking about.

CSGO will be around for some time even after cs2 releases. Once they release cs2 for larger audience there'll be more bugs/improvements needed so events already planned will surely be in csgo is what I feel

nah not really. Next major is confirmed cs2, so all tournaments beforehand will be held on cs2 for pros to get comfortable
Just a reminder that Heroic did not deserve to be in the playoffs. Not after they nearly got 2-0ed by TheMongolz and could've lost against Monte. Actually now thinking about it....they legit would've likely bombed out of the group stages if both TheMongolz and/or Monte didnt choke.
Mentality is one of the most important things in a tournament especially in ko matches so ofc Heroic deserved playoffs.

For ALL of you who thought that G2 Dont deserve this final due to Ence choking.. Stop…. And here’s why i think G2 deserve it.. Ence didn’t choke.. in paper.. G2 is arguably has the best individual firepower along with faze ( Twistzz, Robz , Broky .. )… so if your going to ask 5v5 pure no strategy just pure 1v1.. G2 will win.. however.. Ence play-style is to let their awper get the early aggressive peak.. then start playing smart.. thats how they get to the final round.. get that momentum disturb your opponents mentality.. hit hard….. As A g2 fan.. and i love analyzing teams… G2’s playstyle is to let one of their player pop off.. to see which player is currently in the zone and let that player get in the best place to frag…which is why.. if u notice… somethime.. when no one can’t respond.. kinda lose momentum.. however.. if they are in a mood.. especially niko or monesy … no chance.. their the best in the world….. however.. first. I was so happy that I was able to watch Astralis vs Heroic and c9 vs Vitality. C9 although they lost both maps played incredibly well. It was pure hype in there. Astralis vs Heroic was soo good. Seeing dev1ce live on stage and seeing the masterclass the whole team gave was just crazy awesome.

Idk why it isnt. Same for Kato. Theres plenty of other esports that have their "majors" like CSGO, usually one for each season, but treat the IEMs as same tier or even a tier above. SC2 comes to mind.
My best guess is its down to business deals or something.

Sadly ence won vs vitality. G2 vs VITA/C9 would have been so much better. Ence choked in the finals.

Ence is a good team to upset very strategic teams like C9 and Vitality, but G2 had the most individual firepower out of any team in the tournament

ence did really well against vitality, def looked like they should be going to the finals, but then when they got there they played bad
Ence choking in the finals is a misconception. They didn’t “choke” in the finals. G2 simply shut them down hard. Majority of gambles/calls were going G2s way and they also fought back with firepower when they didn’t make the right decisions. They were unplayable that night, had nothing to do with ence not showing up. In fact, ence actually pulled a lot of clutches they shouldn’t have won with individuals and snappi was peaking like crazy on anubis
everything except the finals. Ence was so bad, the final was such a let down. Sunpayas is a fraud with less kd than hooxi.

Swani with insane tactics, hooxi with insane calls and plays ( top fragging faze, and vitality in vertigo), hunter as usual helped a lot with fragging, JKS was the best anchor, basically a whole team effort and all the roaster played good which got them the trophy, not just two players efforts

cs2 is coming only as beta this summer so its safe to assume the first event on cs2 will be at the end of fall or even next year

G2 are the best team in the world player for player on their best day. They've been plagued by some inconsistency this year, but if they can carry this Cologne form into CS2 they will be one of the very best

Cologne and Katowice are the same kind of tournaments being an “ESL Championship Event” in their Pro Tour. Winning Cologne is basically like winning Katowice and vice versa. It is better they aren’t the Majors so there’s more tier 1 tournaments in the calendar. Katowice and Cologne would also be hard to make it as Majors since they’re the 2nd event in every calendar season. It is still the 2nd best accolade to a Major (except the IGS).

UCL is the greatest tournament for football (I guess world cup is way up there too, but I personally like club football more), the majors are the greatest tournaments for CS. I think you can make the conclusion here. Cologne I guess would be like winning La Liga or Premier League? Still pretty hard, but I think most players would want to win the Champions League or the Major.

@@SATORI_111 i don't know for how long you have played/watched, but the sounds in the game give of so much information that matters when the information is properly found. I find that too much noise from the crowd feeding through in the viewers audio contracts from the viewers experience and understanding of what's going on. The recent trend of loud crowds is one I'm not fond of, just look at what happened at some tournaments cause people couldn't behave and be respectful to the game/players.
I don't want it completely out as I do think it adds some of the feel I just don't think it's necessary for it to be heard over the casters/game.

I think it wasn't intentional. In the hype of the moment, I think Swani did not expect for him to lift the trophy. He is too thin, and that trophy is too big and heavy. They almost dropped it. I know we should always at all times respect national flags, but you gotta put your shoes on other people sometimes. It's not the end of the world bruh

I was there in person and it was a very mid experience. I mean I enjoyed it, arena was great but crowd was very quiet compared to Katowice. Also the tournament itself didn't have that many moments and great clutches or comebacks, and all the matches outcomes were pretty predictable and games were one sided in the most part.
