@yGLeviathan Through their picks, how they play the jungle and especially how they play their bottom-lane. Griffin, TL, SK-T and many more have all gone on record and said G2 influenced them in how they're practicing team-comps and play-styles. It's the same reason why LCK for so many years set the meta. The succesful play-style will be analyzed and understood, and then you will either play towards countering or mastering it.
Every team that wins the most recent international title changes how the game is played. Going into Worlds last year, everyone wanted to be like RNG. Going into MSI 2019, everyone wanted to play like IG. It's just a cycle and will be the same for G2.

The western team played their own style during the regular season and as soon as it goes to worlds, they tried to play like skt and failed hard. Now that they play their own style international, everyone has adapt to them and finally they can play on their conditions. I think thats the main gap for the best teams of eu/na.
Not really. What is more important is that the "control meta" that dominated professional League has been evened out. This MSI G2 was able to play weird picks like Pyke top and simply win despite heavier scaling on SKT's side. But don't forget SKT still pushed it to game 5. With an entire season to figure things out, Worlds 2019 will be the true test to see if Western teams can close the gap. I blame Invictus losing to TL squarely on a lack of preparation. They completely looked past TL, and basically spent all their time preparing for G2 and SKT. TL for their part was focused entirely on beating Invictus. Which translated into the shortest series ever in international tournament when G2 3-0'd them. NA has performed so poorly historically that I think people forgot they are still a major region. I switched from league to dota maybe 6 yrs ago, but I never understood why Riot never addressed the region gap by just having more international tournaments. The reason why the gap between teams at the international level in dota isn't too big is because they get to play against each other frequently and make each other better, while still having their own distinct styles.
I am so hyped for the next worlds. G2 is playing amazing. Invictus is out for revenge. Skt is playing peak league of legends atm and they want that crown back.
frosk says "survive longer than Fnatic at worlds" and it just reminds me that everyone called fnatic terrible after they lost worlds. They got second place in the world. That ain't so bad
It's not that being second is bad, it's more how they lost against IG to be honest(fastest final in a World championship and they didn't play as well as group stage-quarters-semis Fnatic, as Fnatic took a game off from IG at Group Stage and they were first in their group If I remember well).
Its the same like Liquid in Final its nice they get there but they lost the hunger to win after semifinal and you can see it. Im self european fan but i expected a better figth from fnc at worlds as also from liquid at msi.

The thing is, people praise Khan so much but all he plays is toplane bullies like kennen and jayce. pyke is a counter to that cus he just soaks up all the poke and stays healthy, basically making pyke a counter to khan. Literally any pro top laner can win toplane matchups by picking kennen or jayce into melee's. Did Khan even play anything else other than those 2 and maybe neeko?
@@neeko708 agreed. Skt's coach really needs to step up because almost all their drafts are really bad and skt's macro in the early game is horrendous which is what all the teams that've won against them so far capitalise on and snowball the game such that skt cant win anymore without their occasional game changing teamfight. But besides that theres also the fact that khan is pretty subpar as far as a Korean player goes. The only games he has done very well so far are mostly when hes on either riven and fiora, much like all the soloq one tricks u see all over. He also doesn't even really synergize well with the team honestly. I've always thought that they should really swap him out for another top laner and skt might see a comeback as one of the top teams.

I mean, the only reason why NA sucks at MSI cause TSM was never capable at international play, only focusing on home turf wins. Clould9 was always the international hope in worlds (Just like this year).
Well not really rules... more like trends (rules sound catchier though). First of, every time you had a "super" team anywhere it turned out to fail horribly. Second, that is arguably more of a rule, but they do not play standard meta, they play Pyke ADC with mage toplane and assassin mid, while having some obscure off meta jungler and it just works for them.
Just the irony how c9 and Fnatic were about to win and had losses last year, so as a result both teams' mid laners switched to the "powerhouse" teams in their region (Caps moving to G2 and Jensen moving to TL) and both Fnatic n C9 brought in academy/rookie players who are Nemesis and Nisqy as their new mid laners
idc what the haters say, g2 spiced up league of legends big time. The "doing whatever they want" thing is working so well, i think in a way it teached everyone that you dont have to be a complete meta slave to win and in that aspect, correct, they changed league of legends

Yeah but it was pretty clear Liquid beat Invictus because IG completely looked past their competition. Ning, Jackeylove, and Baolan played several tiers below their performance in the group stage. Thus I think IG didn't prepare at all against TL, especially since NA is notoriously bad at international events.

Video title: 'The Superteam that Broke the Rules and Changed League Forever'
Expected video content: 20 minutes about the rise of 2019 G2 and their achievements.
Actual Video content: 'Is the gap between East and West closing? Let's discuss it using G2 and TL as examples, and give them half the video each despite the fact the video title is clearly talking about only G2'.
trueeee
its still a banger watching the old g2 smashing just everybody. This Meta was so fun to watch
You guys go crazy with these videos.. the editing, the music, the story. I got goosebumps watching this
Amazing work guys
Yeah, and it makes it seem historic despite the fact that it was only like a month ago.
Noah Lee it WAS historic. This is probably the best MSI in League’s history. We saw the defending world champions and the greatest team in history get beat by two teams from the West. Doesn’t get much better than that from a viewer standpoint.
@@jacobwilske5665 You're right, maybe "seem historic" wasn't the right phrase since it really was historic... I think I meant more along the lines of "so epic that it seems like a legend from a long time ago" -esque vibe despite only being a month back?? IDK, kinda hard to describe
and they are incorrect to give na even a 1% chance to beat eu internationally na has never beaten eu or even done better than eu
Noah Lee I know what you mean
I'm pretty sure the team that changed how league was played is Moscow 5.
They did, now G2 is doing it again. There are plenty of similarities between these two teams.
Moscow five more like Moscow no longer alive. Hehexd FBI gotem good
@yGLeviathan Through their picks, how they play the jungle and especially how they play their bottom-lane.
Tuffie Tuna pretty sure whoever adopts Nubrak Teemo support middle is going to change how league is played. Kappa

Thumbnail Preview: Team liquid
Me: .
It really should have been "Superteams"
@@RiotBrosGaming No "superteams broke the rules" its only 1 superteam that flex picked and changed LoL in MSI 2019. That is G2. TL had no answer in the drafts.
@@lukemifsud7219 Okay, did you watch the same video as me. Because as far as the title and content of the video, I assume the rule broken was that western teams dont beat eastern teams. Also, G2 isnt the only team flexing picks, they are just doing it to a higher degree (and arguably to a dumber degree).
@@lukemifsud7219 ig did it first..... TL just played worst against g2.

Great content, but the title didnt seem to match. The focus wasnt on G2 and what they did to change the way the game was played.
Exactly
In bird culture we call this: a clickbait
Thats the thing they didn't change the way the game is played its still played the same way but when g2 plays they force the enemy to play their game they did make pyke top meta tho and TL did that ith lux
@@isaiahmorris9197 tl didnt to it with lux lol. Kr made lux support a thing, and even lux mid wasn't jensen's idea but froggen's.

But would their superteam beat the 95-96 Bulls???
or the 85 Bears???
Or 2010 Barcelona?
Prob depends if they play League or BBall :P
Or the 2012 Moscow Five?
Hell nah bruh, noone can best the US in sports. We may not be the smartest nation, but we have the best bred athletes. I guess interbreeding works!
I doubt the same mistake will happen at worlds.
@@jyashin If there is no tank meta korea and china blows and i say it here and after worlds end come back here to like this comment if this will happen. G2 and second slot EU team with probably Kikis on their jungle role will play the final at the worlds 2019. xd

"For the double, for the ace, for the baron, *for the base."*
cutting out the ending bothers me more than it probably should. I beginning to think that Quickshot is a rap god
I switched from league to dota maybe 6 yrs ago, but I never understood why Riot never addressed the region gap by just having more international tournaments. The reason why the gap between teams at the international level in dota isn't too big is because they get to play against each other frequently and make each other better, while still having their own distinct styles.
Watching this after G2 gets to the finals, then proceeded to get 3-0 by FunPlus

IG is looking bad in LPL they might now make worlds
frosk says "survive longer than Fnatic at worlds" and it just reminds me that everyone called fnatic terrible after they lost worlds.
@@aleblasco39 They just weren't the same class as IG, they didn't play worse. They had a free pass all the way to finals, with 100T, Grex, EDG, and C9.

and here we are 2 years later with the final 4 teams in Msi which had 2 Chinese teams, 1 Korean team and 1 European team.
G2 showed SKT that game on bot lane starts since min 1 not since min 20 and that's what made them win, also pyke top was yikes xd
@@neeko708 yeah, basically evrything from Hashinshin hate list is in his champ pool xd

I hope we get to see more of Fnatic this coming worlds, maybe SKT will rise up and reclaim their throne, G2 might dominate and win it all, Liquid is going strong and C9 or TSM might as well give a good performance, and what about the other rising Chinese and Korean teams? That G2 v SKT series was INSANELY FUN TO WATCH
I must've missed it, but how were the rules broken?
Well not really rules... more like trends (rules sound catchier though). First of, every time you had a "super" team anywhere it turned out to fail horribly. Second, that is arguably more of a rule, but they do not play standard meta, they play Pyke ADC with mage toplane and assassin mid, while having some obscure off meta jungler and it just works for them.
basically its not a rule as it means, it's the rule about asia always win international events, they explained it onto the video.
