Nice size for those who want a smaller G-Shock. The monotone color really takes a lot of the character out of the Square. It would be cool to see one with the same colors as the 5600, like it got shrunk in the wash.
I have a similar sized wrist, and the original square feels completely fine. I only remember about it's thickness when I wear my CasiOak, which is a bit slimmer. But the variety is a good thing, of course.
Best UA-cam channel ever!! Sorry for my bad English.. I'm a fan from Brazil.. I also love Casio watches..I own 4 Casio's . Casio MW 240 is the cheapest and the most beautiful watche ever made. I wish you were my friend. British accent are the best accent in the world.
taking the shroud off is very useful when you need to easily access the stopwatch or timer buttons. With the shroud on, you have to hook a finger's nail on to the button, which can often be a hit or miss operation.
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I suppose it would be more useful for someone like a runner who has to stop the stopwatch quickly after crossing the finish line etc. The question is: does the watch still fully function as a gshock with the shroud off? And can new shrouds be bought seperately? I think that would be a good seller for casio. The shroud should be inexpensive and users could easily chop and change the look of their gshocks!
Casio also has a few CasiOak (GA2100) derived models that are smaller, the GMAS2100 series with a resin shroud, and the GM-S2100 series with a metal shroud. They are full-spec G-Shocks with 200m WR, world timers etc. but smaller. About the perfect size for my 6.5"/167mm wrist.
Oh dear. I was contemplating finally getting a Casio Royale or the A168, and along you come with this! The 5600 is my daily at work, but this could be a new weekender. Quite tempting, indeed.
Just picked up one of the last remaining GMD-W5600K-9JR mid sized 45.7mm x 40.5mm x 11.9mm 5600s from the G-Shock store. This one comes with the 3593 module so does cost a couple more £££ for the extra features. It fits very comfortably on my 7” wrist and the display very readable with the 3mm of reduced size :-)

It’s great G Shock is offering a classic Square at a smaller size (and without the Baby G plastered across it) but that backlight doesn’t do it for me. Such a shame it doesn’t come with the electroluminescent backlight. Great show as always MWC 👏👏👏👏
I have been avoiding gshocks all these years due mostly to the size. but now casio really got me with the newer s models. i got the black one with gold face. the display is yellow tinted so it gives retro vibes. i got a 6.25 inch wrist and it fits quite nicely. at first the band seems a bit stubborn with its angle and shape, but wear it tight and it is actually comfortable, even on a hot summer day. The length of the strap is a bit long tho - barely staying tucked with the keeper close to the watch. this is my second gshock. and i have already bought a third. casio needs to stop taking my money 😂

I don’t know how the gbd200 is size wise versus a 5600 (I could go have a look but can’t be bothered) but the MIP screen is so much better I don’t know why Casio isn’t using them in everything. On another note. Have you tried the AQ S810. I know it’s large but it’s tough solar and has world time, 5 alarms, timer, stopwatch etc. Cheapest I have seen it on internet is £33! I got the white one the other day and now I walk around like a stormtrooper.

I saw a Seiko land tortoise yesterday, the one with the green dial, since I saw your green Willard vid, I’ve been noticing green dials more and more, I can’t get the tortoise out of my head now, just wanted to know your view on it, the jewellers had it on sale for £430, it looks worth that all day long, would love your opinion tho 👍⭐️
Still love and would choose my 5600 over this one. I don’t know but I don’t even like the other variants of 5600 like the bluetooth and solar version. The basic is the real one with the basic screen. The only thing what I accepting is the nice blue backlight.
*To make the stubby upper left "adjust" button usable on my DW-5600, I cut the bottom piece of rubber under the "adjust" button, out. The case is secure with the other 3 buttons and 4 screws. **Note: If there are no screws on the smaller version, this mod leaves the rubber case with just 3 buttons holding the case on👎🤦♂️
Russ i'm a fat wrister .. but i like it.. looks like Casio are going along the snap on/off cases now.. Not sure how i feel about that .. easy to swap cases i suppose .
I’m uneasy about it to my friend! But customising then sounds great in theory! And clever but is it’s integrity lost???? The strap is just as long as a regular dw5600 I forgot to mention it!!

Still love and would choose my 5600 over this one. I don’t know but I don’t even like the other variants of 5600 like the bluetooth and solar version. The basic is the real one with the basic screen. The only thing what I accepting is the nice blue backlight.
I always thought the closest thing to the original gshock is the gwm5610 look wise anyway which is solar
*To make the stubby upper left "adjust" button usable on my DW-5600, I cut the bottom piece of rubber under the "adjust" button, out. The case is secure with the other 3 buttons and 4 screws. **Note: If there are no screws on the smaller version, this mod leaves the rubber case with just 3 buttons holding the case on👎🤦♂️
Auto light feature?
I can't imagine how many sales they missed because they slap BABY on it
I would have hoped for a smaller casioak with a brillant legibility...😢
Bought the white one and a black one then switched the modules and gave the white one to my gf. Looks a lot better all black with a neg display 😎
I totally agree, it is made for small wrists...
Can you swap the day and month to a European format?
Russ i'm a fat wrister .. but i like it.. looks like Casio are going along the snap on/off cases now.. Not sure how i feel about that .. easy to swap cases i suppose .
I’m uneasy about it to my friend! But customising then sounds great in theory! And clever but is it’s integrity lost???? The strap is just as long as a regular dw5600 I forgot to mention it!!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Thats a bit strange . as it's advertised as a Girls/Woman's watch.. How long before after market folk are making all kinds of coloured cases for these ?? and Metal of course.. oh yes they always come up with an aftermarket metal case cover ..hmmmmmm
A shame they haven't made (yet) a big standard coloured square (plain black) in this size 🤞they will
Considering getting the GLX-5600, as a guy
The blue one 😀😍
