Amsterdam center is expensive, but an outer neighborhood cafeteria or market is much more worth for your money. Some Suriname, Turkish, Indonesian food places offer a good meal under ten euro’s. Plus supermarkets have reasonable options for well spread sandwiched, salads and other nutritional options. Me personally I would go for a big bag of fries with peanut sauce and small raw onion.
Stuff is so expensive in amsterdam in the tourist area. Great but expensive. I went 20 min walk out of red light area & got food big mixed box of food chips kebab meat salad & some strange but really nice PINK sauce. Great content thanks for sharing 👍👍🙏🇬🇧
Great video Max. The shipyard is a creative centre with artists studios and work inside. They hold exhibitions and cultural events there quite regular. Also the street art and graffiti museum is at present the largest in the world! Keep em coming my fellow Yorkshire one 👌🏽
Buy? at my local supermarket the coffee machine is free, that is done as a low level way for elderly/isolated/poor people to have a cup of coffee in public. People who sit there get often approached by staff to have a chat. I am not sure this is done in Amsterdam supermarkets as well. But it is free for anyone.
Ah yeah, if you sit down at a terras for coffee and buy a stroopwafel at a tourist shop, you pay that much. But you know perfectly well that there's cheaper food in Amsterdam because you've been at the Albert Cuyp market. And you can get a pizza for around 10 euros if you know where to go. That's why there's google, to look up good and cheap places.
Go to the ALBERT CUYP MARKET. Best stroppwafel. Good Surinam food, roti or moksi meti, or just even a surinam baguette. Febo. Lots and lots where the locals go. Kibbeling. Eat war fries, patat oorlog. Frikandel speciaal on a bun. Never.. never... never by tourist stroopwafels in a shop.
@@Yorkshire_lad_abroad And do a video on Dutch fried snacks, preferably from something other than bloody FEBO (even thought that snack wall is a very satisfying experience). Go to the snackbar that's nearest your house or something. Lowbrow hole-in-the-wall, the greasier the better ;-)
If you would just gone out of the tourist trap area..your coffee would have been cheaper..your fresh stroopwafel would have been 2.50 euro at albert cuyp marked..and you could have bought a souvenir at Hema for a couple of euro's..and a tompouce(custerd pastry) or half of a warme smoked saucage with musterd...
You're totally right! But for this video, I wanted to focus on experiencing the place itself rather than just going to a supermarket. I did a similar video in Hurghada, and while I could have just gone to a supermarket and bought loads of stuff, it wouldn’t have captured the real feel of being there.
@@Yorkshire_lad_abroad go to amsterdam east or old south. There are real cheese shops where also locals go. Or markets like albert kuijp and dapper market. If you want to go cheap you can also buy stuff in a supermarket like bread, butter and meat and make sandwiches, enough parks to eat it relaxed
324L.E for a piece of waffle ..we get it her for 30 to 40 L.E and fresh made ..324L.E get you a fair and square lunch in Egypt with everything including dessert ! ..God bless Egypt ❤

Yeah I guess you went to the market!! I went there the other day and did a video there. Next week I will post it! Thanks for the support 🙏
Good luck with this one Max, hopefully will get you the same luck as your Hurghada one ✈️
Yeah, hopefully, but I honestly really just enjoy making the video and seeing what I can get for €10 in different parts of the world 😁😁
@@Yorkshire_lad_abroad lol good luck mate seriously.
1 bottle of water + cheese sandwich and that's 10 euros, I think. Now I'm going to see how you do!
Haha, yep
Souvenir wise, pop into any coffeeshop and you’ll be able to pick up a g for 10 euros, both flower and hash 👌
Haha exactly 💯 my go to was G13

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it 😊
Hey Lad - Cape Town is also Amazing 😂😂😂😂
Good to see you doing well 🎉🎉🎉
Hello 👋 There are so many amazing places.
Thanks mate 👍 hope you're doing good as well
So, Yorkshire Lad was 200m. from my house yesterday. Groetjes, from "Yorkshire Lad in Amsterdam" 😂
Haha, that's crazy! Have a good day 👍
At many supermarkets you can also buy fresh coffee for a few euros. Drink it together with stroopwafels in a park.
That's a good idea thanks 😊

@@buddy1155 In the albert heijn you can buy a fancy coffee for 1,- . It used to be free a few years ago.

I only went to the market for the first time last week, and yeah, it is soo much cheaper 😁 I did a video there, and I will post it this Friday

Hello yess I went to that market a few days ago and it is sooo much cheaper. I filmed a video there and I will post it next Friday

You don't need to go that far into the city. There's a place called Kam Yin across from the Central Station with amazing Chinese/Suriname dishes.
@denisevano.1345 oh thanks its good to know!
Go to a supermarket: 8 stroopwafels for 2,-
Sorry, you did later in the video
@@evertvankammen9588 He did't. Hij kocht het toch in een winkel voor 6 euro. Complete scam.
I did say in the video that you can buy a full pack from the supermarket for 2 euro or so

You could have gotten a lot more at a regular supermarket or the train station.

😁😁😁
Good on you to not pay like 8-10euros for a stroopwafel. Even €5 is a crime in my dutch eyes.
Haha yeah 10euro for 1 waffle is CRAZY!!
Advice, that cheese and stroopwafel shop are real not dutch, only tourists go there.
Ahh okay thanks where are the real places to go?

€4 for a coffee is ridiculous 😭
The funny thing is that €4 is cheap here for a coffee 🤣
You somtimes have been known to even get on the wrong plane😆😆
more vids in dam please
Yep, more are coming!!
10 Euros is not even enough for a gram...
Hahah exactly 😅
You could have bought a stolen bike from a junkie behind the central station.
Hahaha that sounds like a good video idea
Hey Max hope you are well.
I am really good thanks. I hope you are also well!
Egypt is amazing for tourism. God bless EGYPT
Amsterdam is also amazing!!

Yeah, you are 100% correct, but you also have to remember people get paid much more here, and it is in a city centre
Aye Up Max, all the way from Barnsley here, Get more in Barnsley for 10 euro's lol. Bet you are missing the Egyptian weather lol. Mark

I don’t really see the hype about Amsterdam. Looks soulless to me and extremely overpriced. I don’t like that but have a great time there Max
