what could have been done to save eastern? could eastern have survived if it wasn't for LORENZO? I saw another documentary about eastern airlines, I always thought that Charles Bryan should have been president or CEO of eastern, what do you think?
I worked at Continental Airlines for 25 years absolutely beautiful place to work but on the merge with United to make the biggest airline and the best airline in the world
It was a takedown conspiracy, clear as day. Eastern was a dream co.pany to work for and to travel with. A family. We exist in a hell realm, where everything beautiful must be destroyed.
Frank Lorenzo was related to the Rockefellers, the real owners of Eastern, Continental, Delta and others, they just wanted Continental to survive without unions and for Delta to thrive! I was there for 31 years!☹️☹️☹️
People love to blame Unions, but really think airlines will give you pay, insurance, travel benefits and sick time out of the KINDNESS of their heart. It's a mix between disgusting and lunacy.
True, but many of the unions just become mafias where the only ones beneficting from them are the leaders, and as the ones with more pay they are the least likely to care if a bussiness goes under.
@loganq My current Union has brought me well paying wages, health insurance and the like. You sound like a company yes man, who'd fight to keep CEO's millionaires and be happy with crumps you get.
Eastern was always going to go bankrupt. The unions liked to blame management, but the truth is the costs were always too high and none of the cost savings the unions promised ever materialized. In the airline industry the story is always the same - the unions will blame management when they the unions demand contracts that are not sustainable and make costs higher than revenue. We need to always remember there is no such thing as collective bargaining - unions are under no obligation to bargain at all in contract talks, only the company must make concessions and in the case of Eastern the truth is the unions never made any contract concessions. Lorenzo saw the writing on the wall and at least saved Continental knowing that both airlines would end up going down.
Spoken like someone who has NEVER worked in the industry. Certainly not at Eastern or Continental. Saved CO ???? He ran that play in the ground until Bethune stepped in and ended that nonsense. Literally gave CO the best of EA. For safety do not speak around ex EA employee's. You sound life someone who have never worked hard to see their livelihood snatched by greedy bastards in a boardroom. Most whom don't know the difference in a 757 to 737.
That S.O.B. Lorenzo

I was there. I blame Charles Bryan and his God damned union. Hopefully he is rotting in hell.

Frank was related to the DEVIL AND CARL
It's a travesty that Frank Lorenzo is still with us.
Should be in prison for life.

What does a company that no longer exists give you?

@@CS-np2oo I'm sure you will be back to correct the record when your union bankrupts the business. Not.

I think Ted was over-matched by these experts, hard to watch even all these years later.
