No ice buildup. I was using it for about an hour or so and just stop functioning. Fortunately I had the driveway done pretty much. I use my 30 inch craftsman that I have as a back up with the mechanical handle. by the way, I bought it used last Thanksgiving ,it’s a 36 inch beast and I had the belts replaced within a month. The mechanic said the machine is about 20 years old and has some great features that even the new ones don’t have. I was flabbergasted that it was that old. It looks brand new-not even a scratch on it. Also came with that hooded cover which I removed after the first time using it. I am a dunce with anything mechanical, so I’ll take it back to the mechanic and update you to add to your knowledge of expertise.
