- Basically an introduction to three Colt Walkers. Two are replica's by Uberti with different dates of manufacture and twist rates. The other is a Colt 2nd Generation and it also has
a different rate of twist. The series part's (2-4) show results of testing, and IV(A) shows adding height to the front sight on the 1998 model.
Those are beautiful revolvers. I'll be interested to see your test results. I have an older walker 45 years plus. I liked to shoot it with sixty grains of FFF. It was fun but one day the cylinder pin broke off in front of the wedge. The barrel and cylinder flew off in front of me and I was left holding the grip. I ordered a new cylinder pin and installed it but must have had some problem with it because I set it aside. This video makes me want to get it back in use again after all these years.

As a coincidence I too have one 2nd Gen Walker and two Uberti's, I have not checked the twist rate on them, but they all shoot very well with round ball, I have yet to try the Dragoon projectile in them, I also have to get up the courage to strip the bluing off the cylinders as were the originals, the contrast looks very good when they are laying in the Oak case I made. I look forward to seeing these shooting! As I said before we should live closer together OR. Chris B.
Thanks Chris. I don’t know much about Walker history but that explains why Cimarron sells one that has that style cylinder. Next time I find $600 (sorry, $700) in a parking lot I might own one. O.R.

So this will be very interesting, and a wonderment as to why the variants is barrel twist rates. Now I am unclear as to the 2nd generation walker. Is it one that was manufacturered at the Iver Johnson factory?? I have a newer Uberti, in which I have made some pretty substantial changes to.
