Can we please have a house tour? Every little slice of your home I've seen is gorgeous I would love to see more and hear some stories about your favourite things xx
As a romanian who has been following your work for years, I am overjoyed to hear you take so much inspiration from Brancusi. It's amazing that my favourite makeup artist appreciates another romanian's work so much.
As a hobby bird-watcher I totally see how inspiration for makeup can come from birds (even as close as looking at starlings) chickens and roosters do wear some bright, textured, lovely feathers! I am so glad you made a Q&A, love to hear you talk about things; eloquent, inspired and inspiring, curious, intelligent.
I studied to be a makeup artist, but honestly, most of what I know about techniques, history, inpiration seeking, etc is thanks to you. I learned to apply makeup on myself a decade ago thanks to you. Thank you
Dear Lisa, I finally detoxed myself from UA-cam (makeup video were becoming more and more addictive...pushing me to desire things I didn t need at all), but you are so different and so amazing that I choose to not unsubscribe to your channel! Please keep showing us your passion for make up as a form of art and self espression, not as a continuous gathering of new objects that last the time of a shower! Kisses from Italy!
I've been watching Lisa videos since I was a teenager in high school, and at 25, I still love her so much! The intelligence and thoughtfulness Lisa brings to every single video is such a rare and welcomed gift among YT beauty gurus.
Lisa is a true artist in every sense of the word. Being a makeup artist means so much more than just slapping products on the face. That's where art comes into play as well as your knowledge about culture, different eras and so on. And Lisa Eldridge is so aware of all of that. This is why she really stands out and is so amazing at what she does.
And I thought I couldn't love Lisa any more than I already do. I loved hearing about her inspirations and learning that she grew up in New Zealand and doesn't eat meat! Such a beautiful soul, inside and out.
Damn, you're predictions for 2021 trends make a lot of sense. Especially, since HBO's "Euphoria" came out, people did start experimenting with makeup overall! You know, like glitters, stickers and bright colours ✨!
Love this video Lisa!!! I would absolutely LOVE a travel guide (London, Paris, etc) about great places to shop for makeup, skincare, etc.! I go to London all the time and love wandering around looking for great spots. Especially places that aren't the standard spots or places that stock the standard brands. Also a London guide for museums, etc- places that inspire you artistically. I really love how you are really an artist and find inspiration outside of instagram etc.
One of the best videos on UA-cam I’ve seen for a very long time! Dear Lisa, you manage to inspire us all, despite all the ongoing dreadfulness, which, I hope, will be over soon! Thank you very much! ❤️
This video made me emotional. I just find your integrity and passion so inspiring it really struck something deep in me. And you have been doing for so many years now - I've been watching your videos for years now! Every time I watch I feel so inspired and energised in my own art. Also love that you have never, and will never, take on a sponsored ad. So pure and true. Thank you Lisa xx
Lisa, I love the...sort of disinterested professionalism of your regular videos (not that they're void of personality, just that you're clearly a cosmetic professional), but the glimpses of personality and passion we get in this video is an absolute treasure! Thanks for posting! (Also, I really want to get a couple of those books you recommended.)

It would be so dreamy to meet her on one of those random walks around London. Thank you for being both the artist and the muse of inspiration. 🙏☺️
Lisa, you made me love makeup. It's for you that I studied makeup. I love your work and your passion around makeup, artistry, creativity, everything... Seeing that passion in you makes me happy and I wish I had a fraction of that in me. After getting my diploma, and going through hard times I kind of lost my passion, my love for it; still trying to get back at it. But watching you talk about makeup, history of cosmetics and all the things you love with THAT passion, inspires me again. You always will be my muse, my inspiration, my role model in the makeup world. You are my muse and I will always cherish you for that!!! Thanks for sharing your love for makeup to the world!! I LOVE you ♥️
Lisa - you really are an artist! Your passion, enthusiasm and knowledge of make-up is unparalleled. A true master of the industry. I absolutely loved this video ❤️
Hi Lisa. I've been watching your videos for a while now, your insight is so real and helpful and I appreciate your honest approach to cosmetics. I just watched your video on winning the Audrey Hepburn lipstick case by Cartier, and wanted to send you a little note. I have so many emotions bubbling up after seeing your story. Joy, suspense, awe, and the least of which, and most surprisingly to me, is jealousy. You spent five plump figures of your own money on this iconic piece of movie star history, something I cannot do and don't expect to be able to do in my lifetime, but I am so glad *you* purchased it. You're an artist, a collector, someone who appreciates all the things this piece has to offer: Audrey, makeup history, jewelry, and the iconic fashion that was her style. I appreciate those things as well, so I am so grateful something this dear was fought for by someone that *gets it*. You know? But I can't help but feel heartbroken that with your talents, skills, and resources, I can't seem to find that you've offered any clues on the lipstick contained within to those of us that love Audrey, love iconic fashion, love classic film, and love femininity as much as you do, but cannot afford to outbid a ravenous Michigander. A simple clue for a dupe would be exhilarating. I was waiting with baited breath for the name of the makeup brand she wore, maybe the shade, but you keeping that to yourself. At the risk of coming across too strong I have to say, you have the bejeweled Cartier lipstick holder with Audrey's actual DNA. Do you have to keep the brand a secret as well? Does it need to sit in a vault, or can the knowledge of Audrey's iconic (and this is a word I never use, but c'mon, it's Audrey) lipstick be something for all lipstick fans to enjoy and chase and hope to hold for our own? Since I was a little girl and I first saw her put on the gold lipstick in the back of the cab with the gold compact I have always searched for that lipstick. I feel closer having seen your video, so much closer, but I'll never get it right. I'm only looking at film, shadows and light from decades ago. Two Christmases ago my husband bought me a golden peach Dior lipstick in a gold bullet from a holiday collection, so I do have that, and it is so precious to me. (Dior!!) Someday I'll get my classic gold powder compact. But I couldn't let this opportunity go by without asking you, the owner of The Lipstick, to reconsider connecting the rest of us who can feel that moment where Holly Golightly applies that perfect coral lipstick with that gold compact to pull herself together to our dream of femininity and womanhood realized in a little tube of lipstick. Thanks.
Orlando is also my favorite book! One of my favorite things to do (which I don’t do now because Pandemic, but hope to do again when this is all over 😪) is to look for it in a book shop and just pick a random page to read, it’s like visiting an old friend and they are just how I remember them.
I can totally understand why you a drawn to nature and architecture for inspiration instead of magazines and the work of other artists in your field. I'm a portrait artist, and I find inspiration even from interior design and still life, or a department store's art instillations etc. Love a great Q&A!
@@parkedawn but remember that Dorian Grey had very bad nature inside, so the painting changed as his mean side that appeared on the painting of him ... so although I understand why you suggest Dorian Grey, just as i did .... but then I reconsidered my initial thought.
I would love to see an eyeshadow palette curated by you. When you spoke about how much you love architecture and nature I couldn't help but remember my experience at the Sagrada Familia... Those beautiful stained glass windows that remind me of butterfly wings... the icy blue, the soft cotton sugar pink, the sundown orange...
Lisa, you are beautiful inside and out on top of being classy, chic and talented! Your sensitivity towards animals make me appreciate you even more. Big hugs!
@@LisaEldridge Thoroughly enjoyed it! I was wondering if you could suggest books about cosmetic science that you've loved? I've tried to look for titles but I don't want to bump into anything too academic as I really have little chemistry knowledge...I've turned 30 in September and I really want to be more conscientious about my choices now that my skin is changing (and hopefully still glow as you do!).
Really lovely. You are so grounded and I feel so inspired by the way you seek inspiration. That is a sign of humility and I think one of your most endearing qualities. You channel is so refreshing ! One video I would personally like to see is "a day in the life of".... where you share clips from shoots - how you coordinate it all, do you pre-plan how each person will get done or do you wait till they are sitting? What are you challenges on these shoots (space fatigue, equipment). Etc. I am with you on the twenties re-surgence.....I LOVE the hair makeup, dresses etc from the flapper time. They just scream FUN! Cheers!

You discussing your favorite non makeup things is what I’ve always wanted from this channel. Anytime that sort of thing comes up in your videos I wish you’d explore it as a central focus and go in depth rather than just peripherally mentioning it in passing. Would love to have much more of that kind of content, as a regular feature. Also love when you tell anecdotes about your past.

Lisa, we go to The Tyrol in Austria every other year. GO there!! Especially Mayrhofen. You will be hooked. Edit: We have also been to the Dolomites. It, too, is stunning and is a real mix of Italian/Austrian culture.
Hi Lisa 👋🏻 Maybe you could do sort of a challenge with the first book you’ve showed us. Pick 5 most challenging ones and create makeup looks based on them :)
Lisa, your best ideas are when you're in the bathtub because that's a place where you're basically forced to have to think abstractly. You have no distractions around, no phone, no people. Just you. Your attention turns inward where you have the extended amount of time to delve into deeper thoughts. Another difference between thinking in the bathtub vs. in a quiet room is that you're not going to fall asleep since you're in water!
I think I've got a sister book to the one about chickens that you mentioned: it's called Extraordinary Pigs, and it does feature some pretty incredible pigs. :) Great video, Lisa!

Lisa, years are passing and you are still one and only ❤️🙏✋
Please do stud earrings! That would be brilliant, love the stones you use
I can totally understand why you a drawn to nature and architecture for inspiration instead of magazines and the work of other artists in your field. I'm a portrait artist, and I find inspiration even from interior design and still life, or a department store's art instillations etc. Love a great Q&A!
I think Lisa has a portrait hidden somewhere that gets old instead of her
A good version of Dorian Gray!
hahahahha YES!
And an incredible facial expert plus regime of non surgical enhancements.
@@parkedawn but remember that Dorian Grey had very bad nature inside, so the painting changed as his mean side that appeared on the painting of him ... so although I understand why you suggest Dorian Grey, just as i did .... but then I reconsidered my initial thought.
😆👌💕
I just love that you are not sponsored and honest and love your sources of inspiration..thank you for being you!
I want the velvet ribbon and the lip color you’re wearing so bad! I can’t wait until you ship to Germany again so I can order some of your products.
Please film when you do Anya's makeup for the shoot, I'm obsessed with her look - so striking!
Big hugs!
I finished your book yesterday and I was wondering when you'd pop up here. Hi!!! The book is great by the way, would have loved researching for it!
Thank you so happy you enjoyed reading it 😊xx
@@LisaEldridge Thoroughly enjoyed it! I was wondering if you could suggest books about cosmetic science that you've loved? I've tried to look for titles but I don't want to bump into anything too academic as I really have little chemistry knowledge...I've turned 30 in September and I really want to be more conscientious about my choices now that my skin is changing (and hopefully still glow as you do!).
@@LisaEldridge hi Lisa. I have a question for you. Thanks. 💅💅💅💄💄💄❤️❤️❤️
Cheers!
I loved this!😍Would you ever consider a tour of your home? I can tell it’s fabulous & you have an impeccable decorating eye! Really hoping you’d show us around in detail & maybe you’d also throw in a Ted-talk😻
It’s amazing that in this crazy social media world, you are always adored and respected. That’s just because you are who you are. Love you, Lisa.❤️
0430am here in Australia! Good morning everyone! 🤍
I would love to see a “how-to choose the best colors for your skin tone; hair color, makeup and clothing”
She has older videos on that kind of thing if you dig through the channel library

Wow, I had no idea Lisa was into Brâncuși, I love her even more 🥰
Lisa, I feel so inspired by you! This video is so interesting. Your books, how you recharge your inspiration batteries, your passion for work, for art.... I love all of it! Thanks for this video and for all the years you've been teaching us make up techniques. Big hugs from Argentina!
Really enjoyed this! Lisa, my sister has sent me Trinny of London make up today as a gift. She's in England and I'm in Ireland. Haven't seen her for a year. I miss her! If you have the products, would you do a tutorial on it? Would love to see your take on it.xx
Lisa we can connect with you because you are a genuine, natural, unpretentious, normal human being. Loved this video thank you ❤️
Lisa you need to follow Baumgartner restauration, he does amazing work on old paintings
Its soooo relaxing
Who knew chickens were so intricate in their coloring and textures? Thank you for illuminating that.
What a gorgeous look! Thank you for being and inspiration.
Lisa this video is so simple yet so sophisticated and interesting to watch. The minimal editing makes it very easy and chill to watch and I don’t feel the need to skip any part of it! xx
So pleased you loved watching 😍😍😍
Hello, Lisa! What a pleasant surprise! ❤️
Never knew you stayed away from meat for so long! My vegan heart is so happy! Love you always Lisa.
What a lovely chance for a chat with Lisa ! Truly an uplifting, authentic and genuinely creative piece of joy. Thank you xxx
Lisa, we go to The Tyrol in Austria every other year. GO there!! Especially Mayrhofen. You will be hooked. Edit: We have also been to the Dolomites. It, too, is stunning and is a real mix of Italian/Austrian culture.
I like Orlando too, also S C Marie Antoinette.I love Marie Antoinette. That film has a great color and sounds. Rick with so much. . .
So excited about the blush!
I thoroughly enjoyed the process of cosmetic science - learning how a lipstick is made literally from start to finish is amazing
Hi Lisa 👋🏻 Maybe you could do sort of a challenge with the first book you’ve showed us. Pick 5 most challenging ones and create makeup looks based on them :)
Agreed!!! That sounds wonderful!
I swear lisa is the most creative and artistic person!
That's a great point about 2021 trends! I've been brave enough to dye my hair pink because life is too short to not try😅
