I had a Frisport 8-10 for a while, recently got a used Varanger Camp 8-10 for the extra porch and better opening imo. Setting up the Varanger was easy for me, however just bought the disc for it which from what I can see I need. Not arrived as yet. Never use the inner tent. Only 50/50 on using the floor as well. Good video, thanks for making it!
You will find the lavvu disk really useful, ensures you get a great pitch and speeds up the process - great when the weather isn't nice. Thanks for watching, glad it was useful.
Best video so far. Very good and thank you so much. I have a Varanger 12-14. Good space and very good product. I have used Helsport pruducts since I was 9 years old and this year I am 59 years old. 😂 Thank you so much for your great video. Best Regards, Arve Herman Tangen
Thanks Paul Sheils, appreciate the feedback. We have the outer and stove set up in shop if you're ever near Garstang in Lancashire or give us a ring and we'll help you out.
Hey, you probably realized allready. But i need to tell you, Because of the cords when they strugle the inner-tent. Helsport made 4 extra holes for these cords. I found it out if i tried to stick the top of the inner together with the outer, to let no moskitos in. Thanks for reading...
Excellent clip! Just got the same lavvu and I'm wondering how long the cord with the loop and knot are (in centimeters) that you use with the disc in the beginning of the clip? Is it possible to buy the lavvu disc? I'm from Sweden 😊
Just bought this lavvo yesterday. Priceless video by the way! Very good instructions and you get every detail illustrated very nice :) Question: I bought the bottom + the innertent. Is it necessarily to use both innertent and bottom to get the lavvo consealed to prevent bugs etc crawling in from the ground?
Thanks Tor Christian Stamnes The floor isn't sewn in but the valance on the inner rests on the floor, so do this right and it works well against the bugs... can count on one hand the ground crawlers we've had in. Enjoy the Lavvu!
There is a large flat surface on the top of the stove that can be used for cooking. So I've used it with a kettle to heat water or with a pan heating stews, or frying. Another option we sell is the Frontier Stove which has a round removable metal plate built into the surface for allowing access to the open flames, this is more versatile for cooking but I find is not as good as a heater for the tent when it is really cold. Hope that helps.
Hi Erik, the entrance is sewn into the main body of the Lavvu so the only weight saving you could achieve by not using the porch is the porch pole. Obviously not using the porch pole means the excess material would need to be rolled up securely while still maintaining a usable door. Allegedly there is a way to do this but we have tried with the tent pitched in our shop and we have never mastered an effective solution. So at the moment we'd strongly recommended that the Varanger Camp is always designed to be used with the porch. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Extremely helpful video. Just bought my first lavvu, Varanger Camp 8-10 and you just saved me alot of headache :)
Thanks MMA Norway that's really good to hear. Happy camping, enjoy the lavvu.
Very helpful! Thanks!

Har du hittat någon längd för snöret? Jag har tillverkat en disc men hjälper föga utan snöret.

Is it possible to use it without the entrance set up? As a standard lavvo to save weigth

Good lavvy, but pipe hole is bad place. The rain water comes in.
