Final finish is incredible, awesome work Chris! 👌🙌 Nice to see him making his UA-cam debut 😂 Obviously easy to bodywork straight metal too Dean 😅👏 Look forward to seeing it back on its wheels and complete in the sun!
Stunning! Painting the stripes on definitely worth it and they look amazing. Seeing and having an explanation of the amount of work that is required to achieve a high standard of finish gives a great appreciation of a high quality restoration. Great work guys.
Thank you. We’ve done as the customer asked. Seems to be every which version on line too! I’ve always thought the side stripe looks odd because it sits below the belt line trim and doesn’t line up with the boot line? Thanks for watching 👌
Please show the completed product - the car looks awesome. We didn’t get the early GTI’s in Australia- some may have been imported later - but you couldn’t buy them new from a dealer.
I certainly will! The next video will be getting the wiring loom installed and getting it rolling on air ride. Won’t be for a little while though as we have a few other projects to get on with! That’s interesting about Aus! I believe they made a version of the mk2 in SA called the citi golf until 2009!!! Thanks for checking out the video 🙌🏻
You should look for a new body guy. Chris's blocking work is incredible, but not wearing a mask while sanding all but guarantees an elderlife of health challenges.
Black,the most hardest colour to paint😱WOW😱NAILD IT👍BEAUTIFUL 👍💪
Hardest to paint and hardest to keep clean 😅😅 thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Wow, looks absolutely stunning! Great job guys!
Thanks Jake 🙌🏻

Reinforce the part where the clutch cable goes through the bulkhead - I punched through mine a few times back in the day!! Fab job - looks awesome!

Amazing finish, how come you didn't paint the silver stripe down the sides in line with the boot stripe?

that's better than factory !....is that paint and clear coat flatted back or paint and polish?.. looks absolutely stunning
Thanks Matt. This is Basecoat and lacquer rather than direct gloss (2k). 👍🏻

@@classiccarrevivalsofficial mk1 , they just stuck some full plastic bumpers on it , made the front windows one piece ( and only the four door)
Awesome job,how much does this cost? Approx?
Completely depends on what level of restoration you require. Best to email us at info@classiccarrevivals.com

I’ll pass your thoughts on to him 😬
