Can we talk about Mike’s VOICE though. I’m almost glad there’s no video cause his vocals don’t ever get the credit they deserve. He was so dynamic…if he couldn’t dance a lick, he’d still be one of the greatest entertainers of all time!

This was actually a performance of Quincy Jones and friends during an appearance at the Budweiser Superfest in Los Angeles. I saw the entire clip on Entertainment Tonight. Michael came onstage as Ashford and Simpson ,who by the way, wrote the song for Quincy Jones album of the same name, "Sounds and Stuff Like That. Also on stage were James Ingram and Patti Austin,as well as bass player Louis Johnson of the Brothers Johnson. Michael came onstage with his brother Marlon who was also singing in the background.

I remember they had pics from this in Jet Magazine. Funny how we looked at it as him trying to stay relevant by coming on that stage. We had no idea what was coming a few months later......

this has to be the last performance from Michael i have yet to see. there is only short video clips/snippets and pictures but that's it. never thought (but always hoped) i would hear or see anything from it. and the date of this performance!!! i was one month shy of being born when this was performed.

Thanks a lot for this. Michael's on fire here WOW... I remember reading an interview he did on the same year he did this, and he talked about how he was hiding and whatnot to avoid getting called by Quincy to the stage, cause he was shy and all that, but then when he went on stage he just turned into a performing beast all fired up climbing the scaffolding and speakers... SO GREAT wish there was video of this as well
