He nerfed him, zenitsu only knows one thunder breathing form which is the first one (thunderclap) lol which is really OP btw, for me it's the strongest technique in the whole series when he perfected it, he can literally one shot anyone, if youve read the manga that is...

I actually think that a sleeping technique is good for fighting because, Zenitsu can trick his enemies to thinking that he’s weak so that the enemy would not want to use to much power, and after Zenitsu falls asleep then he will have a lot more power to kill his enemies

Without using his eyes to lock on to the target, any other senses would just be too slow to keep up with that speed~
He has to have something else that allows him to lock on.
Otherwise, he'd be missing A LOT against opponents who can move stupid fast - like Akaza.

It's even more than that. If you count, he jumped 6 times. Sixfold. He planned the path ahead of time, including that the spider would retreat and to use the web to jump up into the cabin.
His hearing is beyond that of a normal person, like how Tanjiro has a good sense of smell. You know like how bats use sound to navigate because they’re blind. This is the same concept

One of the best* I admit DS have mind-blowing animation, but it's kinda exaggerated to called it the best of all time. It's great, but another Ufotable product which is Fate, have smoother fighting animation, and imo all fights in Fate Heaven's Feel 1-2&3 surpass DS

Nobody ever mentioned that thunderclap and flash is a counter technique not for offense.
Just like in laido or laijutsu, you draw your sword to counter an attack and you put it back in the scabbard.
