When I bought my sons their first dirt bikes it was a CRF80 and CRF150. I bought FMF exhausts for both.. The 80 had a full pipe from the engine back but the 150 kept the stock pipe and had just the FMF muffler bolted to the stock exhaust.
Clean up the pipe and shield with scotchbrite, then paint them using VHT header paint. Make sure you go through a couple heat cycles to cure the paint (and do it outside) but it leaves a nice matte finish that looks great. Or take the shield off and wrap it with header wrap but make sure you wear gloves when you do!
Clean the pipe with scotch brute give it a coat of heat paint and wrap it with exhaust wrap to keep the heat off the motor and your leg. Nice job man keep it up.
You can soak that header pipe in vinegar over night and it will remove a lot of the rust. Might need a bronze brush to kind of brush it clean. Then just paint it with some high temp paint and you should be fine.
I know you stay busy whit riding every bike under the sun but have you ridden this thing yet? Are you going to start tracking this thing. I’d love to see you finish this bike and start scraping elbow around the track on it. 🤘🤘
Thanks for sharing I'm learning a lot from this channel!!

Alex- Great channel. My 2 cents, I would wrap the header. DEI header wrap would work. Looking forward to the build. Good luck.
Nice! Good job Alex! Get a hold of me. I will make your pipe look new. Happy to donate.
Its going to be cool once its done and will compliment your fleet very well.
I thought you might put on frame gaurds where boot rubs??
You"ll have some sharp steering with the wheel changes

BUELL IS BACK ! BUELL IS BACK ! BUELL IS BACK!
Red scotch brite and wd-40 on the header, should clean up nice.
Why the 2.15/2.5 rims instead of 2.5/3.0 rims? Are you sealing spokes to go tubeless?
