Mega Man X4 had so many memorable soundtracks. Slash Beast was pretty cool.

When I think of kickass techno in video games, only two things come to mind. Shoot-em-ups, and the Mega Man X series.

Fun Fact - He's the first boss to be named after a Guns and Roses band member.
X5 continued the trend, then they realised it was stupid in x6 so they gave the x6 ones even DUMBER names that dont relate to them! (Idk tho, some sound awesome)

I just replayed X4 yesterday after a few years since the last time and this stage is still my favorite. It's a fast paced adrenaline rush complete with a fun mini boss and an action packed ride armor section, all while on top of a moving train, and the music couldn't convey the joy of it any better than this. Peak MegaMan X in my opinion!
It's one of my favorites too. Few things in this game match the epicness of Slash Beast outrunning an entire train to fight you. The whole game was awesome, but this stage is one of the best highlights for me.

I was a kid and I was so bad and this was the first boss I killed after weeks of having the game, I almost cried ❤️ I love him, I carry his power with respect.

Good times when they animated those kind of reactions. On X5 and 6 those animation were not present on the bosses T_T
a neat little trivia...they used Slash's name for 2 bosses. they used it for Slash Beast and Grizzly Slash.
And with Storm Eagle (X1) and Storm Owl (X4).

Bio: Slash Beast joined the Repliforce military solely to satisfy his desires to carve enemies to pieces, and he garnered a reputation on the battlefield for never showing fear and challenging enemies that were twice his size.
Beast rose to become the captain of Repliforce's Reploid Army.
When the Repliforce began their coup d'etat, he supported it by running guard duty on military supply trains carrying weapons and ammunition to Repliforce units.
The Hunters targeted his Military Train and destroyed numerous carriages within it, before engaging Beast in battle.
The fearless soldier gave Hunters an epic battle but not even he was able to overcome their power and he was thus destroyed, dying an honorable death on the battlefield.
This along with Frost Walrus Jet Stingray and Rainly Turtloid.. are the best themes in the whole Megaman X series

Military stage!
Jesus Christ! His stage was hell and his boss fight was tough. He's still a cool maverick though. Better than neon tiger and grizzly slash.
But his fight was easy as hell
@@frankhorrigan1508 But oh, admitting that he is a great boss is like storm egle is very easy but they like the same slash beast the story design eh even the twin slash if you don't believe me about the weapon use it on the split mushroom stage and you will see it magnifies which is also the music sives is great the slash beast is the 2nd best of megaman x4 obviously it is best magma dragoon but slash beast is the second best !!
Good music, weakest boss
Amazing: I never noticed it before, but the original composer erred on the bass. There are no dischords, but it could have been composed far better.
I suppose the bass is mostly drowned out while by the sound of the train while I play the game (in the game, the mission in this stage is to interfere with the enemy's supply train.)
The bass goes perfectly with these extended chords, this song uses suspended chords, the bass has little mobility which gives a feeling of something unknown, there are no mistakes here
