Actually he sacrificed himself to seal the dark elf. The four guardians were made using pieces of his soul and the last past that vanished for years, turned into a cyber elf. This cyber elf is the one who gives you the z saber and occasionally talks to you. Then using the last of his energy in this world he demands that you mercilessly retire copy x and tells you that the world is in your hands, therefore officially making zero a megaman

Maybe it has something to do with the Cyber World as a portal, or X stored it in the Cyber World for when Zero appears.

Among these is his helmet, which contains the brain chip. It would stand to reason that if the helmet survived, the brain chip would be largely untouched. So, he'll come back... someday, when someone finds him, buried in the sand.
I'm still questioning how, 1; How X even managed to become a Cyber-Elf before all this, and 2; How the heck did he materialize Zero's new weapon? @4kidshater Nop this is not Zero's theme from Megaman it just got the first part of it you could say its a remake of that theme anyway this is the theme that was used in megaman zero 1
