You sounded awesome, I have never really heard the Contrabass played that well before.
SUCH A WONDERFUL SOUND!!!! IT IS ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDS I HAVE HEARD!!!
I love it, Hugo!
Beautiful playing!
Thanks for the overview on that amazing horn.
Absolutely loved the playing! Phenomenal!
You have a wonderful sound on the horn!!
Awesome video!
Just found you, Hugo! Great contra playing, and of course, you have the Leblanc 340...one of these days, I'll get one.....
Well done buddy!
Good English! Easy to understand!
Interesting peg ideas! For my paperclip contra alto, I just bought a tuba stand. Seems to work well when seated.
Brutal!!!
I play a contra alto clarinet. Selmer Bundy, I am thinking about buying one like yours.
I would love to hear a recording of the song you are playing in the background!
Hi Chris, the soundtrack on this video is an improvisation I specifically made for this video...
Maybe some day I will do a special video just with the soundtrack!!!
Hi hugo! Very interesting, what piece is sound at end of the video? I too play contrsbass and I'm continue serach new repertoire. Thaks for the video!
Thanks Jose. The whole soundtrack of this video are a bunch of free improvisations I did, specially for this video, using only this contrabass clarinet.
cheers!
👏👏👏
I got exactly the same case for my bassoon
Thank you for making this video! Lots of great info, and you play wonderfully. I would like to hear you talking and playing separately however. It's difficult to focus on the speech with the music playing, and vice versa. If you could lower the volume of the music while you are speaking, that would be great - but then please add more music without you talking over it, too.
Thanks for your feedback.
Unfortunately I don't have the video project on my computer anymore so I can't edit it. But thanks for your feedback, I will consider it for future videos!
incredible tone! what mouthpiece are you using?
It is a leblanc. There no model on it so I can’t name it.
Bravo Hugo! What kind of bassoon case is that? Thank you for the video! Tony
Thanks! This is a very normal top loader bassoon case... This one is a very affordable one from Thomann, but I guess many bassoon cases in this style could work!
cheers!
@@hugoqueiros I use the Protec Platinum series. Works really well too!
Thank you guys!!
@@tpark89 I tried a few to make sure it would fit, as I was looking for the smallest possible. Some were too small, though, like those made by Tom and Will and Howarth. You also need one where the 4-way inserts are velcro so you can remove the extra panels. The Protec fits great and has a good amount of space with extra pockets. It looks like the Thomann one is a similar design.
Jason Alder What type of damage can you see it being susceptible to in the protec case?
Hi Hugo, if you pause the video at 0:43 you can see zip-ties holding your paperclip 'joints' together. Is this so they don't flex or some other reason? Many thanks!
Hi Brendan, thanks for your interested... sadly there is no big reason for it neither any improvement on the playing... is just a broken welding and the zip-ties are keeping it for now!!!
Are those black pads?
Yes they are! Very quiet ones!!
where did you buy it from?
They stoped production of this model... So there is only the second hand market.
Did you say this is a low C Contrabass?
yes, it is!!
Thanks Hugo! Great sound on a paperclip. I sometimes wonder why Leblanc discontinued the manufacture of the paperclip. Current LeBlancs are extremely challenging to transport! My case is close to 6 foot in length!
Wouldn’t it be easier with the original case? Then you wouldn’t need to take it apart at all. At least with my low D paper clip it all fits together with very little disassembly. Also would you consider using a straight contra bass for standing? Assuming you had unlimited money🤪😜
This case is much smaller than the original one... so that makes it easier to travel! And anyway it takes no time to disassembly it.
I have tried other instruments, and sometimes I do play in different models, but I still think this one is the most user-friendly for me... and with this peg is the best I found to play standing...
@@hugoqueiros Any adress for this case ?
@@bublibee6483 This one I bought it on Thomann (it's their own bassoon case), but there are other models that also work...
Wich peg ?
both... depending on the situation, as I explain in the video.
