For the manual brakes you should use either a airfoil like they have on a Bugatti Veyron power with a servo that comes up when you let off the throttle or a parachute system or a combination of the two parachute I think is a great idea because once you release it your car cannot spin out of control Kohl's rear end of your car straight back and would take a huge load off the speed controller. Sounds good bro. Have you ever considered utilizing the drag brake at all for braking assistance? I find a good 10-20% drag brake helps a lot but not sure at those speeds!
EVERYDAY RC I found 10% worked ok on my MMM/2200kv 6s setup, but only on clean high bite surfaces like fresh asphalt. If there's any sand or anything on the road and you let off the throttle at 90+mph it's bye bye road, hello ditch!
Wow. I thought my 8th scale stampede was bad. I'm gonna extend my front with rustler a arms for more stability. I know guys are pushing 6s but I'm still new and 4s scares me. Still more to come and have 90% rpm mods you can get so far with mod 1 gearing running grps too. I have hobbywing 120 amp with 2400kv motor. Next I will build a 6s rustler with Mamba monster 2 2200 kv setup everyone runs with mod 1 gearing. I never seen that extended jato arms like that's pretty bad ass. You have the best build I've ever seen. 12 though that's gonna hit 200mph you better get foams
Have you tried so simply run drag brake at 50% or so or does that still trash the esc. Otherwise I'd suggest simple setting up a driveline disc brake, basically servo mounted pressure plates to drop down onto your mip's. Not the easiest to explain but doable. The other option is a servo controlled pressure on the differential accessed from under the trans or you could create an access point to avoid dirt in your trans. Sounds complicated but it's not to bad if you have a mill and lathe. Rig is looking great though,looking forward to the blur on the street.
Why not create some sort of air brake mechanism on front bumper and or sides of car with a small servo(s) that unfolds out and slows down the car till the esc can take over braking? you could also do a parachute in rear :) air is powerful at high speeds... use it!!!
it's gonna fly w/o wings when it's finally done ha ha! the only concern is when it gets up to top speed the front air dam is going to make the car lower and you may make contact w the pavement

Lost of words, but this is amazing, and a bit crazy.... Are you using rear toe in? My car ran 100 times better with it, exp with spool setup. The BSR foams are a bit taller then GRP:s and rated @ 200+, I have tried both of them on mine.

Solid colors might be ok but the candy colors suck. but anyway if you want to duplicate this paint job get the candy red and spray it in first. then spray a layer of silver then a layer of black backer all from spaz stix. let dry in between layers.
