@Matthew Bibby I think that was exactly what he was talking about. He said they fail to simulate real life. And in real life you roll in full plate no issue, while in game you need 60 vitality to even wear lothric knight armor and roll just fine.

In real life, having an armour does not really make your roll slower. If the balance is off set, it should make it faster or out right unable. You can try to roll with some weight and you would understand. That is why we think it is not realistic when they should be.

I pretty much already know what my last dying words will be, thanks to my State highway patrol many years ago. During an extremely heavy downpour, a driver over in the fast lane of a major highway had lost control of his car and slammed into the side of a bridge. Three State troopers, in their infinite wisdom, decided to help the driver by parking their cars directly in the fast lane...without any flashing lights on. No flares, no nothing. Me, not realizing all this going on a couple miles down the road, went to pass a semi truck and that just made the massive amount of water on my windshield even worse than the heavy downpour. In less than 30 seconds I suddenly realized I was about to slam into all three police cars and my last words would've been a very resigned "well...shit". Thankfully I was able to slow down fast enough to jump back into the slow lane and miss the cars, but I can't even imagine how many people I would've killed as they stood around watching the traffic go by with absolutely no lights or warning signals.

I find it a lot stranger when other games do it. Dark Souls loves hilariously big and heavy weapons and armor! Gyrm Great Hammer is my favorite weapon in the series entirely because it's so fucking silly.
Also dark souls characters: able to roll, run and fight with armor made from a literal boulder. Armor that is so heavy it would most likely crush every single bone in your body.

I have 28 years of experience in competetive Viking reenactment fighting, and all you have to worry about is them getting lucky as they themselves die. Matt Easton has a video on how the treatises instructs the experienced fighter, to deal with aggressive amateurs and their suicidal attacks. Have a look.

It’s a common affliction. Fat rolls can go undiagnosed for hours of gameplay with chronic conditions of fat roll lasting an entire play through. It can be hard to recognize anything is wrong- until it’s too late.
@@HighGuy92 Ah I knew I'd find someone talking about remnant's flop in here :D To be fair in Dark souls its the armour set specifically that does the damage upon rolling (kirk's) vs remnant where its not the armour that does the dmg but the type of overweight "roll" you do (the flop). So you could still do the flop with other armour sets other than Leto's if you pushed past the weight limits via other means.

DS2 old knight hammer under-strength animation was great. I call it the "refridgerator on a stick" which does so much poise damage it is an actually viable fat-roll weapon for early game. Great for farming those shiny knights who lunge and rush at you, but start off sitting there until awoken or you get the boss.

There is a tell to the chests, the position of the side chain. If it's outwards, towards the player it's a trap.

Ben is so good at spotting Mimics, I usually hit the chests if I'm unsure. Though the chain is different, you can never be too sure.

Being from the generally obese USA I thought "fat rolls" meant something entirely different.
DS2 old knight hammer under-strength animation was great. I call it the "refridgerator on a stick" which does so much poise damage it is an actually viable fat-roll weapon for early game. Great for farming those shiny knights who lunge and rush at you, but start off sitting there until awoken or you get the boss.
Jokes aside, the production in this channel is absolutely fantastic!
