Actually funny story he was 2 ( not sure why my kids talk so early but ) he was 2 and he would say hi in traffic to people ( LA traffic 😅) , sometimes he wouldn’t get the wave he wanted so I would remind him “ maybe they are having a bad day /maybe they didn’t see your wave / maybe they didn’t get enough rest “ this brought him calm and understanding! Still practicing understanding others behaviors and reactions are their own and is not our responsibility or fault ! Not even mines , how I treat my son .. he understands it’s based on me not him ! Such a rewarding journey parenting !!!! His intellect is so amazing 🧘🏾♀️
Amen to that. I believe over 90% of the people you encounter are projecting..the less than 10% who've done enough self reflection and inner work can see and appreciate the true you. Nothing people do is personal. We basically serve as mirrors...reflecting parts of themselves back at them so they have opportunities to either recognize their shadows and make peace with it or become defensive and point fingers. Either way, all LOVE.❤
Same...learned that hesitation before speaking from our Elders..& it makes sense so i just never forget it.....it takes a Lot for me to blow my cool...But..when i do & occasionally i will, when the issue is hurting someone...........Run! lol
And as a reminder to everyone who doesn’t drink tea, eat clean, meditate, work out, all that good stuff: please remember DO NOT ATTEMPT to do ALL OF THOSE THINGS at one time! You have to pick the one habit that is hurting your life the most and find the solution to that habit. Then continue to focus your energy on the chosen habit to change it, continue to do that one at a time! Edit: you might be thinking “I have a seemingly never ending list of things I want to change or do though” my answer is: through my experience of changing myself I’ve observed that over time more things fall into place. As I implement the bigger changes in my life the smaller ones tend to follow. If you attempt to change your life from one extreme to the next in a short period of time, you will most likely end up feeling exhausted, and like a “failure” which then serves as the excuse you tell yourself which is “I knew it wouldn’t work anyways” well no, no, and no! That is not it, as Hindz said you need to “live slowly” I 100% agree! I believe that also means slowly approach the changes you’re making in your life too, remember to do it with self love & self compassion. No one recreates their life in one day or one week, you start in one moment and learn as you go. I promise do not give up. Do not give up.

I am so happy there is value other humans are able to apply to their own life. I have been putting off posting my videos to my YT channel due to the fear of failure. Even though I KNOW: pursuing anything new or starting from nothing = ignorant in the beginning and requires: commitment, education, & dedication to make progress. If we continue to allow our fear to stop us from even trying something how can we even learn what we want to try? It isn’t because you & I are incapable, it is because we let fear stop us from learning how to BECOME capable. Now we can either choose to let fear control us or to work through the fear. Also fear is inevitable no matter what you do or don’t do in life! So why not accept fear and use it to our advantage, by not resisting it anymore but embracing it instead. EXACTLY. Just because I am kind doesn't mean I am weak. Just because I am calm, doesn't mean I am lazy. I improve my mind and body on a regular basis so I have a lot of energy, which is exactly why I need to control myself and stay calm to use energy when required. But you know what? Those people are ignorant and do not possess critical thinking. Ignore them. Especially since there are people like me and you who understand each other. Focus on your life, don't waste your energy and time on people like the one you described.

Not even two minutes in and I’m realizing why I am not calm. I don’t even have the patience to steep tea, for some reason I think my day needs to move so fast that if I do have a cup of tea I put it in the microwave. Which is just sacrilegious to tea
Self awareness is the first step to anything and everything. Maybe just start taking it -slow- with ONE thing you enjoy, and be okay in taking time to do it. Whether it’s making tea or reading a book or anything else! We live in such a fast paced society that it feels we always gotta be on 100mph, but when we slow down we realize everything else continues and it was okay that we took it slow for some moments of our own enjoyment.
Brewing a pot of tea is actually quite therapeutic, the smells, the motions, the colour, the temperature, the taste. It's like poetry. Tea is mindfulness in and of itself. I highly recommend experiencing making your own tea, grow the leaf, grow the herb, grow that flower and watch it go from what it is, into a vibrant soothing cup of tea.
Yes!...my teacher taught me how to make tea into a meditation process...it's very relaxing & satisfying & Grounding, which is what i need most....& he saw that.

Calm living is a trend I NEED to see on youtube more lol. I've been really struggling the last several months, especially this past month. 3 weeks ago, my partner broke up with me due to his mental health; our relationship was really struggling to stay afloat since we both have issues that need sorting through and lots of healing work to do for ourselves. The fact that you mentioned the four agreements really hit me . I’ve adopted the four agreements and I try to live by it every single day . It definitely helps you change your mindset and break old habits . It’s a great way to take control over your life and be happy . I’m so glad I came across this book . I got into this bad habit of bad positivity and you might think how can positivity be bad, everytime I felt something off sad or mad or frustrated I would always try to force myself to think about it in a good way or pretend to be in a good mood. Well for light things this can help but not as a habit. That’s why I love how he said he still allows his self to feel angry just while remaining calm

Pandemic has brought me to a really dark place, depression & constant thinking. I feel so blessed I found meditation because of it tho, I was reacting so bad to many things in my life, I mean... I still do, but at least I'm conscious about it and working on being better. I wish you all the best
I find having a consistent meditation practice (both passive and active) really helps regulate the nervous system. Also pranayama is something that has been essential for me as of late. I also feel like embracing high pressure situation also helps as well, the more we lean into discomfort, the more we can appreciate how the struggle shapes us...makes us stronger...The last thing I might at is calming music, something to cast an ambience of ease into your space. I'm learning to be calm and unbothered. Self Checkins throughout the day has been helping a lot and redirecting my energy. If my day starts off moody I try to do something fun to center myself. It can be from having a lil dancing session in my room to a glass of wine heh!
I've always been so calm. I've never been one to take anything personal or let situations or other people get the best of me. However, my current partner has severe anger issues. His irrational behavior towards me, other people, and every single incident he faces has started to weigh on me. I've tried so hard to be patient and understanding, while he upsets himself trying to understand other people's motives for things they do but it's taken a toll on me. I've started to lash out at the slightest sign of emotion or anger he presents, and I just wish I could go back to where I used to be mentally and emotionally. I never mean to get upset and flare up, I just get so overwhelmed because I just know where it's headed, and I don't have the energy for it anymore. I'm so glad I found this, it's like I've found a missing piece of myself.
Seems like you need to take some time apart and let him work on himself while you're working on yourself too cause staying with him will keep affecting you more, emotionally and mentally and even physically. "You cannot heal in the same environment that made you sick".
@@smaytaganya1446 thank you so much for your insight! We ended up breaking up a couple weeks ago, things were getting out of control. I feel so much better now. It's almost like going to emotional rehab, but the rehab center is also the DMV. I hope he eventually begins to see how destructive his behavior and mentality is. I'm going to start therapy soon to ensure I've healed and worked through the resulting emotional issues. It's going to be a beautiful life.
woahhh. receiving the permission to be angry lifted so much off my heart. i’ve been very mindful about what i say when i’m angry but i was trying to rid myself of anger or frustration entirely, and that’s not the answer! i am human and i will get mad, as long as i do my best not to bring another person down with my words or irritation i’m on the right track. this was my little awakening for the day, thank you :)))

I needed to hear this. My dog (on leash) was attacked by a dog (off leash). It turned into a frightening situation. Lots of snarling, yelling, screaming. Basically my whole morning turned into the heightened version of: fight, fright, flight. And when I got home, i wanted a hot drink but thought REAL hard if I wanted coffee. Instead, I made myself a cup of tea. I felt so exhausted from this morning. And the green tea is calming my energy. I still feel drained.

I received very blessed news this week and woke up excited. I wanted to center myself with this new change and you have always been there to help. When I got my first cashier job and was living outside of the family home. When I needed to be strong for my partner and his mental decline . When I moved states to my partner’s hometown because a family emergency, and now things are looking up and a weight has been lifted off our shoulders. We don’t fear hunger, or eviction anymore. I payed my friends back, and now I can even send financial help to my mother. I start a new full time job as well so I feeling very blessed today. Thank you for encouraging people to live.
I had so many things going on in my head for the past month and I really couldn't understand myself. I listen to a lot of podcast, read books but stopped cuz they just didn't resonate, talked to friends.. but nothing didn't work. Then saw your video and found the answer.... I moved to Tokyo, it's a very busy city with people tryna do everything. And so here's me also trying to keep up. Hustling to get better a job, buying things on trend, partying on weekends.. I mean none of this is bad! But when you told me to do a self check.. I realized that I haven't even asked myself how am I doing recently. So did it! and I realized I haven't been the calmest person recently. Believe me when I say, I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZED I WAS NOT CALM. I didn't even know that the the reason why I stress out so much is because I lack being calm tryin to do this and do that. And so from now on.. I am gonna start living slow.. "adjust my lifestyle to go back to my center self of being my best". Do thing with intentions.. MY OWN INTENTION. You have no idea how this was a big help, Hindz. @@CherryBerryFashion I originally bought it in 2014 but never read it. Last year a lot of people started to recommend it to me and one day I gave in and started reading it. One of the best books I’ve ever read.
Ran my first marathon last year. Was tense, nervous, rigid going into the race. There was NO way I was gonna finish unless I calmed down. Focused on being calm, relaxed, and mentally repeated that and “slow down” in my head. And amazingly shocked myself on how my body performed. It’s amazing what we can do when we calm and slow down! Have you ever tried this starting the day making your bed or maybe going for a walk and intentionally getting up real early so you can.... also taking the time intentionally not to beat yourself up for being not perfect and acknowledging the world as it is as it's because what that does is actually make the day more.... for what ever you have in mind by taking off all that pressure and adding the intuition that you've already made something by making your bed /or off your to-do list , you know you might not literally write it down like some people do I know I don't but the fact that you got something done first thing in the morning or took the time for yourself together yourself mentally emotionally and even intellectually hay or at least for me that works ,
I mix different type of tee for myself every week. These are in one of my favourite tee: rose, sakura, acacia flower, blackthron flower, lemongrass, rosehip, lavender, hawthorn flower. 😌

When I came across this... "yeah why am I like this" so I watched it to find out... Taking things slowly, don't rush! Don't let the mistakes of others be the reason you're unhappy or angry. Put your attention on what you're doing at the time of doing it, don't do too much... Where attention goes energy flows...if you're doing to much then your energy will be all over the place.

I agree You cannot control your emotions just your reaction to them. I achieved “Calm” with meditation. It took time. However with meditation I learned to stay present in consciousness When I was in my subconscious I would just react to the emotions that developed within me. When I’m in consciousness (present) and not distracted by other thoughts or feelings, I’m aware of these emotion as they arise and choose how to react to them. It’s empowering. When I use the Win Hoff breathing technique before I meditate I get a deeper experience during my meditation. Think about the times folks do things and think why did I do that? Because you were on autopilot in your subconscious. Be mindful, be conscious in the present, be Calm.

EXACTLY. Just because I am kind doesn't mean I am weak. Just because I am calm, doesn't mean I am lazy. I improve my mind and body on a regular basis so I have a lot of energy, which is exactly why I need to control myself and stay calm to use energy when required. But you know what? Those people are ignorant and do not possess critical thinking. Ignore them. Especially since there are people like me and you who understand each other. Focus on your life, don't waste your energy and time on people like the one you described.
How Wild is it that we can naturally create an angry, stressed filled day within 10 seconds of a choice to react to something that isn’t actually a huge deal but that it takes years to get to the level of mindfulness where you can stay calm in a hurricane?

Self awareness is the first step to anything and everything. Maybe just start taking it -slow- with ONE thing you enjoy, and be okay in taking time to do it. Whether it’s making tea or reading a book or anything else! We live in such a fast paced society that it feels we always gotta be on 100mph, but when we slow down we realize everything else continues and it was okay that we took it slow for some moments of our own enjoyment.
Brewing a pot of tea is actually quite therapeutic, the smells, the motions, the colour, the temperature, the taste. It's like poetry. Tea is mindfulness in and of itself. I highly recommend experiencing making your own tea, grow the leaf, grow the herb, grow that flower and watch it go from what it is, into a vibrant soothing cup of tea.

Calm living is a trend I NEED to see on youtube more lol. I've been really struggling the last several months, especially this past month. 3 weeks ago, my partner broke up with me due to his mental health; our relationship was really struggling to stay afloat since we both have issues that need sorting through and lots of healing work to do for ourselves. The fact that you mentioned the four agreements really hit me . I’ve adopted the four agreements and I try to live by it every single day . It definitely helps you change your mindset and break old habits . It’s a great way to take control over your life and be happy . I’m so glad I came across this book . It’s made a big difference in my life
I got into this bad habit of bad positivity and you might think how can positivity be bad, everytime I felt something off sad or mad or frustrated I would always try to force myself to think about it in a good way or pretend to be in a good mood. Well for light things this can help but not as a habit. That’s why I love how he said he still allows his self to feel angry just while remaining calm

Pandemic has brought me to a really dark place, depression & constant thinking. I feel so blessed I found meditation because of it tho, I was reacting so bad to many things in my life, I mean... I still do, but at least I'm conscious about it and working on being better. I wish you all the best
I find having a consistent meditation practice (both passive and active) really helps regulate the nervous system. Also pranayama is something that has been essential for me as of late. I also feel like embracing high pressure situation also helps as well, the more we lean into discomfort, the more we can appreciate how the struggle shapes us...makes us stronger...The last thing I might at is calming music, something to cast an ambience of ease into your space. I'm learning to be calm and unbothered. Self Checkins throughout the day has been helping a lot and redirecting my energy. If my day starts off moody I try to do something fun to center myself. It can be from having a lil dancing session in my room to a glass of wine heh!
We do the same! We used to just sit in a bad mood but we've learned to centre throughout the day. Dancing is the perfect way to do that 😊

I've always been so calm. I've never been one to take anything personal or let situations or other people get the best of me. However, my current partner has severe anger issues. His irrational behavior towards me, other people, and every single incident he faces has started to weigh on me. I've tried so hard to be patient and understanding, while he upsets himself trying to understand other people's motives for things they do but it's taken a toll on me. I've started to lash out at the slightest sign of emotion or anger he presents, and I just wish I could go back to where I used to be mentally and emotionally. I never mean to get upset and flare up, I just get so overwhelmed because I just know where it's headed, and I don't have the energy for it anymore. I'm so glad I found this, it's like I've found a missing piece of myself.
Seems like you need to take some time apart and let him work on himself while you're working on yourself too cause staying with him will keep affecting you more, emotionally and mentally and even physically. "You cannot heal in the same environment that made you sick".
@@smaytaganya1446 thank you so much for your insight! We ended up breaking up a couple weeks ago, things were getting out of control. I feel so much better now. It's almost like going to emotional rehab, but the rehab center is also the DMV. I hope he eventually begins to see how destructive his behavior and mentality is. I'm going to start therapy soon to ensure I've healed and worked through the resulting emotional issues. It's going to be a beautiful life.

woahhh. receiving the permission to be angry lifted so much off my heart. i’ve been very mindful about what i say when i’m angry but i was trying to rid myself of anger or frustration entirely, and that’s not the answer! i am human and i will get mad, as long as i do my best not to bring another person down with my words or irritation i’m on the right track. this was my little awakening for the day, thank you :)))

I needed to hear this. My dog (on leash) was attacked by a dog (off leash). It turned into a frightening situation. Lots of snarling, yelling, screaming. Basically my whole morning turned into the heightened version of: fight, fright, flight.
And when I got home, i wanted a hot drink but thought REAL hard if I wanted coffee. Instead, I made myself a cup of tea. I felt so exhausted from this morning. And the green tea is calming my energy. I still feel drained.

I received very blessed news this week and woke up excited. I wanted to center myself with this new change and you have always been there to help. When I got my first cashier job and was living outside of the family home. When I needed to be strong for my partner and his mental decline . When I moved states to my partner’s hometown because a family emergency, and now things are looking up and a weight has been lifted off our shoulders. We don’t fear hunger, or eviction anymore. I payed my friends back, and now I can even send financial help to my mother. I start a new full time job as well so I feeling very blessed today. Thank you for encouraging people to live.

I had so many things going on in my head for the past month and I really couldn't understand myself. I listen to a lot of podcast, read books but stopped cuz they just didn't resonate, talked to friends.. but nothing didn't work. Then saw your video and found the answer....
I moved to Tokyo, it's a very busy city with people tryna do everything. And so here's me also trying to keep up. Hustling to get better a job, buying things on trend, partying on weekends.. I mean none of this is bad! But when you told me to do a self check.. I realized that I haven't even asked myself how am I doing recently.
So did it! and I realized I haven't been the calmest person recently. Believe me when I say, I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZED I WAS NOT CALM. I didn't even know that the the reason why I stress out so much is because I lack being calm tryin to do this and do that. And so from now on.. I am gonna start living slow.. "adjust my lifestyle to go back to my center self of being my best". Do thing with intentions.. MY OWN INTENTION.

I originally bought it in 2014 but never read it.
Last year a lot of people started to recommend it to me and one day I gave in and started reading it.
One of the best books I’ve ever read.
Ran my first marathon last year. Was tense, nervous, rigid going into the race. There was NO way I was gonna finish unless I calmed down. Focused on being calm, relaxed, and mentally repeated that and “slow down” in my head. And amazingly shocked myself on how my body performed. It’s amazing what we can do when we calm and slow down! Great message. 💯💯💯
Have you ever tried this starting the day making your bed or maybe going for a walk and intentionally getting up real early so you can.... also taking the time intentionally not to beat yourself up for being not perfect and acknowledging the world as it is as it's because what that does is actually make the day more.... for what ever you have in mind by taking off all that pressure and adding the intuition that you've already made something by making your bed /or off your to-do list , you know you might not literally write it down like some people do I know I don't but the fact that you got something done first thing in the morning or took the time for yourself together yourself mentally emotionally and even intellectually hay or at least for me that works ,

I agree You cannot control your emotions just your reaction to them. I achieved “Calm” with meditation. It took time. However with meditation I learned to stay present in consciousness When I was in my subconscious I would just react to the emotions that developed within me. When I’m in consciousness (present) and not distracted by other thoughts or feelings, I’m aware of these emotion as they arise and choose how to react to them. It’s empowering. When I use the Win Hoff breathing technique before I meditate I get a deeper experience during my meditation. Think about the times folks do things and think why did I do that? Because you were on autopilot in your subconscious. Be mindful, be conscious in the present, be Calm.
