Hi Tom. Another great video in your series Bushcraft from A to Z! Once again you have shared so much about Bushcraft with us. Your video is very well done and full of tips to help with tarp setup. I’m looking forward to practicing some of these setups very soon! I really like your resin jar and the lid you made. Very old school. And I think you found the perfect way to add the bronze broach to your kit! Thank you for sharing your video. Enjoy the rest of the week my friend. ATB to you and your family.

Also, thanks for the very kind shout out, I told my wife that you and your wife both love the blend and she says she is very glad you are enjoying it. I will ask her if she will share the recipe for me to send to you, she has NOT even told me what she puts in it! lol - anyway, I was so thrilled to have the ability to finally get it to you and instead of just a little plastic bag, I really wanted to make you a leather tobacco pouch / purse that I thought would go with your OLD SCHOOL style that you love so much (as do I) and you would carry in your pack / kit. I know it is just a simple leather drawstring tinder style pouch, but I thought it was an appropriate fit for your adventures. Again, all our best to you, and I hope one day I can visit Denmark and perhaps meet you in person and share both a pipe and a kuksa of cowboy coffee around a fire with you!

19:53......I have a much larger pouch on my belt for my fire kit. Pouch came from October Country in Idaho. They specialize in muzzleloader equipment.
But the pouch was just right for my fire kit.
I own a DD tarp and need to get it out and play with it in the woods. Get used to setting it up and folding it up to fit back in the bag.
This summer I will be hammock camping in the UP of Michigan. I need to learn to set-up the tarp to keep me dry from the occasional rainstorms. More fun during the week. God forbid in places like Florida where all kinds of prehistoric relics come out of the ground at night🐱‍🐉

Good tarp set-ups. I've just purchased a 10' x 10' tarp & will choose one of your configurations that has 3 sides. Always good to have a tarp to get out of wind or rain so as not to spoil and good outing when you have to pack up and run for shelter.
Beautiful pouch for resin that your Viking broach looks very nice on. Am wondering if there is any significance to the design and if you could tell us about it in future.

That's a Constrictor knot at 10:36. it's similar to Clove hitch but stronger and more difficult to untie.

I enjoyed tagging along with you. Never seen that walking stick/tent-pole knot before. You added that it's a Glove hitch? I keep a long shoe lace at my computer, I will practice that one. Thanks for the video.

Yes I wrote Glove hitch because I don’t know exactly what it’s called in English 🤔
It’s probably not the right name … but it’s a very nice knot that I often use 👍🏻 I learned it when I was a sailor
It’s used to stop the rope ends from split … hope you understand 😉 Atb to you

So are those cool little log cabins/shelters free for people to stay in?

    • @cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag
      @cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag  6 років тому

Yes they are … some places there is even running water and firewood free to use 👍🏻
The only restriction is that you can only stay at the same shelter for 2 nights 🌤🌲🔥
      Thanks for your question 😊

You know Tom its a shame as Scotland has beautiful countryside and forests like Denmark but we have no cabins / shelters like these. Firstly our councils would not build or provide them nor would the Forestry Commission …. a money issue! Even more sadly if they did do it our ignorant vandals would deface or destroy them. Sad but true. Stay well … atb Jim

I went and visited Bjorn on his site where they spread fear and despair instead of telling the saga, I sent them a link to Jonna, there is something rotten in the Kingdom of Norway, I'm gonna come up with old memories that will seem like new tales yet I know they started from real events and people as my memory will recall ✨🎡✨🐱‍🐉🐱‍🏍

It's great that shelter like this are respected in Denmark, in this god forsaken land here they would soon be visited by vulgars and vandals and probably burned down as that's what they always did to most of these places starting with the land of my youth where they killed an old man with an axe and stole everything before burning all the camps we had built in years so we had to leave. I still have cousins and their children living on the land and they all have to keep a close watch on thing. With more drone surveillance it will be easier to follow their movements. ✨💥🎡💥✨🐱‍🐉

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag The problem with my land is that from here I have the cold white north mountains covered with snow and when I look south to the valley below green o red in summer and fall and after seeing the golden sun rising at the east, looking at the west still in black dark hours before the sun reaches there. N white, S red, E red, W black, medicine wheel as we agreed to show it as a means of understanding our land and universe. Hope these tips will help you to understand old wisdom taught by elders here. and I WILL SEE MORE WHEN i GET UP IN THE MORNING CAUSE WE HAVE THE SUN THAT WAKES US UP🐱‍🐉✨🎡
