Alway learn something when watching your videos. Thanks! Today’s show has been brought to you by the letter “L” for labels. Will definitely start using the L shortcut.
This is astounding. Such a life-enhancing tip to click on the label color so as to see the text. And then click again to hide it. Presumably you can do that as often as needed? I can’t believe such powerful functionality exists. And then using numeric order blows my mind. This could change everything, I am so looking forward to trying this out. I think this may be the career-enhancing break I have been dying for. I have been stuck for so long, and bypassed by my peers, I was actually beginning to think I may just have to accept that I am a second rate employee, and even a second rate person. But not now. Not with the label click tip. Success - career and personal - here I come!
Thank you! I'm using this to collaborate with teachers and students while we are distance learning. I'm new to the app and appreciate your training videos. My favorite feature is enabling the color-blind feature to ensure equal access. Thank you again, I look forward to learning more from your other videos
OMG. Literally your first tip already blew my mind in being able to click to see the labels! I haven't even finished the video yet, but felt the need to say a huuuuuuge THAAAAANK YOUUUUUU
Great tips! As a newbie to Trello, this video really helped! For me, the very best was clicking to display the name of the label. (I use colour to also differentiate clients; several clients may have the same colour).
These are terrific tips! Thank you. I watched this because I can't seem to get the label colors to show up on cards when looking at them altogether from the board view. I didn't find the answer, but I appreciate all your other helpful shortcuts. After searching in the Trello user's forum, I discovered that the semicolon is a toggle with making the labels show up or disappear on any board. Another shortcut you might like to know :)
Clicking labels to show text (LOVE THAT!!) and using numbers to add/remove labels. Huge time savers that will really help me. I've stopped using labels because they're so cumbersome to use with mouse clicks. Maybe I can start categorizing things again. :)
Never knew about "L" or using numbers. That will save a lot of time, thank you! Definitely be interested in more tips like this, I use Trello for everything.
Shortcut "L" and search by # were my favorites. Just a question:. Is it possible to search for cards which DO NOT have a particular label on them ? Thank you for your excellent instructional videos !
I really enjoyed the number hack that makes it super simple and productive. I have a question though is there a way to filter your labels and know how many, for example a quantity number you have in that label? So for example how many greens and how many red’s? Can I filter that
Yes, in the Menu of that board, select Search cards and then select the label you want. At the top of the screen it will show you the total for that label. I hope that helps!
You know what???? I just realized when you do a search for that specific label it gives the number of how many results have that label. So it answered my question for me when I did the search. Thanks again!
Hi David, do you know a power-up for Trello that allows a manager to 'assign' a particular task to an employee, then see a list of all the things we have assigned? And whether they've completed them?
Thank you! Anyone knows how to disable Add a card in all lists except the first? Useful if you want to create a job in the first column and then move it across to the next lists only after it's completed. And what about auto generating a sequential job ID every time a new card is added to column 1?
My label color is on the side of the card. The left side, because of this it will not display the name of the label. how do I get my label to appear under the text at the top of the card?? I don't want them on the side of the card.
Hello :) Is there a way that we can have the labels expanded on one board and collapsed in another? We would like to have the read view of the label on one board and just the color on the other however when we expand labels on one board, it does the same on the other. Is there a way around this?
Good question, but this feature is not designed in such a way. The expanded or collapsed view of labels is determined by the user (not the board). i.e. I might be viewing the full labels while you are viewing the colors only.
another useful video on Trello...thanks mate..i do have posted queries in 2 of your previous Trello videos..let me know if you need me to type them here.
Hi scott ! Thank y ou very much for sharing all these tips that will be very useful to our team ! My favourite tip is using keyboard to attribute a label, I'm sure this one will save me a large amount of time instead of clicking and clicking and clicking haha! I juste had a question about the search bar, with the #, my labels contains "spaces" and when I use this technique of searching, it doesn't work, so maybe there are specific caracters to replace spaces ? (On google space is "+"), I've tried with "+" but it didn't work either :-( does anybody know? Thank you again Scott !
I do appreciate the introductions, but you can speed up - the first point could have been made in seconds. People are busy and want to learn, but when you take so long to make a basic point, it kills that vibe. I might add that clicking on the labels to expose what they mean would not make you look like a pro at all, that is one for basics.

Thanks for sharing your feedback, David.
THE L SHORT CUT is not working on my system
This is fantastic. I’m just learning Trello and appreciate your pace in teaching during the videos 😊
I'm so glad that you found this video helpful!
Two favorites ... clicking the label to show its name and using numerals to add labels. Thanks!
You are most welcome, Steve. Thanks for sharing!

Clicking on the label to the show the name got my catch. Plus the number game to quickly assign labels. This video has been real helpful
My fav was clicking on label to show the name. I'm new to Trello, but that was new to me. Thanks.

Exactly what I needed! Many thanks!

I watching the rest of your video and that was much more insightful. Thank you for those tips, they will be useful.
I will have to look at Trello again
Newly discovering your channel. Thank you for the practical tips.
One question: how do you renumber the labels?
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, you cannot re-number the shortcut keys for the labels. So keep this in mind when creating a label for a board.
great stuff!
your videos are great... question, if a card within a board becomes cumbersome can you turn it into a board
Never knew about "L" or using numbers. That will save a lot of time, thank you! Definitely be interested in more tips like this, I use Trello for everything.

I am a Trello newbie. Thank you!

Adding and deleting the labels by numbers. Thank you
Shortcut "L" and search by # were my favorites. Just a question:. Is it possible to search for cards which DO NOT have a particular label on them ? Thank you for your excellent instructional videos !
Yes, you can search for cards that have no labels attached. Use the Search Cards option (formerly Filters) within the Board Menu.
Great video!
Thanks!
Do these tips work for the mobile app?
I really enjoyed the number hack that makes it super simple and productive.
I have a question though is there a way to filter your labels and know how many, for example a quantity number you have in that label? So for example how many greens and how many red’s? Can I filter that

1-6 hotkeys are awesome

I definitaly like the Short cuts.

is there a way of using more than those default colors
Currently, you can only use the 10 colors that are provided.
is there any way to show the label name by default?
Is there a way to add a label automatically associated with a spécific word in the name of the card?
Isn’t there any way to sort all your cards by label? Like the sort from A to Z from Excel
I can not search the way you do in my window can you help me in that ? its not coming as you show , like you search in search box got red ?
Keep in mind several people’s introduction to Trello will be through iOS, so a lot of these tips only work on the PC platform.
Actually, these desktop shortcuts will work for all Mac users as well.
way to bulk delete labels?
You may want to look into this browser extension: goo.gl/ZYVLfj
I found that my colours have all gone darker in one specific card, not sure why?
Seems to have if i add a lot of labels, but if I remove labels it doesn't go lighter again
Click to show names!
So glad that you liked this tip, Phil.
You didn't show "How about seeing the label text on the front of the card?"
I do appreciate the introductions, but you can speed up - the first point could have been made in seconds. Nice video but too long. You can present same info in 3-4 min without losing anything valuable.
