Now I understand your previous comment about using Sine waves... Because everytime I opened a pure Sine Wave in my DAW, it just didn't sound like 'oh this is the bass' but now I get how the short/soft touch type of melody suits a sine wave! Let's see if this changes up the next few beats I jump into. Thanks again! Lots of gems in this one.
Hey man, the video is great, I think it would also be worth while to make a 40-50 minute version where all the sped up part was shown in real time, as it is the "little things" that make or break a lofi track.. you have filmed it anyway, give the viewer the choice.
Would love to see a vid on sidechains in lofi! Maybe about the difference between MNDSGN and Wun Two type productions? Harsh pump vs. smooth bounce? Staying tuned!!
Omg i have not heard the name Wun Two in so long, he's an inspiration to me, but how is Wun Two now? I haven't been able to find anything about them :/
@@WillHatton I know You Will!!! It's really Nice the Way You share your knowledge! Thanks man! You know which track I might suggest for You to check? Oceania from Chromonicci! Perhaps a vídeo... Would be great. Also, and I know this is sometimes kind of lame but I would really appreciate if You can support me on Spotify also. I already followed You. I'm bond77 on Spotify. Thanks a Lot Will! Wishing You the Best!
Nice one Will! This is the first time I've ended up just watching someone else make a song in Ableton and it was so smooth, fast, simple. You're totally killing it. Sounds absolutely amazing and your voice is very relaxing. Never thought of reverby panpipes on top of the piano for a real 'koopa troopa' feel! Very sick.
This was good but I ultimately wasn't able to replicate it since so much was left unexplained / you assumed the viewers knew the next steps.... thanks for the framework but maybe next time it can be comprehensive.
Thanks! My professional head says master it but it's entirely up you, if it's just a little free download on Soundcloud and you think it sounds good/loud enough - go with it bud!
love this video so much! the overall vibe of the video and your explanation was very simple yet helpful! hoping to see your channel growing! just subbed ^^
@@WillHatton omg no problem at all! just keep posting, your content is really high quality~ i'm sure soon enough your channel is going to grow so much! also it's refreshing to see lofi tutorials on ableton!! thank you for the videos and reply and will do :)
Good stuff, man. I havent seen your other videos yet, but Im glad you are taking on a more serious approach to your channel and like you said, adding something of value to help us producers trying to learn. Its good to be light hearted and stuff, but too much "slap-stick" comedy and editing can be a turn off when someone is frustrated with their situation and genuinely trying to just simply learn something from someone with more knowledge.
Trever, thank you so much for taking the time to write this! It has reinforced my commitment to the channel and I’m glad the choice is resonating with some people! Thanks for being a part of my journey!

"Setting some simple rules based around lofi music" - any chance you're going to create (or have already created) a video about these rules? I'm always curious about self-imposed limitations. Great content, thanks!
I’ve done a couple! If you dig setting yourself rules you’ll probably enjoy last weeks episode, creating a Lofi-sounding “sample” using only stock Ableton instruments!
Where do you drag all your loops from (the drum loops)? Everytime i wanna do that i download full packs of the internet but i would love to know an easier and less chaotic solution!
Can you explain the verse the verse and the hook? I'm having trouble with the difference between the two. If you can explain it in a comment or a video thanks.
Biggups Will this was rad!
coming back to all these for a fresh view. immediately went and got that Esta kick and snare

Great video!!
I would have liked to see the whole making of that beat.
Will Hatton I still wouldn’t mind for a longer video. Do you do lives on here? Would definitely lock in!
+1 to this
Same. I was interested in seeing the drums and mixing then the mastering chain.
Thumbs up!
Thanks for all the useful tips!
My pleasure! Thanks for being here
Another great tutorial! Great tip on reversing the ambiance for it being less distracted. Making a beat along side the video!
Share it to the discord when you’re done, friend!

Dope brotha, at what dB on the master do you mix?
Thanks man!
Try to keep it as low as possible, not to exceed -5 then bring it up when mastering.
Hey there. Quick Question! did you put anything on the master bus for the final result?
Good stuff. How do you go about choosing the bpm for a beat?
Normally go with whatever the trends are. Currently you’re looking at 60-70 BPM for Lo-Fi

Who’s people don’t like lofi music?
where does he pull them sounds from? Like when the white menu pops up on the right and he types stuff what is that?
