- We are the Wild Atlantic Way in our 25 year old classic motorhome called Herman. In this video, we visit Dunguaire Castle, see where the first transatlantic plane crash landed in the grounds of the first commercial steam powered transatlantic wireless station & we scare ourselves silly on the narrow but beautiful Sky Road.
We used the following maps
Wild Atlantic Way Pocket Map

The Wild Atlantic Way Route Atlas - Xploreit

We aim to publish a video each week, every Sunday at 4pm (UK time).

Thanks @seangrant1875 👍👍
We're glad you enjoy our videos
Blimey that was SO close! Couldn't believe it. Keen to get back to Ireland so thanks for wetting the appetite.
Our pleasure, Ged
Stunning scenery, reminds me of the very top of Scotland 🏴 Where there midgies? Em 💜
No, midges, Em but it was September
Great vlog! Strange seeing the route the opposite way to the way we drove it 😂 Blimey Zoe! That was squeaky bum time 😱
Indeed it was 🤣. Thanks @TheSlawsAdventures 👍👍
Hanky Panky. Zoe I love it 🥰
Yeah, the stuff she comes out with 🤣🤣🥰. Thanks for commenting, @lyndaburrzz9303 👍👍
Great Video 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Thanks @stevencoyne4971 👍👍
Best line in this episode Wow that is not what I expected ....That is very nice. Did you order expecting it not to be nice He he .
Hoping to do Ireland one day..... I mean one month as I think that would be minimum time needed.
Haha well, it was sweet and creamy, @Martin37vg 🤣
Ireland has to be done. We've now visited Ireland three times now for two weeks holidays (2wks Northern Ireland and 4wks Ireland). So maybe a month isn't enough?
Loved watching as always. That chowder looked so good.
The chowder was delish, Sue 👍👍
Great vlog guys. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for commenting, @grumpybear3229. I'm glad you enjoyed the video👍👍
The Sky Road had beautiful views. Take care Gill
Thanks Gill 👍👍
Lovely place Adam, great video, those are some narrow roads, talk about close shave..
Hi Wes, 👍👍. They were narrow but we've had narrower 🤣🤣
Guy's you should have taken some Peat home. It gives off some great heat and last's a long time. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe, enjoy and enjoy the rest of the journey.
Thanks @tstuart7333 👍👍.
I'm not sure how I'd had used the peat to heat our home though 🤣🤣
Love your videos especially your pronunciation of unusual place names as a Scot living in Ireland I feel your pain😂
Haha 😂 😆 .Thanks @jamesmcallister8611 👍👍
Hi guys, we are hoping to go next year. Just to follow a previous question, your map book looks a lot more detailed than mine. Could you tell me which one it is and maybe where I can get one. Also, what is the average price of diesel. If you are lucky you might be able to get my favourite food in my homeland. Corn ribs, boiled with spuds and cabbage. To die for but so hard to find in a pub or restaurant. Enjoy yourselves.
Hi @paddy4799, we mostly used the Wild Atlantic Way Route Atlas - Xploreit. You can buy it from Amazon using this link amzn.to/46JWAHU
If I remember correctly diesel was around €1.70-€1.80 per litre and it seemed to get more expensive the further west we went.
I hope that helps?
@@HermanHitstheRoad Thanks very much for that. Ireland is the best place to go, our favourite. Hope you really enjoy it.
Are you guys heading to Northern Ireland
Not this year, @doc64savage32. We went there a few years ago
Hi guys. Great vlog as always. Just wanted to know what action camera you use other than your DJI pocket?
Thanks Tony 👍👍.
Along with the DJI Pocket 2 I also use three GoPros. A Hero 3+ to film us driving; a Hero 6 to film the road and a Hero 8 for wet days. I won't be buying another because they are so unreliable. The only benefit I get from them is that I have a GoPro remote which I use to record while driving so the two cameras record at the same time.
Great videos Adam just wondered if you or Zoe had any Irish heritage 🤔
Thanks @kevinhayes7830 👍👍
I think I have but it is distant
Thanks for that Ads. I have the hero 5 and not overly impressed with it. Maybe will checkout DJI and other versions.
Well, DJI and Gopro both have sales on at the moment. And the DJI Pocket 3 has just come out too. A tad expensive though
@@HermanHitstheRoadThanjs add. Will have a look at DJI and others as want a decent action camera.👍👍
Those roads are rather narrow for a motorhome.
Haha, we've had worse, @ari.voutilainen 👍👍🤣
Hi guys, can i ask what map you are using ???
Hi @paddysboys
We used the following maps
Wild Atlantic Way Pocket Map
amzn.to/3s4UUJS
The Wild Atlantic Way Route Atlas - Xploreit
