When you disconnect the hoses to the backhoe while taking it off , use the same fittings on a hose to a control block with two valves. From there you use hoses to the top link and side link for tilt. Just make a temporary mount for the valves. You can use the valves for other things add more valves to the mount so you have more functions. Tip, tilt, and run your shear for example. Take temp mount off and disconnect hoses and reconnect backhoe all using factory mounts for it and no modifications. Probably cost less than $150 for everything to get top and tilt. I run a graderbox and also a three point hitch and rototiller. Works fine..
Big thanks for your video , I just did my BX2380 today after starring at it on my shelf for the last 3 months , I thought the instructions were a little vague . probably wouldnt made it without watching your video about 3 times thanks again
Awesome! So glad to hear my video helped.. that’s exactly why I made it. You’ll love having rear remotes and I’m glad you were able to also do it yourself, you saved a ton of money 👍🏻
💥 You make the best “how to videos” I’ve ever seen. I’ve been wanting to do this for quite some time. Now I just need the kit, because I’m sure I could handle that. *Keep on tractoring!*
Thanks Jon! Really appreciate it buddy. Let me know when you get your rear remote kit, I know your really gonna love it! Really Completes the look of the tractor specially the side fender controls. Only thing is I'm not sure if/how the backhoe would interfere with the rear remotes unless they mounted them different for the backhoe models or bx80 series? The biggest issue I see is if your turned around to use the backhoe the rear remotes may be in the way slightly but I could be wrong.. I wish I had a backhoe to find out, Def keep me posted!
@@BiffsEquipment I might find out soon enough on the BX23s, lol. After watching your video, i somehow think i need this, but i dont know why just yet, lol. I guess i just enjoy doing mods to our BX23s and this looks like fun. I`m picking up a land plane soon, so maybe this hydro top link will be a pretty good investment for that. I can`t think of a better reason to do this just so i don`t have to get on & off the tractor to constantly adjust the top link by hand. I`ll have to contact my dealer an see if they make this kit for the BX23s or not. EDIT: Great video brother!
@@D70340 very cool! I’m 100% with you, modifying and upgrading these little tractors is a TON of fun, I thoroughly enjoy it and I know John Ritter does as well. It’s a lot of fun to make the tractor your own and add mods that you as the owner find most useful. You’d love having a cab if you plow in the winter and the hydraulic top and tilt is HUGE if your doing a lot of rear implement work.. it saves you a ton of time and labor for sure and allows you to do a better job as you can adjust it on the fly to tweak the implement to the perfect angle for a better final product when your finished. Best of luck!
@@NilsKall thanks man I really appreciate it! I try to not talk too much but try to keep as much information in them as I can for my viewers, I’m glad you notice. My next video will be a good one so stay tuned for it! Gotta edit it this week 👍🏻
Thanks for the video! You produce awesome instructional content. Walked me thru the big pieces of my rear remote install today. Like you I was so happy to see no leaks!!! Thanks again.
Great job , yeah rebuild your tree shear , it will make a great video. I like your build ones the most , I think. Probably because it’s a normal guy building something that companies build off of blue prints. Great job as always. Todd
Thanks Todd I really appreciate it man. I will certainly try to find some time before it gets cold to re-build the tree sheer.. iv been sorta aching for another welding project anyways before my welding skills start to disappear! Glad you enjoyed, if you ever buy rear remotes let me know how you like them!
@@toddcaskey9984 Hey Todd, I would love to build you a pushbox only thing is with the VERY VERY limited space I have to work in it would be very difficult.. Building my own in that tiny shed of mine was extremely hard to do. If I had a larger garage which I plan to build some time soon then I absolutely would start building implements for people. I may be selling my pushbox come winter though and if I do ill certainly let you know. This year I'll prolly be running an Artillian angle plow that mounts to my FEL. The pushbox did a great job but the plow would be nice for my driveway for the backdragging near my house/shed and to have the ability to angle it when plowing that first pass down my driveway in 1-2 feet of snow. Only issue is its gonna be hard for me to let me pushbox go as I put so many hours/time into building it that it has special meaning to me... This is the only reason ill have to think about it lol.
@@BiffsEquipment I think yours would be too small I am getting a 40 hp bobcat tractor which is a Koti really . I would love to have a plow for my driveway it would be better.
Great Video, and a pretty slick kit I might add. I've been thinking rear remotes for a little while, and until just now all the videos I watched were all the same, people "hacking" the front system, and adding electric solenoid crap, this is much more what I was thinking for rear remotes. My only complaint is the video is NOT for a B series. HAHA. GOOD JOB!
Haha thanks man! Glad you enjoyed, they should make a rear remote kit for your B series and if they do it should be a very similar install to what I did here on my BX. Keep me posted with what you find out!
Great content! The part number is BX2419 for the rear remote kit applying to the newer Kubota BX80 and BX80-1 BX series tractors . It is not compatible with BX23s backhoe models. I recently installed the kit on my 2020 BX2380, very well made.
Awesome! Thanks for giving the viewers this information, I will add this info to my video description as I'm sure the install is very similar also. Good to know about the backhoe too.. I didn't think it would work with a backhoe but I wasn't sure if they had made it possible with the new kits on the newer tractors. Thanks for watching!
Hi, was ready to get this model, (BX2419) but on my BX2380 which is a 2021 model - The place that Biff uses for the two controls is in the slot that raises my rear arms, all slots on that side have a function, is there a different way to operate the function?
Man, I wish this had been out when I did this install on my BX. I still maintain the detail of the hard line orientation was comically bad. Great video and will be really helpful for folks doing this in the future!
That's great to hear Mark! I'm sure your dying to get your feet on the thing, I know I would be! Hey the important part is you'll surely have it just in time for winter! Let me know once you finally get it from the dealer and let me know how your liking it, I know your gonna love that machine!
Thanks man, no problem always glad when I can help make someone elses life easier by watching my install videos. Let me know once you do and how you like it! So far I really like my kit and it completes the look of the entire tractor and fender controls.
That's great to hear Daniel! Least now you'll have a few awesome install videos to refer to when you get ready to install it. Your gonna love this kit its very well built/constructed and makes the entire tractor feel more complete. Let me know once you get it how you like it. I hear these kits are getting harder and harder to find as they stopped making them for our older tractors.. My kit came out of Georgia and I could tell it was sitting around for a long time on the shelf and was prolly why I had parts stolen out of it. Thanks for watching!
Yeah buddy, I love your videos and the links on the top right when you mention previous videos and as much as you use this tractor it's freaking clean man, nice work
Thanks for Noticing Cal! I always try to throw links up to prior videos when I'm referring back to them or talking on the same subject as one of them. Thanks for watching! We gotta get you a little tractor some day I really think youd love it man.
Thanks Greg! Always glad to help, I love my rear remote kit it’s held up awesome and went together so cleanly! I plan to build some attachments that will utilize my rear remotes sometime maybe this summer or end of summer so stay tuned!
Thanks buddy I appreciate it. I enjoy being able to make difficult installs easier for people with my How-To/Step by step videos, always happy to help. Thanks for watching!
Excellent tutorial, You do great precise work. My dealer is doing the same type install on my B2601. Then it’s wait 30 weeks for the FitRrite hydraulics kit. Next Spring ☺️
Thanks man, that’s awesome I bet your super excited! I love my rear remote kit. So far iv had zero issues with it. The fit and finish from Kubota is top notch too. Best of luck with your new tractor I always wanted a B2601 myself!
Kit looks just like what the BX2660 used other than the coupler mounting plate. I didn't have to drill any holes. Enjoy having the extra flexibility. Jason
Thanks Jason, Yes the kit is basically Identical aside from the mounting bracket that holds the hydraulic couplers. Aside from that its virtually identical Another reason I wanted to give your video a shout out at the end as they can possibly get something from your video that they didn't get from mine. Stay safe!
Mike always coming with these bad a$$ "how to videos". Great job and sir. My Branson already has rear remotes but I still like watching your videos. I know I will learn something no matter what.
Thanks buddy! Really appreciate it! That’s awesome your Branson had them already as they are very handy to have indeed. I can’t wait to find more uses for them now and glad I finally got them as I’ve been wanting them for years. Thanks for watching!
Thanks buddy I really appreciate it! It def wasn't easy getting all those shots and be able to do the job while staying out of the way but I always like to try my best not to miss a single step for you guys. Thanks for watching!
Well you made that look easy enough. It's got me thinking if I need one. I would definitely like to see you get your tree sheer up and going. It doesn't look like it would be too bad of a job to beef it up. Now that you have your rear hydraulics, you could make the sheer adapt to the rear and have your grapple on the FEL. That would make some clearing jobs go pretty quick. Keep up the good work. Take care bro! ~Shook
Thanks Shook! That’s a great idea, I def need to revisit the old tree sheer, she needs some loving and TLC I’m sure I could turn it around again. I’ll def keep you guys posted on it 👍🏻
Thanks buddy I appreciate it. You know me I always try to be as thorough as I can with my install videos. Thanks for watching and hope it helps you out some day!
Nice job and well explained. Did this install on my old BX1860 though the kit was a little different. Do remember it was real tight for turning a wrench. Too bad Kubota doesn’t offer a kit for the backhoe models. Think the backhoe subframe interferes with where the block goes. Ended up making my own kit from Surplus Center parts using the backhoe power beyond loop for pressure in and out.
Very cool! I saw a guy do something similar on Tractor.net I think it was.. he made it work with his backhoe. I believe this kit could work if it didn’t interfere with the backhoe operated station. Hopefully someday we can find out for sure or not. Thanks for watching!
@@BiffsEquipment I did post pics and info on TractorByNet years ago so could have been me as I did set up one remote with a detent to allow continuous flow. I was able to run the backhoe through the valve. Was thinking I could use the second circuit to run a hydraulic thumb but never did that conversion.
Thanks man, I don’t think Kubota had a choice as space was very limited and how far they could actually bend those steel lines with out kinking them. As for interfering with the backhoe you are correct they do.. but this is why they don’t offer a rear remote kit for the backhoe versions which is too bad.. I wish they came up with a way to get around this as I know of a lot of guys who would love to have a rear remote kit on their backhoe machine!
I look at my mind and it looks like the back hole hitch is in the way of putting the remote valve on, far as location of ports they could do way better I would love to have rear remote port
@@eo1340 you can get the parts list online or from your dealer maybe you can check the parts out and see if you can make something work or bend your own steel lines and relocate the bracket. The bracket is nothing more than a piece of 3/16 plate steel with 4 holes in it anyways
I would recommend getting a top link cylinder with swivel eyes before you get implements. I used a rigid cylinder for my top link and the side pressure when turning caused O rings to leak and can bend cylinder shaft. Great video as always. Can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks for the comment Ron, I did actually think to myself the same thing.. with not having eyelets there isn't much room for side to side movement so ill be sure to keep my Messick stabilizer links tight which I usually do anyways. I'm not too worried about the cylinder as I got it for free so if it breaks or bends that wont bother me but what I don't want to do is break/crack, or bend the mount coming off the back of my tractor.. This would be my biggest concern.. I may end up going with a whole new cylinder when I finally buy a Top + Tilt kit so ill def keep you guys posted specially if I have any issues with my current cylinder. Stay safe out there!
Also forgot to mention that I’m getting rear remotes for my B26. I was going to have them installed but thanks to you I’m going to do it myself. That’ll save me about $500. Again thank you for the great videos and keep up the great work!
Thanks Dylan it certainly is the perfect weekend warrior project for your tractor that helps add a ton more versatility! I will hopefully get back to the tree sheer project if I find time before snow fall and see if I cant give it another shot! Thanks for watching!
Awesome job you made it look so easy it's been so hot and muggy here I took off hoe and loader just cutting grass can't wait till it cools back off to do some more digging lol.
Thanks Stephen! Omg you aint kidding! This heat has been unbearable! The day I did this install in my shed it was like a sauna in there.. I was dying and had I not had my Cordless Milwaukee fan I am positive I woulda not done this install and would have waited for a cooler day. My little Milwaukee fan saved me that day for sure! Hopefully this weather starts to cool down soon, Thanks for watching!
My kit should be in today, thank you for your video, I dont' think I would install it without your help and will save me over $700 of labor from the dealer to install one. Would you mind telling me what is your measurements for your cylinder when its in and fully extended?
Thanks for watching David! The view looking behind me or over my right shoulder is exactly the same for me.. The rear remotes do not block anything at all and you can still see your 3-point hitch or rear implement perfectly.. The toolbox was the very first mod I ever did to my tractor so I cant remember what it was like before I installed it but I know it never gets in my way or bothers me. Hope this helps!
Sir, that was an awesome instructional video in every aspect. Even down to putting the sticker on straight. It would drive me nuts too, seeing it crooked all the time. 👏👏👏👏 Great job. Question, you used the bottom two ports to hook up the top link, why? And, does it matter the order they are hooked up? Also, and lastly, what are the top ports used for? Thanks again, great informative video.
Hey Ronnie, thanks I really appericate the kind words buddy. As for which couplers to use, you can either use the top 2 or the bottom 2 as this new rear remote kit has 2 leavers.. each leaver activates 2 valves one valve when it’s pulled back and another valve when it’s pulled forward.. so it doesn’t matter which 2 you use so long as you use either the 2 top couplers or the 2 bottom couplers at the same time. You can’t use say the top coupler and then the one all the way on the bottom because those two couplers would be on different circuits on each valve. I only used the bottom ones because it was closer to my cylinder so I’d have to use less hose when I finally did cut them to length but that’s the only reason. I’m glad you enjoy my instructional videos, I hope they help out many people in coming years. Best of luck!
Awesome job pal! What was the approx cost for the kit? I would need to figure out which one for the bx23s and Canadian price as well which I’m sure will be ridiculous
Thanks Francis! The kit cost me roughly $480 shipped to my door which wasn't bad at all, I had my local dealer order it for me then once they received it they drop shipped it to my home. For the money you seriously cant beat the functionality that it gives your tractor and will also increase its resale value I believe if you ever go to sell it. The kit your looking for I believe is BX2419 for the rear remote kit applying to the newer Kubota BX80 and BX80-1 BX series tractors . It is not compatible with BX23s backhoe models. Let me know how you make out if you get it, Best of luck!
I was wondering the exact same thing , I don’t believe it will but we will certainly find out in a few more months here as the weather starts to change so I’ll keep you guys posted on that.. even if it does I’m sure I’ll be able to find an easy work around for it so I wasn’t overly concerned
Hey Dave great to hear the video helped give you confidence to try it yourself! I got my kit from my local dealer but the kit had to be ordered from their wholesaler out of Georgia.. your correct tho these kits are getting increasingly harder to find as Kubota is no longer making them I’m pretty sure.. my dealer told me Georgia only had 2 left in stock and I got one of them .. maybe ask your local dealer if Gerorgia still has another kit laying on their self.. you can also get a parts manual for this kit and order each individual part possibly.. you’d have to talk to your dealer. Best of luck hopefully your able to get it!
I just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed. I am enjoying all your “how-to” videos as they are just great. You seem to have the right mix of elements to make engaging videos! Question: I noticed you use a lot of Harbor Freight Tools. Do the Pittsburgh open end wrenchs hold up for you? Heck, do the non-powered tools hold up for you? And if you were to do so (and maybe you could do a short video on this) what tools would you carry with you on the tractor out into the field? Keep up the good work!
Hey Edward thanks for subscribing, I’m really glad you enjoy my videos thus far! I try to make videos that will help other tractor owners out and try to show things they may not know and also enjoy working my little Kubota BX to death haha. The pitsburg tools have been very good for me so far, you have to watch with some of their plyers, needle nose, and wire cutters as some of them are kind of cheap and the rubber grips always tend to slip right off when using them.. but their sockets are impressive I have yet to break a single one of them and I use them in my Milwaukee cordless impact gun/ratchets all the time. Their extensions and adaptors are also pretty good quality and so are their ratchets.. I have yet to break a pitsburg rachet. As for wrenches I use gear wrench ratcheting wrenches.. I have not tried the pitsburg ones but have seen people who have and they have not had any issues.. I would assume their wrenches are as well made as their sockets so no worries there. Doing a video on my tools and what to carry in your tractor would be a great video! I’ll see if I can make one like that sometime when things slow down a bit. Thanks for watching!
PS. I was an automotive mechanic for most my life before I got out of the bussiness and started doing landscaping/tractor type work.. I use to own nothing but snap-on tools so I know quality tools and keep my snap-on tools at work.. I decided to buy/try the pitsburg stuff just for my home and for the money you really can’t beat it.. specially when your not using them every day for a living. The Icon tools are VERY nice and I would say in most instances are a direct replica of snap-on in many ways.. so if you don’t want the cheapest but don’t want snap-on go with icon and I promise you won’t be disappointed. 👍🏻
@@BiffsEquipment Thank you so much for replying. Your answer makes a lot of sense. Keep up the great work I love watching the way you do your work on your tractor.
Yes I am, iv got 2" rear spacers on just the back.. adding wheel spacers to the front of a tractor does nothing for stability as the front axle pivots.. You can still choose to add some smaller 1" spacers to the front though just for looks which I have debated doing myself. I made an Install Video on the wheel spacers that you saw in this video I will Link the Video below. This video should answer any questions you have on wheel spacers.. LINK: ua-cam.com/video/DUuf1Olxd0I/v-deo.html
Honestly looks pretty easy overall to install that kit. Probably pretty close to the same for my BX2680. I don't have anything that needs rear remotes but might be worth adding them at some point so they're there if I do get something...I've been thinking of getting a hydraulic top link to make adjusting my box blade easier, and it would make adjusting any 3 point implement easier anyways. I've also thought about adding the 3rd function for the loader as well.
Thanks William, your correct it really isn't too hard to install if you just take your time and follow the steps I took.. I put the kit together in my own order which I feel was a much simpler way then how they had described to do it in the manual. You wouldn't regret buying a rear remote kit or a 3rd function.. both add a TON of versatility to your tractor even if you don't have a use for them right away.. And with each kit costing less than $500 a piece its a no brainer for me. Let me know if you ever decide to get one and how you like it!
@@BiffsEquipment Hi Biff, LOVE all your videos, I have the BX2380 model - it's a 2021, where you have the controls - I have the rear arms control located there and no slots that aren't being used, any suggestions?, I really need to do a Hydraulic Top Link for my Box Blade. Thanks so much for doing the videos - I've learned so much from them.
@@fx3vette1 hey thanks man I’m glad to hear your enjoying my videos! Always love when I can help others or teach others or even just give people ideas of what to do to their own tractors next! As for the rear remotes.. I know they make a rear remote kit for the Bx2380 they just don’t make one for the Bx23S (since it has a backhoe) so as long as your machine doesn’t have a backhoe then you should have no issues installing a Kubota Rear Remote Kit on your BX2380. As for not having the blank or open slots available this is the first Iv heard about this. Are you 100% positive that nowhere on your control panels on either fender have an open slit for these controls to go in? If not then that really surprises me that Kubota has done this and makes me question where the leavers would even go then. Your best bet is to call the dealer and tell them what your looking for, tell them your looking for the rear remote kit for your Bx2380.. they will be able to locate you the proper kit tho they may need the serial number of your tractor.. once they do they will be able to look at the parts involved in the kit as well as the Manual and should be able to tell you exactly where the levers are mounted and how they come through the fender.. they may have changed where they levers come through since your loader valve is on the fender Vs. being up near the loader frame like mine is so because of this they may have moved this slit or open slot to a different area on the control panel. I have never owned or even operated a BX80 before otherwise I’d surely be able to answer this question for you. Let me know what you find out cuz now I’m curious to know! Thanks
Thanks for watching Peter! Its certainly an awesome kit specially for the money! Only cost approx. $450 and for the money it adds a ton more versatility to your machine. God Bless!
I wish they made this for my BX25, really like the cleanliness of the final product but I don't think the connections would work with the seat swapping around for the backhoe.
Hey Ken, yah you are correct, you could certainly buy this kit and install it but once you did you’d no longer be able to use your backhoe properly or with out having the rear remotes interfere with the seat when you rotate it around. Maybe some day Kubota will come out with a new kit as I hear the same complaint from guys with the BX23S
@@BiffsEquipment Thanks, I've been looking at the kit and it seems like it's possible to actually mod this to fit a BX25; it would involve moving the existing "tank" line from the BH to a "T" on the tank line from the FEL since the tank line from the BH goes into the port this valve set plugs into. Obviously the line positioning would interfere with the seat but I wanted to put a line set in back and a line set in front so I'd just have some hoses made up. It can be done with the BH retaining full functionality, just takes a little bit of replumbing. Of course, the valve fitting with the BH subframe is a different story; might have to mod that just a tiny bit.
Thanks man! They do make kits that fit your machine only issue is I believe the backhoe would get in the way but it all depends on how Kubota Decided to mount the kit for your machine.. You may want to call your local dealer just to find out and see if its s possibility or not as it is a really great kit to have. Thanks for watching!
Would this work for a BX23s with Back Hoe? I'm sure the rear mount location and hard lines wouldn't, but if the remote valve will mount the same and main levers to fender would also work. Soft lines could be used to relocate the rear remote plate. Maybe there is a kit for BX23s with BH option, I can't find one.
Thanks man.. it’s all gonna depend on what type of ROPS your tractor has.. if it’s got the wide rops like mine then it should be the exact same part number. Best of luck!
You can get it directly through your local Kubota dealer or can even order it from messicks.. give messicks a call if your local dealership is confused as these rear remotes can be quite rare and many local guys at local dealers don’t even realize that it’s an option they sell for the Kubota BX but if you call a big enough dealer like “messicks” they will know exactly what you are talking about. They shouldn’t cost more than $550ish for the whole kit but last I checked supplies were dwindling.
Ok what would you use a hydraulic top link for? I have a coupla ideas but was wondering what your plans for it are? I do know my first time in a long time hooking up a 3 pt hitch brought back bad memories those can be a PIA!
So a rear top link can be useful when connecting rear Impliments specially if you have a “Quick-Hitch” like I do.. if you don’t have one then I highly recommend it.. they can be purchased for about $150 and will save you so much time and energy when connecting rear impimenrs and having s hydraulic top link allows it to work even easier.. I also plan to use the top link for a grader box and back blade when I buy them so that when I’m grading I can adjust how much material I’m cutting from the ground on the fly by adjusting the angle of the implements via my hydraulic rear remotes Vs. having to keep getting off the tractor just to make minor adjustments with a wrench every time I need to so it’s also a huge time saver for that as well. I plan on getting a hydraulic side link soon as well which will allow me to also tilt my implements side to side again with out having to manually adjust it
The reason Messicks told you this is because they technically don’t make a kit they are correct, they say this because since your model has a backhoe the rear remotes may interfere with the backhoe so because of this they will not sell you a kit for a backhoe version. If you want to try a kit and see if it will work with your backhoe then you need to call Messicks back and tell them your looking for a rear remote kit for a “BX2380” and let them know which style of rops you have; there are 2 different styles.. that is the kit you’d want if you tried it but I’m pretty sure it will interfere with your backhoe but you can prolly make a custom fittings bracket and some soft hoses coming off the headlines to relocate the rear rear remotes to somewhere higher on the tops where it wouldn’t interfere with your backhoe. Hope this helps! Best of luck 👍🏻
Awesome video! Do you happen to know off the top of your head the price of the kit? Can’t seem to find it online probably have to buy it through the dealer. Also, I do not have 3rd function on my 2380. Does that make the install for difficult?
Thanks man! As for the kit they usually cost between $450-$650 depending on which exact kit you need and where you buy it.. which is a super good price IMO and is worth every single penny. I think I posted a link to where you can buy one on eBay in the video description but I can’t remember but you may wanna check there first. Thanks for watching!
Hey Dany, you’ll have to go online or possibly try your local tractor supply. I don’t have a part number for the exact cylinder I used because this cylinder actually came off a snow blower. The cylinder actually isn’t the right type for a 3 point hitch. A 3 point hitch should have a ball and socket on each eyelet and not just a regular welded eyelet. At some point I need to change mine out cuz it’s liable to break one of the ears off. I’ll do another video on this at some point updating my cylinder and giving a part number once I find the correct one. Hope this helps!
Too bad the B2410 didn't have this option. There is/was a rear remote setup, but nothing like this as a full kit, nor slots for levers in the fenders. I did find a kit that connects to the trans housing, but not sure what it does yet until I get it. I think its to connect a spool with a power beyond built into it.
I'm wondering kind and size of cylinder this is? I wonder if it's just the right size or if you would want one shorter or longer now that you've had it for a while. Thanks
Hey Tekker, so the cylinder works well, but if I could change it I would add maybe an extra inch or two in cylinder length as it doesn’t tilt down quite as far as I was hoping but for a free cylinder I just had laying around Iv been very happy with it.. I do plan to buy an actual top link cylinder for it tho eventually because the cylinder I have now does not have pivoting eyelets on either end which can cause an issue down the road if it has a huge amount of side load applied it could potentially crack the ends on the cylinder so this is the main reason for eventually buying an actual top link cylinder from tractor supply or what have you but in the meantime I have had no negative affects using this cylinder like it was. Hope this helps!
Mainly the differences are on the ROPS or too bars.. the roll bar designs are slightly different which changes the way the kit is mounted. Aside from that it’s the same kit
@@BiffsEquipment I thought it might have been a valve setup then the other part is the port set. I know some places like to sell multiple "kits" to make more money.
Do you know if there's a factory valve option required to run a hydraulic top link? I'm working on a Kubota B2601 build on their website to submit to my local dealer. I wanted a hydraulic top link after seeing videos on how handy it is when using a box blade, which is one of the main uses I have for the tractor. I've asked a dealer rep about it, and he said he'd never even heard of a hydraulic top link, but also said he was still learning about tractors in general. On the website build it has the option: Hydraulics/Hitch/Drawbar" Mounting Base with Valve Kits None 1ST POSITION VALVE KIT (B1654 & B7304) PLUS 2ND POSITION VALVE KIT(CHOICE OF VALVE FOR 2ND POSITION) (B1654 & B1655 & B7304) I asked the rep on the phone about these options and whether or not they were required to install a hydraulic top link. I could hear him ask someone in the background and I heard that person say "he doesn't need them unless he's running large, multi-functional farm implements which he won't be with the B2601". I've been trying to research how the heck I can add a hydraulic top link, but info is difficult to find to say the least!
Hey man, tbanks for the question.. yes there are certainly hydraulic top links you can use, the Kubota rep you talked to didn’t know what he was talking about. The issue is Kubota themselves don’t sell a factory hydraulic top link, they will only be able to pull up the factory one. What you need to do is bring your original top link to a hydraulic cylinder store, even one like tractor supply should suffice and get a hydraulic cylinder that matches the length of your threaded cylinder fully shortened and make sure the hydraulic cylinder matches it when it’s fully shortened.. then make sure your eyelet diameters are the same size and you should be all set. You can also fully extend your factory top link and find a cylinder that matches the legth when fully extended too.. you bascislly just wanna mimic the size of your factory top link with any hydraulic cylinder that matches it and slap it on.. it doesn’t have to be made by Kubota, any hydraulic cylinder made for top links with those special eyelets that swivel will work so long as it matches your top link at the shortest measurement . Best of luck!
Curious why you used a hydraulic toplink without a check valve? I’ve been looking for a toplink with a check valve without much luck for my BX2380. Would you recommend one without a check valve?
Sorry I’m just seeing thus comment man, sometimes UA-cam hides them from me. I would def recommend one with a check valve if you can get it, otherwise it’s not needed but is def nice to have as you won’t have to worry about the cylinder ever bleeding down on you. Mine doesn’t have one because the cylinder I’m using I already had so I just used it cuz I had it, if I were to buy one new I would go with one with a check valve. Let me know how you made out!
Sorry that I’m only just now seeing this comment Dave sometimes UA-cam hides comments from me. I don’t know any parts numbers but I have heard of guys going to tractor supply and buying them from there. Just be sure to measure the length both in and out and a cylinder that best matches. Also make sure you buy a cylinder that has a check valve if you can so that the pressure does not bleed back on you after it sits awhile. My cylinder didn’t have one but I plan to add a check valve myself in the near future
Do you or anyone reading these comments know why they say this kit will not work on the BX25D? (backhoe version) I'm guessing where the bracket mounts on top of the fender it would cause it to interfere with the hoe in some way? If that's the case would rubber hoses and a slightly different mounting bracket resolve the issue? Any help with this question would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Mark, great question! Yes the issue is that the rear remotes would interfere with the backhoe and the lines and mounting bracket would be in the way of your legs and may even stop the seat from sitting properly when it’s turned around. I personally have never owned the backhoe model so I can say for sure if using rubber hydraulic hoses and moving the mounting bracket would fix this issue or not but one issue I know you would have is connecting all 4 hydraulic lines to the hydraulic valve that gets mounted tightly under the fender.. there is JUST enough room to install all the metal lines so there certainly wouldn’t be enough room to do all rubber lines as they are so much thicker.. you may be able to make your own custom hard pipes tho and use some special angled fittings to get the ports to come out more from the valve and once you do that then you may be able to attach rubber hoses from there but it would be a lot of work. I’m sure it’s not impossible tho. Moving the bracket itself would be easy but the valve has to stay right where it’s at as it connects to the side of the trans where it returns the oil back to the reservoir
The reason none of the fittings going into the hydraulic block or hydraulic valve didn’t need thread paste is because those were all O-ring fittings where the ones with thread paste are just like a standard pipe thread. Any hydraulic fitting with an O-ring or a bevel like a JIC fitting doesn’t require a thread sealer or paste. Hope that helps 👍🏻
Hey David, no the hydraulic top link won’t void your warentee so long as it’s installed correctly and your using an actual hydraulic top link cylinder. The cylinder I’m using isn’t an actual top link cylinder which can eventually cause damage. I plan to eventually swap it out for the correct cylinder tho so that it doesn’t damage the mounts as my cylinder doesn’t have the swivel ball sockets in it like a typical top link cylinder has. Best of luck!
Yes there is, If you call your local dealer or visits/call Messick they will be able to point you in the right direction to help get you the correct kit for your 80 series tractor. There will be 2 kits for the 80 series and it covers the 1880, 2380, and 2680.. there are 2 kits because depending on which version of ROPS you have they make a kit which adapts to each style. Hope this helps!
Hey Aden, I would give your local Kubota dealer a call and ask which options they have for your year/model Kubota. They may make a factory kit like mine but they don’t make kits for every machine just some of them.. if not they can show you where to get one, you may have to go online and buy an aftermarket kit, if so then I would highly recommend “summit” “summit makes 3rd functions, diverters, rear remotes, and rear hydraulic add-ons and all are top notch quality from what Iv seen. Kubota doesn’t offer a true 3rd function for my tractor so I went with a Summit kit I ordered off eBay for dirt cheap. Here is the link to my Summit 3rd function install: ua-cam.com/video/DFCrphw3hRg/v-deo.html
It’s been awhile so I can’t remember the exact price but if you go to Messicks.com and search the kit on their website they will have the full kit with pricing and it’s availability 👍🏻
He sure does, just enough talk and show bit don’t skip the important parts. A true inspiration.
Thankyou sir! I hope you have been able to enjoy my newer content as well! Sorry I’m just now seeing your comment!
@@BiffsEquipment I’m wondering if you want to make a push box for me . I’ll pay ya
Thanks for watching!
is the BX2419 valve dual valves as well?
@@doct0rnic yes I believe they are all dual valves 4 outlets in total but ask your dealer just to be sure
Hi, was ready to get this model, (BX2419) but on my BX2380 which is a 2021 model - The place that Biff uses for the two controls is in the slot that raises my rear arms, all slots on that side have a function, is there a different way to operate the function?
Thanks for the informative video. The detail was easy to follow!
Sure thing! Thanks Wayne
Very nice kit! That’s going to be handy to have!
Thanks buddy! So far I’m really happy with it now I just need to find a tilt cylinder
Great job on the video. Thanks looking to do this on my BX23s
Sure thing! It should be a nearly identical process on your BX80 so you shouldn’t have any issue following these steps. 👍🏻
Top notch job as always!!
Thanks buddy! New video coming soon!
Man, I wish this had been out when I did this install on my BX. I still maintain the detail of the hard line orientation was comically bad. Great video and will be really helpful for folks doing this in the future!
Thanks Seth! Hopefully it helps a bunch of guys out, appreciate you watching
Great video as always! Still waiting on my tractor, all ready but no tires, supposed to get it next week.... I won't hold my breath!

Awesome bro! I ordered a rear kit with my bx in May and I'm still waiting on it
That's great to hear Daniel!
Another awesome video! I truly appreciate how you explain every step in all your videos! Thanks again!!
Thanks Greg! Always glad to help, I love my rear remote kit it’s held up awesome and went together so cleanly! I plan to build some attachments that will utilize my rear remotes sometime maybe this summer or end of summer so stay tuned!

Excellent tutorial,
You do great precise work.
That turned out great 👍 good job!!! You got some really good angles I could see exactly what you were doing. Thanks for making the video 😁👍

Amazing install video as usual Mike, I’ll be saving this video, who knows maybe one day I’ll get one 🤷🏼♂️😉.
Thanks buddy I appreciate it. You know me I always try to be as thorough as I can with my install videos. Thanks for watching and hope it helps you out some day!
Another great video. Thanks.
Thanks Rich, I appreciate you watching!
@@chdinct6792 haha that’s funny I’m almost positive that was your post! Looked like a great setup you didn’t a nice job with it .. goof write-up too!
great video but why did kabota put the ports so far away from the rops they would be in the way of the operator when the back hole is on
Thanks man, I don’t think Kubota had a choice as space was very limited and how far they could actually bend those steel lines with out kinking them.
@@BiffsEquipment Do you happened to have a recommendation for a Top + Tilt kit? I will be installing my new rear remote kit tomorrow :)

Good Job!
Thanks Mac!
How is the view over your right shoulder, now that you've added the rear remotes and you have that tool box on the ROPS, it looks pretty busy.
Always doing something.
Haha, Yes Sir! Thanks for watching Rick!
Thank you sir, that was helpful. Have a good day.
Very informative.
Thanks Louie!

@@davidburt6676 awesome man glad you were able to get it! Let me know how you make out 👍🏻
I just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed.

@@BiffsEquipment Thank you so much for the very thorough answer. You do a very good job with your videos keep making them I love watching them.
Are you running wheel spacers? And if so... do you run them front and rear or just rear?
Yes I am, iv got 2" rear spacers on just the back.. adding wheel spacers to the front of a tractor does nothing for stability as the front axle pivots.. You can still choose to add some smaller 1" spacers to the front though just for looks which I have debated doing myself. @@BiffsEquipment Awesome! Thank you. Really been enjoying your videos!

Thanks
It would have been nice if the OEM would have had #'s or letters on the mounting holes and lines to designate the attachment.
Biff great wish had it
God Bless All

Hey, Biff could you please show a shot from the rear towards the front I like to see how close the valve is to the frame if you could please.
My email is “Mbifaro@gmail.com” shoot me an email and I’ll try to take a pic some time for you
Nice job looks great! crooked stickers are the worst lol
Thanks Darren! Yes we cant be having crooked decals that's for sure.. My OCD would kill me lol.
Nice install! Wish I could put this kit on my bx23s
Great job and very detailed, I wonder if this kit fits to BX2660?
Thanks man.. it’s all gonna depend on what type of ROPS your tractor has.. if it’s got the wide rops like mine then it should be the exact same part number. Best of luck!
Can you still use the backhoe with all that mounting hardware on there?
Nice video man. Does that kit come with the 11/16 Wrench, HaHa. Your like me if it fits use it.
Haha you got it! Sometimes you just gotta use what works right lol Thanks for watching Mike.
Where did you purchase this kit. I have a bx 23s
I plan on getting a hydraulic side link soon as well which will allow me to also tilt my implements side to side again with out having to manually adjust it
I have a BX23S with a backhoe. It is a 2018. Messicks told me they don,t make a rear remote kit for my tractor. Where did you get your kit?
Awesome video dude
Thanks Dan!
Very Nice…. Any idea where to purchase this same cylinder (for the Top link)?
Hey Dany, you’ll have to go online or possibly try your local tractor supply. I don’t have a part number for the exact cylinder I used because this cylinder actually came off a snow blower. The cylinder actually isn’t the right type for a 3 point hitch. A 3 point hitch should have a ball and socket on each eyelet and not just a regular welded eyelet. At some point I need to change mine out cuz it’s liable to break one of the ears off. I’ll do another video on this at some point updating my cylinder and giving a part number once I find the correct one. Hope this helps!
@@BiffsEquipment thank you!
Sounds like it should be a very similar style kit but not sure, let me know how you make out
I'm wondering kind and size of cylinder this is?
Why is the BX7322 and 26 needed for the BX2360s? What is the difference between the 2?
Mainly the differences are on the ROPS or too bars.. the roll bar designs are slightly different which changes the way the kit is mounted. Aside from that it’s the same kit
@@BiffsEquipment I thought it might have been a valve setup then the other part is the port set. I know some places like to sell multiple "kits" to make more money.
Do you think it would run a log splitter reasonably fast?
I think it would run a lot splitter just as fast as your average log splitter
Do you know if there's a factory valve option required to run a hydraulic top link? I'm working on a Kubota B2601 build on their website to submit to my local dealer. I wanted a hydraulic top link after seeing videos on how handy it is when using a box blade, which is one of the main uses I have for the tractor. I've asked a dealer rep about it, and he said he'd never even heard of a hydraulic top link, but also said he was still learning about tractors in general. On the website build it has the option:
Hydraulics/Hitch/Drawbar"
Mounting Base with Valve Kits
None
1ST POSITION VALVE KIT (B1654 & B7304)
PLUS 2ND POSITION VALVE KIT(CHOICE OF VALVE FOR 2ND POSITION) (B1654 & B1655 & B7304)
I asked the rep on the phone about these options and whether or not they were required to install a hydraulic top link.
Hey Biff got hydraulic kit on now looking for recommendation for hydraulic top link
Help a new guy understand why you didn't use the hydraulic thread sealer on the fittings to the hydraulic valve, but you did on the couplers. Thanks
@@BiffsEquipment thanks, that is really helpeful 👍
Will a hydraulic top link void the warranty on my BX2680?
Hey David, no the hydraulic top link won’t void your warentee so long as it’s installed correctly and your using an actual hydraulic top link cylinder. The cylinder I’m using isn’t an actual top link cylinder which can eventually cause damage. I plan to eventually swap it out for the correct cylinder tho so that it doesn’t damage the mounts as my cylinder doesn’t have the swivel ball sockets in it like a typical top link cylinder has. Best of luck!
Is there a kit like this for the bx1880
Yes there is, If you call your local dealer or visits/call Messick they will be able to point you in the right direction to help get you the correct kit for your 80 series tractor. There will be 2 kits for the 80 series and it covers the 1880, 2380, and 2680.. there are 2 kits because depending on which version of ROPS you have they make a kit which adapts to each style. Hope this helps!
I have a Kubota b7500 how can i get a rear hydraulic remote kit?
Will this kit work on a BX 25D
Yes it will, you will just have to have the backhoe removed obviously but aside from that the procedure and 3-point is exactly the same 👍🏻
How much was the complete kit?
It’s been awhile so I can’t remember the exact price but if you go to Messicks.com and search the kit on their website they will have the full kit with pricing and it’s availability 👍🏻
Cool kit, but obviously won't work with a backhoe attachment.
will that hydraulic function be in the way of the backhoe?
