Great video and I really happy you had a great time in shanghai!!A little tip, there is only one currency in mainland China. Simply speaking , CNY is the international name of Chinese currency, just like USD HKD etc... But for the domestic use, we call it renminbi in Chinese and we use yuan(kind of like "buck" in English) to measure it. So, they all refer to one currency .You're so great!
Disney need to create a new 'weather' lounge fly to prevent any catastrophes. Great tip. Imagine losing all your footage cos your camera got sweaty or getting stopped at passport control 😬😲
Thanks for you tips !!! I'm come from France and i will visit Shanghai in next august and there is no a lot video for tips and advices for this park . So thank you !!! =)
Of course!! I’m glad you found them helpful! If you haven’t already, have a scroll through these comments, because I know a few people have added tips here too!☺️ I hope you have an amazing trip! Hello from England🫶🏻
Visa should work there but definitely correct me if I’m wrong. The other option would be using WeChat pay and connect it to your card. WeChat is accepted everywhere in china including getting street food
When she said that Renminbi and Yuan are two different currencies😂😂😂😂. And in the Uk there’s two currencies too and they are both equal to each other: it can either be a pound or a quid. 😂😂😂
Great tips, thanks Shannon! I'll be visiting SHDL very soon, and will keep the WiFi tip in mind (or I'll get a travel SIM). My home Disney is currently Hong Kong. I've been to TDR a bunch of times when I was little. TDR is a whole different story since it's operated by separate company from the Parks, can't even compare them together. It seems like the storybook show is unique to Shanghai and HK specifically. When I searched the Shanghai storybook show up, the shows are slightly different but closely resemble one another. I do have to say that the Hong Kong show seems superior as all their songs are in English, and their live performance is consistent. If you're travelling to HKDL, do keep in mind that there's no standby pass for the storybook show (unless you're a platinum annual pass holder). You will also need to queue around an hour early to get the best seats in the house. By the way, Duffy the Disney Bear is a character that flopped in Disney World or Disneyland in the early 2000s, Tokyo took the rights, revamped and made the guy pop off, and it's one of the best known characters of the Asian Disneylands! I still remember the early years of when Duffy just made his debut in TDS and met him. Happy park hopping x
Thank you so much for this comment! And for watching the vlogs!☺️ I would love to do the Hong Kong and Tokyo Disney parks, I’m hoping I get a chance to do them soon! Thank you for all the tip and also your knowledge on Duffy!!☺️☺️
I actually don’t remember seeing any, but I can’t say I was looking so I’m not too sure. I hope you have a great trip in January! Thank you for watching🫶🏻
Thanks for the tips! Going next month. If I get a SIM card ahead of time I don’t need to go to guest relations, right? Also, do I need the app at all once I’m in?
Yes I think you’ll be fine without going to guest relations if you already have it sorted! You don’t necessarily need the app, but I find it extremely helpful for show times, parade times, character meets, wait times on rides, any ride closures etc ☺️
I can’t remember exactly how much, however whenever I spent anymore in the parks, including my tickets I mentioned them in my vlogs! So feel free to have a look through those!🫶🏻
Hey thanks for all those tips.... I do have a query about the timing...do i have to enter before the opening hour or can I enter whenever the time is convenient for me??? Thank in advance
Hi Shannon, so you said that the ticket you purchased was delivered to you in the form of e-ticket? then you said that we need to go to the ???? (sorry i did not catch what you said there) to turn into a paper ticket with the bar code... Can you please tell me here where should i go to turn the e-ticket into the paper ticket please... i did not get what you said in the video... Sorry... And also, do we need to determine the visit date when we purchase the ticket from KLOOK? or is it a flexi date? Thanks Shannon
Hi! Yes, so it’s sent via email and then if I can remember correctly, there are turnstiles just before the actual entry to the parks. That’s where you will scan the barcode on your e-ticket and you’ll be given a paper ticket. After that is when you get in the regular queue for entry to the park and you’ll scan your new paper ticket in the same way and you’ll be let through. I hope that makes more sense. Everything is sign posted and there are cast members everywhere too, so it’s not something you do completely on your own. All will become clear when you arrive ☺️
Hi! I never considered this as as option, but I’m sure it would work. I don’t think it would allow you to use Facebook etc though as they’re not allowed over in China at all, so having a VPN is the only way to access them as far as I’m aware. I hope this helps xx
@@ShannonTownsend How did you get a free 7 day trial on VPN did you use express VPN? If you set it up b4 you get to China can I still use it with a Chinese SIM that I buy from the airport?
Hi! You’re welcome! It was so long ago I can’t even remember. I think I just searched on the App Store and signed up for a free trial on one of them, but I can’t remember the name. Sorry I couldn’t be more help x
Ooo lots of things! I’ve actually done a video on what I keep in my Disney park bag if you’d like to watch that!? It was more specific to Paris though. The main things would be a rain mac/poncho, some snacks, water bottle, cash, portable charger and then I of course bring all of my vlogging bits☺️
@@ShannonTownsend Thank you very much. I am planing to visit Shanghai Disneyland end of the year and now starting to do some survey. Indeed, I found out the payment method is also the main problem there. Visa or MasterCard is not widely accepted by them. Even cash they also unlikely to accept as they less using cash for transactions so they do not have enough change if your cash value is more than the price.
I’m not too sure actually! I never tried to use cash, but I vaguely remember there being a separate queue for paying with cash in one of the bakeries☺️
I’ve just googled this for you and it didn’t give me definitive answer, however apparently there are ATM’s across the park, which makes me believe that you can pay with cash🫶🏻
Hi,I would like to download the Shanghai Disneyland app before heading to Shanghai. Is it possible to download the app without a china number? Thanks!!!
Hi!! Yes absolutely! You can download the app whenever and wherever you like! The only reason I couldn’t access the app until I had the WiFi was because I had no access to the internet without it. So I could access the app but I couldn’t see wait times and show times for example until I had that internet access which I got eventually through their Disney WiFi. It’s the Disney WiFi that you can’t connect to without a Chinese phone number, but the cast members at guest services fixed this for us 🫶🏻 I hope this makes more sense! Thank you for watching!!

just get a Chinese simcard you won't have EU Roaming anyway

Hi! I’m sure like most parks, you can enter whenever you would like to start your day!☺️ thank you for watching!
Hi! Where do you have to go to get your paper ticket on the day of the visit?
They do it at the turnstiles at the entrance to the park☺️

Hi can you please told me, is the ticket price including all rides? In park..? or I need to pay extra for rides?
All the rides are included in your ticket price! But you can also pay extra to skip the queues if you would like to ☺️
Shandon thanks ur sharing ur sweet time life.
Do you have to book the mickeys storybook adventure show on the day.
I think so! It was kind of like joining a virtual queue I think. But it just guaranteed you a seat. We didn’t pay any extra for it or anything☺️
@ thank you so much. I am going on the weekend.
Have the best trip!!!✨✨

Is it best to get a Chinese SIM card from the airport or get an eSIM b4 you go to china. Also does an eSIM let you use Facebook and UA-cam?

Hi, is it a must to connect Disney WiFi to use the Disney’s app in the park? Can I use my own WiFi?
I don’t think it’s a must! If you have your own data or Wi-Fi that you can use abroad then you should be able to use that also ☺️
