I remember saying after michigan stole the championship last year, "can't wait for 2024 season to make things right". Well buckeyes sure did make it right
Ohio State absolutely throttled Tennessee and Oregon; those games were effectively over by halftime. The Texas game was close because (a) Ohio State played a fairly pedestrian game and kept killing drives with penalties and (b) Texas has a good defense and plenty of talent to keep it close. That game could have gotten ugly. The Notre Dame game was effectively over early in the 3rd quarter. Ohio State took their foot off the gas and went into "let's just run out the clock" mode. Not embarrassing Marcus Freeman (Ohio State standout) might have been a factor, too. Ohio State could have scored 50 if they wanted. Notre Dame clawed their way back into it through a combination of grit, desperation, and luck. That game was never really in doubt. I've watched a lot of Ohio State football. This team - when clicking like it was in the playoffs - is as talented and dangerous team Ohio State has ever had. I'd put 2024 playoff Ohio State up against anybody and would be comfortable with my chances.
