Very clear and blunt description of the present relationship between USA and Europe. As a Polish citizen, I must say that we have no illusion about the the common European intrest. There is no such a thing. Very few, if any, of our "Western friends" will be willing to die for Warsaw. For us there is no NATO. Our security depends solely on the USA and maybe some of our neighbors in Central and Eastern Europe. It is time to get up to be counted.

Krzysztof, You are correct. When it comes down to it, Polish security is based around the US. As a force they are the only ones I can see willing/able to defend Poland. I also think that Poland is worth defending and on top of that Poland does have somethings going for it - Russia and Germany have very aged populations. I would say that the Intermarium will bolster your options.

Rybo Culbreth I have heard many of his speeches and interviews the last three years. I really like how he openly reveals the goals of the US. Here he tells the Hungarians „We are the Mob, our Military is present allover the world, you better hurry up and let us protect you.“ That‘s very simplified of curse but all the Talks he holds in Eastern Europe are in this vein.

    • @__-ox5kz

I've never seen any of the analyses you speak of. Analysis is taking something apart and relating it to the whole. If he did that he would not be able to speak for bare shame of the state of the country he tries to represent. But I tell you what I have seen. I've seen so much poverty in the US that the disparity between the reality of poor town America and the likes of this dude sinks deep. If the guy would expend his energy where needed, he would 1) speak about the horrific drug problems in the US, 2) mention the origin of it and 3) Present a plan of how to reverse the cycle of cultural decay that started when he was young, around 1965. The cultural decay cannot be reversed in a year or two. But the mere fact that Friedman derides a broad silent majority and a President who has attempted to reverse the horrific cultural direction of the nation, speaks volumes of who this man is and who pays him to jet around the world on first class, all the while "his" country is falling apart, piece by piece.

    • @rybojames4111
      @rybojames4111 5 років тому +1

Would you ask a mechanic to mend your broken leg, or a baker to fix your car? Dr. Friedman is neither a politician nor an ambassador, he is an author and a geopolitical analysis. Do domestic problems exist? Yes, we have many, as does every country, but reports of our decline have been greatly prophesied and exaggerated by many all over the world. To step back a bit and to see the world stage, helps to see that some of our problems are sometimes kindled or stoked by foreign agents/actors. Their interests lie in dividing us internally as well as from our allies, alienating us from our friends and partners, and distracting us with small conflicts that spread our forces out in thinner lines. Forward deployment in strategic areas makes sense, and the more cooperation we get from friends and allies the better. If they reject us, then at least we know up front and can plan accordingly. Contrary to what some believe, making no decision is a decision.

I served in the 4th armored division for 15 months in Germany. Our mission was, should Russian invade, to stay alive for 2 weeks until reinforcements would arrive. After seeing the skill (lack of) and equipment (3rd rate) of the European NATO forces, the only hope was that should something happen the US could respond quickly. When Russia invaded Czechoslovakia, things got very tense. The 4th armored division and many others have been disbanded and US forces in Europe are now minimal.

This was a fantastic clarification of the both the strategic policy and strategic commitment of America. As a New Zealander, gratify to be free, due to the sacrifice of America military personnel in World War to keep the Pacific free, let it be known that New Zealand and Australia stand with America. Both New Zealand and Australia are engaged in the largest military build ups since world war two, to support as alliance members America. USA saved Australia against Japan, made the USA weaponry companies very rich but at the cost of hundreds of thousands of young soldiers. Europe needs to build up it's own defensive forces by paying it's way to NATO, perhaps saving many thousands of their young soldiers by at least being a solid wall against any threat in the future. They know they can be sacrificed, only country that says any country that attacks their allies, there will be consequences and backed that up is the US. There is a reason why Poland kept up with the 2 percent rule and kept their military pretty active in terms of training and equipment replacement. Because they know they will have to do their part if the 'shit hits the fan.' Supposed allies like France and Germany will pretty much, stand in the sideline offering moral support. To the US, there is a reason they stopped giving a shit about these countries as allies because they have no intention to militarily support the US when they ask for it.

European citizens have no conception of private property rights when it comes to their land or their minerals and no understanding that a citizen can be sovereign over his own property. Americans have no consideration of federal rights when it comes to those things. In order for fracking to come to Europe every citizen in that state and the EU would have to agree to the splitting of the proceeds. In the United States the decision is made by the landowner alone. Every single US president comes to office asking The NATO allies to spend more, gets them to agree to do so, finds out that Europe is now going to be in terms of security policy INDEPENDENT OF WHAT THE US WANTS, and then they go back to supplying to Europe the continental system of common defence.

Donald Clifford US is investing in nations in specific locations and destroying other nations. They are investing in Poland, albanians and kurds. In Poland they have been pouring dollars for a long time. The main reason is of coure to oppose Russia. The country has been rusophobic historically so it doesnt take much to convince the mto die fighting russians in a few decades. The country will be a center for power for sure. Its the trojan horse of the US in EU and will probably will be the trigger to destroy it. The albanian factor is used against the southern slavs who turned out to be rusophiles as history progressed. All of them were given independence form the Otoman Empire after Russian-Ottoman wars. Bulgaria is a very bright example of country being destroyed by media and NGOs controleld by the USA. It is also in NATO, just like Poland, but the population is rusophilic and as such it doesnt fit in the plans of the USA - so no free money for them. The kurds are a kind of a special case but everyone wants them on their side cause they have high birth rate and if you can shape their minds you will have a powerfull ally in half a century that will die for whatever cause you want - the most obvious cause is Kurdish country. This will trigger a huge war invloving Turkey, Iran on one side and kurds on the other. I dont mention Syria and Iraq as involved in the war cause they are not real countries and their territory will be used as kurdish training grounds and proto-country.

Dr Friedman just made great case for Intermarium (3 Seas Initiative). Also, one can appreciate the honesty about collapsing stalemate agreement on Ukraine and Belarus. Soon, the new demarkation lines will have to be drawn - Yalta revisited. Central and Eastern European nations like Poland, Romania, Hungary, and perhaps Baltic States will have to be prepared to for changes that are inevitable. One thing is critical in this new chess game - US must intensify its verbal support for Poland and Romania with really meaningful actions in terms of investments (economic and military) - FAST!!!.

  • @wotan20

Mr. Friedman sketched-up a complex equation, with multiple unknowns, which needless to say, very difficult, or impossible to solve at the present time. His preferred solution, that NATO member states fess-up to the common task of holding back Russia, is not palatable for many in Europe, because it perpetuate our subordination to the Americans. The problem is, there are no viable alternatives: On one hand Europeans don't wish to slide into the Russian sphere of influence, but on the other hand, they lack cohesion and stark resolution to organize a strong enough independent force on their own, to be a credible deterrent against Russia. How shall the future unfold, is anyone's guess, but most likely, the aimless, wobbly drifting of Europe shall continue, if things remain the same.

Yep. European indecision and paralysis, right up until Russia invaded Ukraine.
Then the 911 call to the White House again BEGGING for help!
I give Germany a large measure of credit for this war beginning:
1 foolish overreliance on Russian energy
      2. foolish climate hysteria, making energy dependence even worse.
      3. German unilateral disarmament
Well, the peace and prosperity Germany and Europe thought they were buying at a very cheap price is gone, now.
Too bad it's the Ukrainians who are paying by far the highest price, however much Germans are bleating about high energy costs.
Keep in mind that under Obama, Putin was emboldened to grab up Ukraine
Under Biden, Putin probably expected another weak response, but was disappointed to find himself embroiled in a real war, and be on the putatively losing side ----so far. However, that came at the price of peace and prosperity for Europe.
But under Trump, who Europeans held in contempt, Putin was GOOD AS GOLD! Had a few thousand votes been different in the 2020 American election, Trump would have been reelected and I suggest there would still be peace and prosperity in Europe today.
      Why would there not?

WOW!!!!!! What an active, if rather stupid imagination you have. Most of the World's population haven't even met a Jew, or know anything about Jews. And RT, I would have to say you are one of those. 2) You choose to claim that Israel is not a Country. Well, you see there was this little brouhaha called World War One. (WW1) In this war, the losing side was composed of the Imperial German Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and the Ottoman Turkish Empire. As these Empires were being broken up into Nation States, the League of Nations, an International Organization of Sovereign Nations, was given the responsibility of organizing the break ups at the San Remo Conference. Out of that Conference came Accords which became International Law. The Treaty of Sevres (specific to the former Ottoman Empire) was also enshrined into the Canon of International Law at that time. The implementation of the San Remo Accords for the Levantine portion of the Turkish Empire was called the "Mandatory System". Various Mandates were set up, as Nation-State Incubators, overseen by a League of Nations Allied Nation winner of WW1. So ther were 3 Mandatories set up, The Mandate for Syria, which became the Nation states of Lebanon and Syria, the Mandate for Mesopotamia, which became the Nation States of Iraq and Kuwait, and the Mandate for Palestine (the Roman/European name for the south Levant, including the Land that had been the State of Judea, (Land of the Jews) prior to the Roman Conquest. And that Mandate became TransJordan and Israel. All legally done, all right and tight under International Laws. If one of the Mandatory Nation States is illegal< then they are all illegal.
So the next time you decide to lie on social media, you may want to remind yourself that there are people out here who actually learn something about a given subject prior to blatting out lies because they live in a weird Jew Hate fantasy world.

The only problem is, aside from Poland and Romania, Europe seems to be hundreds of millions of snowflakes incapable of envisioning a time when things actually will go downhill quickly. This no doubt is because so few remain alive who understand how rapidly things went to shit in 1914 and 39. Judging by the body language of the audience, most seemed still unconvinced that NATO should be supported by Europe. Kudos to Mr Friedman for making such a strong case for military preparedness. My only suggestion would be to avoid saying at the end of the presentation that America will be sending lots of troops very quickly when things go downhill. After all the excellent dialogue suggesting America might not be able help nations who don’t tow the line now during peacetime, pointing out that we will parachute in when SHTF might undermine the argument made earlier. Other than that one small correction, I’d say Friedman hit a home run once again.

Russia is a declining power but not the US, Russia is a 3rd rate super power with no control over pricing schemes of its biggest export aka Oil and natural gas, true to a certain extent but just this week Russia and KSA decided to control the production of oil. However not directly affecting the US for the time being but clearly shows the shifting priorities. Having said that I have little to no trust in KSA and other GCC countries when it comes to getting rid of their dependency on US for protection. Middle East a mess and mostly thanks to the American policies in the region, and now the war hawks in White House wants another war with Iran, if Iraq wasn't bad enough. The Americans by withdrawing from the Iran Nuclear Deal made it clear to the rest of the world including Europeans that all treaties will only be observed as long as they server American interests, if that was not clear from the get go. Trump removed the mask off of American so called motives. If Europeans are to smarten up, the first thing they need is to get rid of American dollar as worlds currency, easier said then done. America is lighting fires across the globe and expects others to follow blindly, but just like US Europeans will also protect their interests. Germany clearly understands this, hence is already making moves to balance its relationship with Russia, how successful this will be is not clear at the moment. In Middle East their is one country that is clearly in the best position to dictate its will and that is Russia not US anymore. George Friedman sounded too brash and arrogant with thin on facts or ground realities. Yes Chinese will be subdued, Russia will falter, assumptions assumptions and too many assumptions. Now maybe Russia, later Germany, or possibly France. Geopolitically the European nations are weak (susceptible to American interest) divided. Russia is part of Europe, and were it united with Europe, the USA would have difficulty exerting its influence.

Russia is a third world power.
Also Russia: Only country that has developed and deployed hypersonic missile weapons. Biggest and most efficient energy exporter in the world. Only major country on the planet not drowning in debt.

If Russia isn't already drowning in debt(which it is) it will be in a short while due to their demographic.

He's definitely blunt, but not necessarily proficient at reading the situation and most definitely no good at prediction. He did write a book called "the coming war with japan" in 1991.
Peter Ziehan is also a ex Stratfor guy who i found credible in a few areas, but not in his east europe russia assessment. Now i know where he learned his mistakes.

    With all respect the analyze
of George Friedman , just reflect the USA interests
In a European citizen point of wiew , Russia are not a threat for Europe
( Poland , Romenia and Ucrain ) they where Russia alies in cold war , they want harass Russia ? go alone
why a Portuguese or Spanish citizen need make sacrifices for other Coutries with shamefull behavor ?
Ronald Reagan and Gorbachov made a deal , Russia would let the Germany wall fall if , NATO agree dont advance even 1 inch to east ...Why USA broke that pact ? we Europeans dont want advance to east , Russia dont want advance to west
anyone can trust USA word ? they " Govern " have no Honor , no word of honor , sigh up pacts for nogghting they dont keep their word
We Europeans are losing a lot of our
, well-deserved benefits that we strive for , Govens say need cut a litlle on free healthcare because have no money , need cut on social security because have no money , at Education they cant because we would turn down all , but they try cut expenses at University level raising , So if there are no money , now they have money for militar ?
we going do a revolution , WTF ?
We citizens dont want go fight external big corps interests ( thats a thing from the past )
We dont understand the western cowboy mentality of USA citizens that allow milions of US citizens die because lack of heathcare
its a shame , dont have few milions for free heathcare for all ( healthcare can not be a bussiness , NEVER thats imoral )
but for war USA can have trilions , and thats ok ? , dump people .
Russia now its a comercial partner not a treat
USA want have hegemony in the world and we Europeans need pay more for that ? we demand that our Govens spend our money in free high quality Education , free hight Quality in Heathcare and raise Social security for ll
We dont need militar , we dont need have hegemony in the world , we dont want wars , ps: fuck all militars fuck all criminal wars

@varro We , Thats not true , after WW2 that block adopted socialist ( independent States ) and they beneficiate a lot with Russia , a son of a farmer could study and be a doctor or cientist all costs payed by the State , that not happen in western coutries , where a son of a bricklayer cant go to University ,no way and history confirm , lots of adults today saying , i could not study more because my parents were poor !...
recently they invented the loans just for the Elite profit more , never for help , , anyway Russia is not comunist anymore ( i wish it was ) and no trest to Europe , it never were , Today Russia is just a treat for USA big corps interests and Hegemony , shall not count with us Europeans to boost big corporations proffits
