Thanks For Watching
I’ve never heard of butter-bits! Love the pretty can!
I remember tuna cans with a key.
I thought butter bits were going to be little round pearls of actual butter
Oops
Rancid or not those candies looked like silk pillows wow.
@@daphne4983 yes sir
I didn't think anybody would be interested in old canned goods.. My ex-girlfriend had me throw away all the stuff was out of date.
The asparagus looks like something my cat would vomit up onto the carpet.
I think I'd take the cat to the emergency vet!
As someone who has two cats, I can definitely vouch for this. Sometimes the vomit looks just like that.
😲
Another Chris
I thought it looks like what my daughter leaves in her diaper 😂
Omg the butter bits look like adorable little silk dollhouse pillows.. and that is definitely the cutest can I've ever seen you open haha
I have never seen a post about gross rotten food describes as adorable and cutest 😆
Can I have a butter bit to keep as a pet
Inflation calculator says the asparagus spears for 47 cents in 1960 would be $4.06 today. Definitely some expensive asparagus.
less population and better economy. it's relative.
Boring
RTSchofield Not my fault you’ve got the IQ of a nickel.
The asparagus turned out to be the most (relatively) expensive can as well as the one containing the most disgusting stuff in this video.
@@RTSchofield Clearly not an intellect 🤔
Why is this so soothing? I'm not sure but I love it. It's just what I needed before I fall asleep👍
Asmr opening canned foods 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He also has an interesting/soothing voice, IMO
@@raisa_cherry33 Lol😂
@@VangusKhan Exactly, it's so quiet and calming haha!
I am watching these before sleep too🙈
"Tastes great! Yeah... these are definitely rancid."
So 60s air smells like butter bits 🤔
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice hiss
Smog was worse in the 60's
1958
Sure beats the smell of Bitter Butts.....new from Smokey Van Camp's! Ask for it by name!
Uploaded just in time for me to fall asleep to the musical drone of our beloved vintage can opener.
My parents had one of those when I was a kid early 90s
Or the musical drone of his low level sinus infection
Sounds luke ZZZZZZZZZZZ
Those candies looked beautiful. I liked the can it came in to. It's pretty neat how they had keys that twist the top off. I learn a lot from something so simple. 😊
your channel is so addicting idk what it is
kushpakk his voice is awesome and his personality in general is amazing
Yeah, I'm addicted, too! 😂
I had completely forgotten about butter bits until the can was opened and I saw the actual candies! I came along in the 70's and had them then......good stuff!
The golden butter bits container is so aethetically pleasing
Every time you open up a can of food from the 60s, it's like taking a trip back in time. I love your show. Very instructive. Thank you! Have a good one. Johnny from Montreal, Canada.
I love those cans with a key
Once you held up that pink lid to the Mrs Leland's Candy tin I immediately recognized it as one of the empty tins my mom kept buttons and other supplies in for her sewing room! There was also one with a blue lid too! I figure they must have been Christmas gifts someone gave the family years ago!
I used to love those butter bits when I was a kid. They melt in your mouth. I had totally forgotten about them all together. Nice!
This is where the Coronavirus _ACTUALLY_ came from
Yessss.
Patient zero... has anyone heard from him???
I said the same thing on one of previous videos BEFORE coronavirus!
Educate yourself more.
stop it its not funny, get on out of here
Just in time, cause I am booorred as hell.
Got hyped seeing this🙌✨
You are Wright it's a boring night for UA-cam.
Tru me tooo
Imagine the person so long ago buying these cans. Maybe planning to use them for dinner, only to keep on to them for reasons we'll never know.
History is quite interesting
The butter bits can is so pretty. I wouldnt have wanted to open it.
Ah the candy inside is gorgeous too!
My great aunt had the Butter Bits can and even the plastic lid. She kept extra buttons in it and it was on her sewing table. I recognized it right away
Just for curiosity I Googled butter bits and found some identical to your candies on Amazon for 19.95. The only difference it didn't come in a nice can. Thank you for the video.
Minus the nice hiss 😂😂
Raisa Cherry if it was on a tray it may have been.. nice!
Raisa Cherry
he would have eaten all of it & smoked a camel after it.
I truly will never understand why I and apparently a bunch of other people find watching a dude open gross rotten food relaxing but it always makes me so tired when I watch them lmaoo
They still have keys on corned beef. You said you enjoyed opening them, very interesting, thx 4 sharing
"This is the difficulty of not having any fingernails..." xD
😂
Nail biting is addictive. I thought I'd at least reduce the habit when I semi-retired, but now I have more time on my hands to bite.
I suspect the intense green of the chopped turnip may be added food colouring from the cannery. It was added to make the leaves look more appetizing than the dull green brown that the normal cooked and canned colour of the turnip would be. Thats why it stained the can and didn't change color unlike the asparagus.
All the cans have a NICE HISS.
Let's get this onto a tray
The dumping at the end, all I could think was: "hope he's got a garbage disposal!"...
Butter bits were called peanut butter pillows.... we use to go door to door selling them as a fundraiser for school...that time was the mid 60s
They were so delish! They still sell them today
Wow, cool!
I’d just said “I love Crowder Peas!” right before you said “Chowder Peas” and I got very confused for a good moment.
The hiss on the butterbits wasn't from pressure, it was from the vacuum that the can was under. It was actually air entering the can not escaping.
I'm impressed about the beans. Today it's very hard to find this kind of beans outside South America. I always miss them so much when away from home...
Brazilian?
Have you ever thought about contacting any of the companies that made the cans you open? I bet that the ones that still exist would love to see your videos.
He called them "chowder peas"
and "smokey van camps"
nobody cares about his mistakes
colgate house television You cared about your mistake and edited your comment.
I don't mind the little. I love his videos, regardless.
So does no one think of botulinum when opening puffed cans or is it not common enough to worry about?
I thought i was going crazy. I knew this was the second can of butter bits
I’d say the same video just edited.
@@frogjunk it is
Some vegetables naturally have plenty of nitrates, that's why some bacon have "celery extract" on the ingredient list.
these videos are so addicting, i always tell myself I'm only going to watch one and end up watching 50! love your channel! :D
I remember getting candy in those tins in the late 1950s and early 1960s usually around Christmas time. I always liked that you could reuse the cans with the additional plastic lid. For some reason I distinctly remember a yellow lid. You need to wear gloves when opening the cans especially the bulging ones. Not being critical because I do enjoy your channel but you would benefit from an advisor who lived in the 50s and 60s. By the way I collect glass food jars and bottles.
I do too, I remember my mother buying those butter bits, they were very tasty.
how old are you…
When he poured that last can out it looked like a big messy dooty dump...💩
😂😂
@@MrCeejay30 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I've taken mucousy blob dumps that look just like that.
They float btw.
r/youngpeopleyoutube
I want that first can you opened. It’s so pretty wow 😍
4:02 "I love opening up this kind of can with the key"
Me: HELL YEAH ME TOO!!! ENJOYING YOU TWISTING IT SO MUCH 😂
Am I the only one that thought "nice hiss" in MRE Steve's voice, when he opened the butter bits?
39 cents for bean sprouts in the 60s is no joke 😳
The militant Vegans hadn't taken over the World yet, so the price was still high.
I have never seen those golden butter bits! Super interesting!!!
This is one of my favorite episodes. I love when he has stuff from the seventies and before!!!
Seals made out of lead..."I gotta try one of these!"
I remember those bits in the 70's along with peppermint ribbon candy at Christmas time
Wow 47 cents was actually very expensive in the 50s! $4.17 worth today!
😬 I watch this when my teeth clenched the entire time, but at the same time I can't look away and watch the whole thing. 😂
Can you test cans from the 1700s next
imagine how our food will look like in 50 years
Vintage 70's can opener.
Nice hiss. Let's get this out into a tray... NICE!
Yes! I love it!
Do you display the vintage cans in your house? If so would you do a video showing us!? I would love to see The set up/ your favorite can designs
Omg- this was epic! Thanks!!
This ISIS def one of the best channels on UA-cam!!
Plus it is always fun to read the comments!
We all love this dude!!
The vintage can opener is back in action🤘
Those bean sprouts might be from the early 70s. My neighbor grew up in Chinatown, so she remembers the cans
It probably is. My mom bought several of these in 1975. It looked exactly like this
Every time I watch these videos I can't help but think of the Fallout games.
The radiation kept that food fresh for 200 years.
I love when you test the foods. I think it would be good to put a limit for any metals to help give a reference when comparing how bad it is
Everytime one of the cans sprayed I burst out laughing, I can bet that’s sprayed on the dude filming 😂
I can no longer fall asleep without these videos.
Nice hiss.
Let’s get this out on to a tray, nice!
Those butter bits look so delicious 😭💖
The butter bits and the can are beautiful.
I loveeeee the butter bits can!!
The butter bits look...tasty
You need a plexiglass case remote can opener for the pressurized ones.
I dunno if you've ever been told this before but it would not take much work for you to do a spot on impression of Steve Buscemi. Sometimes I imagine its actually Steve Buscemi narrating these videos and it is quite awesome.
Nice hiss 3:34
These look so bad, except the golden butter pillows.
Doing a metal test was a really good idea. 👍
I think this guy was Howard Carter, the man who first opened King Tut's tomb, in a previous life.
😂😂😂
The can of butter bits was under a vacuum meaning it has no air of any kind in the can it even says vacu fresh on lid the sound we here is air rushing into the can
Cool video keep them coming
i was watching something on adult swim about a week ago dont remember what show it was but they had one of your videos on there lol
you should put some of that food back for when the corona shortages come
Wahoo! So excited for the next installment, the wife and I have been looking forward to it.
Hope the Maine winter is treating you well!
Those candy tins are my favorite. That candy is pretty too... I bet it's a bit nasty. Wondering they still make something similar?
Sunday night is a perfect slot for a video from this channel !
Fun to watch! My parents had old food like this in their pantry.
*Me eats food from a week ago*
My mom: *GO’S BERSERK*
*Me eats food from the 60’s and 50’s*
My mom: **DIES**
I have introduced your channel to all my friends 👍👍 Thanks for the quality content my friend
Wow you posted this just 7 min ago! Let's watch♡
Am I crazy or this a reupload? Will still watch it anyways 😂
It's new just used one of the same cans
We're very addicted and dedicated to his channel because I thought the same thing lol
I know I've seen the butter bits before. Didn't remember the others.
Was literally just wondering the same thing... Lol
@@NewEnglandWildlifeAndMore thanks for the reply. Love the videos!
Shame this channel popped up for me when it did, because a few months ago I went with my girlfriend to clean out her grandmothers house and she had at least 2 dozen old cans of soups, corn, meats, beans etc. etc. in her garage cabinets and the oldest can I noticed was from the 60's. We didn't have the courage to open any of them up though lol, so they all got tossed. Had I known about this channel then I could have sent them to you.
I just watched a video from a different subscriber with washing clothes with 1950s Tide and and 1952 washing machine but your channel is definitely my favorite! You should do some old appliances and tools, I think that would be awesome.
I honestly thought that was Arnold from the magic school bus on the can at 1:24.
Chowder peas 😋
I love your channel so much.
Another awesome video
Why am I watching this right after work. Lol.
Thanks bro. Great blogs
Love watching it all go down the sink hehe.
The older graphics are always much more aesthetically pleasing.
Por que no puedo de dejar de ver este tipo de videos...
Is this a re upload or am I going crazy?
Right? I remember the butter bits part
I also felt like I was going crazy lol. I recognize the butter bits part too!
The butter bits part yes but the cans are new :)
Even the turnip greens part feels like dejavu
I used to buy those butter bits. They were so good!!!
Ah I always love to go back in time with you're videos. Great job man!!
Nice
I love this guys voice sm
I can smell it all the way down here in Florida. I think the military could weaponize that stuff.
You really should wear gloves. I’m afraid one of those cans will have The Blob in it.
I liked and shared. Thank you. 👍
You’re videos are so relaxing.
