@@guajardosteven36 The cars you worked on must have been put in the wrong place because the speed sensor on Tacoma's are on the wheels.
@@nicholausstraach458 no Nicholas with an unnecessary U, the Vehicle Speed Sensor is on the transmission. There is however a wheel speed sensor back there, but sense wheel speeds are constantly changing separately from one another while turning using that for speed isn't correct. That sensor is used mainly for traction control & if equipped your E-LSD
Video volumes are out of wack. Music volume is way too loud, and talking volume is way too low. Having to constantly adjust the volume to be able to hear.

Yes bad editing, always do a level normalize. Get all the levels even.

Had a 85 Toyota 4x4 mild trail rig and a 92 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 also mildly built! Wish I'd never lost either,loved em both equally and so did the kids on those dirt road and logging road nights!! The only technical ford thing on it would be brakes balljoints and read axle. Everything internal is not ford and a dana 60 is a dana 60🤷♂️

With the shock hoops inside the engine bay, theres not many options. Snorkels are okay but they can get damaged rock crawling as well.
Looks like a fun build and hardcore rig. I am surprised that wheel speed sensors couldn't be fashioned to those axles to tie into the system.

The level of fab and money is crazy. So glad Jeep still has the sense to put solid axles under their “off road” offerings. Come on Toyota, go back to roots for your TRD stuff. Nice build though 👍🏼
a factory solid axle option would be killer. the real TRD pro/offroad should have lockers as an option too
I have to say that's got to be the coolest 😎 Tacoma I have ever seen I went to many off road events locally and seen some nice builds but never a solid axle conversation that's a work of art! 👍 I respect the Tacoma my buddy has one, but I rather put $20k if that in my Jeep and go anywhere. Parts are regularly available for them if they break and easy as pie to work on. They are also a ton of fun with the top off! 😁 I too drive my Jeep daily so I wouldn't go crazy with the build yet 😈. Major plans coming next summer tho! I just have to get through winter. Hopefully I will post something soon on here to show my build plans and gain some feed back on what I should do! But keep up with the Tacoma! I would look into a turbo or supercharger setup next! Who needs a speedo when you have that thing screaming past 😂. Very cool 👍

Not with new gearing in the Axles. Numerically higher increases torque.
Its all about knowing your truck, my 4cyl tacoma is on 35s and stock gears and only time i have issue is climbing hills on freeway but who cares about going 50 instead of 60 on mountain passes. Its a truck, can go anywhere offroad in lowgear
honestly man with some bolt ons you would be pleasantly suprised.
Yah but the weight of the wheels and the reinforced undercarriages weight is kinda compensated by the light body

Sure it's nice, except for the fact you cant drive it anywhere. Where are you going with no odometer or speedometer? No ABS? He pretty much took what professional engineers from Toyota built and did an unreliable counterpart.

Oh nice work! I commend the people that built this taco for you. If anyone is looking to build something like this t's a lot cheaper if you do all the work yourself. Even buying a welder to do the work makes it all cheaper. Then you can truly say "built not bought"

Hi guys, have some question. In triangulated 4 link, when people say it got no side by side movement, do you mean like watts link which have really no side by side movement (given that all join are properly tight) or minimal side by side movement (really small, not as large as panhard)?
Might as well have done a cummins swap while at it

06 f250 had four wheel abs and Ford's speed sensor is in the rear diff. So I don't know why you had any issue all you have to do is recalibrate the computer for tire size. Technically you can program it for each individual pulse width. But that's complicated and we have GPS so just keep making it think it has a different size tire till the speedo matches. And this fixes the wonky traction control ABS that happens. I've done a solid axle swap on a Hummer h3. And it still had full traction control active handling and stability control. Active handling is just basically an electronic LSD.
