So much speculation on the origin of this whisky. The shop says Macallan, What do you think? Who knows 100%? Leave a comment. Please remember to like share and subscribe. Help feed 75 kids with the ad revenue , Patreon or super chat.

@@IRamOne_w That is what I thought as well. But apparently not on all the bottles. The shop showed me on the system it’s macallan. Some subscribers also think so. But not really sure. What I do know it’s bloody good. Appreciate your feedback. Welcome to the channel.

Signatory currently has a small batch 48% Secret Speyside (M) and last year they did a single cask decanter one labeled the same way. Since the (M) is missing on this one I am inclined to believe it is not Macallan? I have one of these but have not opened it yet. Cheers

It's Macallan. They have select casks (unbranded Macallan) they give to IBs (Signatory) for rebottling. Macallan also has 'official' casks used for their brand labeled bottles and certain IBs like Gordon & Macphail (Speymalt). 'Official' bottlings are typically more expensive and 'carry a particular flavor profile'.

Beautiful whisky Gert, Macallan really shines on the IBs. Try to find the G&M Speymalt versions if you can, they're gorgeous as well. Nice one mate 🥃

@@thewhiskyenthusiast cheers. Still not 100% convinced it is from Macallan, but it is lovely.

Hey there, Gert. Jean and I love the Signatory line. They are in our top 5 of independent bottlers for sure. Jean just heard a disturbance in the force when you said Macallan lol. That is her #1 distillery and.... it isn't even close. I know that they are currently not offering any casks to independent bottlers which is causing those that have them on hand to hold onto their barrels a little longer to stretch out their stock. Nice one! Cheers to ya.

@@MultiCasking hey mate, Not 100% convinced about it being Macallan. What I do now it is very good. People suggest Balvenie. Also not sure.

      @@WhiskyLoversSociety Glenfarclass character perhaps?

Lovely notes, spunds like a summertime banger! I wouldn't say it's Macallan. They usually disclose their "secret" with a tinny M, but it doesn't make it less of a whisky! Sounds to me that this could easily be Balvenie! Just a gut feeling 😅

@@NicolasMD85 I know that they did the M on the 2011 if I remember correctly. No M on this one. But the noted for me doesn’t shout macallan. But it is very nice and definitely made for my palate. Thanks for watching and comment. Much appreciated.

@WhiskyLoversSociety Always mate, thanks for sharing such informative content with the community!
P.S. Heads up for the new Thompson brothers Highland blend, 8 yo, combination of a Clynelish and Glen Ord, 35 pounds a bottle, just amazing stuff. Got myself two bottles today!

Secret Speyside used to always be Glenfarclas because they didn't want their name used by IBs.
For example, Old Malt Cask used Secret Speyside for several bottlings and it was generally known as Glenfarclas.

I bought a bottle last week. It seems to me to be very similar to one of my favourites, the Glenfarclas 100% Proof (60% no age Statement). The distinctive malt aroma is particularly typical for Glenfarclas. I agree it could be one.
