Do the images of icons in front of me when praying at home class as concepts and fuel the imagination mention in this video? Are icons the only exception to this? I have them around my room to help me with combating the passions and bad dreams ive had over the years.
Good question. Holy Icons are of great benefit for Orthodox spirituality. But as the Holy Fathers warn, be careful to accept any visions of the Saints, the Theotokos, Christ or Angels appearing to you. Jay Dyer has good talks on Icons. I recommend listening to him.
@@EverydayLifeLessonsABC I appreciate the reply back. Thanks. Yes I'm familiar with Jay Dyers material. Can you please send me a link to the particular video he made? Thanks and God bless ☦
The latest video also deals with the imagination and incorrect methods of prayer, leading to spiritual delusion. ua-cam.com/video/z5OyGivfMog/v-deo.html Even conservative Protestants know the danger of imagination in the spiritual life. In spiritualistic religions, the imagination is paramount in obtaining communion with the spirits/spirit guides. They testify to this themselves. Protestant teachers I know, who taught against the use of imagination, would be John Ankerberg, Dave Hunt etc
Don't be mean folks. Perhaps this person is having a spiritual awakening or is being led to one. Perhaps they are a poor delusional Protestant! These words being spoken here may very well be entirely incomprehensible to someone outside the church. Just as the words of the Bible are incomprehensible to those outside the church, so is Jesus Christ, the Trinity, Doctrines, Patristics, Holy Tradition, etc... Don't blame this poor guy, encourage him, pray for him. If he come back to say more ignorant things, be all the more compassionate. Be Orthodox!
Internet Orthodoxy is suspect, but this channel has good information.
This is great stuff and it must be working in Christ Jesus name, Amen.
You deserve more subscribers. This is great stuff.

Pray with your eyes open.
This is very insightful, but what about Christ using parables?

Why on earth did UA-cam suggest this for me?!
