The subject of Out of Body experiences is one which must be urgently addressed. In our era of New Age occultism, many people, not well educated in the Orthodox Faith, particularly in the writings of the holy and God bearing Fathers, are liable to fall prey to spiritual charlatans. These charlatans are fond of esoteric, theosophical notions such as “Out of Body” experiences, and seek to re-interpret Scripture, the Lives of the Saints and other readings, in order to justify their notions.
What they offer to the faithful is not spirituality, BUT spiritualism!
OBE’s is a common teaching and doctrine of such Illuminati cults such as Rosicrucian’s, the Mystic Order of MANS, Eckankar, and witchcraft of various varieties.
Whether one calls it “astral projection”, “soul travel”, “etheric projection”, or “psychic projection”, or “out of body experiences”, it is all the same, and always just as demonically inspired and spiritually dangerous.
The holy and God-bearing fathers, and the Sacred Tradition of the Orthodox Church clearly teaches against the idea in the very strongest words. The teaching that OBE’s can occur, is a demonic doctrine contrived in the most occult of minds. It is a soul destroying heresy, which needs to refuted and struggled against, precisely because it opens those who believe in it to demonic influences and delusions of the most terrible kind.

That is not true. It is written in the Holy Bible.
Corinthians 12:2-4 (NASB):
2 I know a man in Christ, who fourteen years ago-whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows-such a man was caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I know how such a man-whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows- 4 was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted
