This is fucking brilliant.
I've listened to this session over a lot of time. How can you not get into this? 🤠
holy mother of Moses what mastery, i am sitting here, barely clothed, transfixed at the majesty before my eyes
I can't tell how many times I've watched this video. I just love it!
Same
I think I stumbled ion this band once before but wasn't quite ready, because the name seemed so familiar. Now I am in love with everything I have heard. Damn Ninja Tune records has been killing for years now. Skalpel is one of my favorites for life! This band though is insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That sax comes in so smooth at 3:40
bass clarinet not sax
i saw jaga jazzist in asheville, nc just last week and it was amazing. hands down one of the top5 best shows ive ever seen. , and we get a lot of good music coming thru here. thanks so much you are amazing musicians. please come back!
Joshua Spiceland I was there too! :) That show was so excellent. This entire album is great.
Cool I used to live there back in 92 but I stumbled on this band by a little band called crying they talked about some of there favorite shows it was an audio tree show
More studio videos like this please! This is absolutely my favorite song/video every time I watch it. Friggin love you guys
Ok. This performance needs to be what aliens first hear when they make contact. They might take our kind serious.
I've been looking forward to hearing this Oban Live recording. I grabbed my headphones and settled down for a nap with JJ's instrumentation simmering in my ears, instead now my adrenalin is way turned up! Goodness me. Powerful stuff, phenomenal, mind-blowing. WOW!!!
I swear I love it when electronic musicians actually get together and perform in a group! Horns are a bonus
these are jazz musicians getting together to play electronic fusion music :)
such a progression- from then to NOW
the most on point band of 2015
3 thumbs down???!!! jalous haters, plus they know nothing about music...
You deserve to be recognized for the hard work and the good taste! Keep on rock & jazzin' ^.^ !
this new record is exactly what i need right now. most creative band going if you ask me. so much texture and emotion within such ridiculous compositions. live execution is also incredible. thank you for existing!
bob deveau Thanks! That's so nice to hear. Good times
+Martin Horntveth
+Anti Agenda i've seen papadosio around 20 times, and gotta give it to jaga jazzist on this one. wouldn't be surprised if they listen to jaga for inspiration from time to time. dosio are great, one of my favorite bands to see live (most recently at hulaween, when they were jamming that new material), and are notably strong in the studio as well, but i don't think anything can compare to the boundless creativity and wonderfully complex musicianship that jaga have showcased for multiple decades.
Well, to me music isn't a competition. There is no better or worse(to a degree), only opinions and preference. I am sure neither of these bands are trying to one up the other. If you are busy comparing bands, you aren't listening to the music.
This video and a drum duel with Phil Collins and Chester Tomson live song the cage makes me climb the walls both do
Dear friends of Ninja Tune, I'll be back on the field as a live engineer and designer with JJ, if you'll ever need (ups, you already had the big Asle Karstad)!! With love, true acoustic and synthetic love for music
This band blow my mind...i hope they come to play to Argentina. I love them, crazy talented people.
That is so sick! Thank you for creating such beautiful sounds! I have to get Starfire on Vinyl it's a must have!
Robert Seniuta Music That's true !
This tune is my #1 fav from them!
absolute perfection guys.
still soooo goood
I am way too excited to see them in Asheville later this month. I never thought they'd come here!
great city, great band. now we just need to figure out how to get them to make it out here to austin. seems like they're more privy to the coasts + chicago.
this is the music musicians listen to. because we appreciate how smart it is and aren't drawn in by that pop shit..
Fantastic experience! Incredible sound and live performance, I got 4 adds in between, BLASPHEMY UA-cam!
this gives me tron blues-rock vibes. too good to be true
спасибо

ох твоюююжжмать
@ 3:04 Steve Buscemi playing the guitar :)
What are the lyrics?
i find the lack of thom yorke disturbing
Oh a Radiohead fan that only see Radiohead everywhere
Psyco Naut there are some similarities, at least sound-wise. radiohead's song "Bloom" comes to mind. obviously radiohead are more about the songwriting and these guys are all about instrumental crazyness, but who knows if they'd actually sound like this without radiohead's influence in these last 20 yrs.
LeonardMcrendall this guys are playing since 1994...
The fanbase of bands like Radiohead is truly anoying. They think that the bands that they hear are living gods that touchs everything that emerge on Earth.
What are the similarities? the fact that they both use synths? That song that you mentioned in your comment have a regular riff and a regular drum base that is repeated like a loop the whole fucking song. You can't compare it with a song that have a melody that flows over time like in Oban. Oh! but bloom have also wind instruments... yes, Radiohead was the first band using wind instruments....
not a fan of radiohead or any artist, fan is short for fanatic and I'm not. I criticize each album and song seperately.
regarding my original comment, i think yorke's vocals would suit this song well. i didn't respond to you in the first place because i thought it was a joke, but it turns out you're a jerk, with its head up your ass.
never mind the fact, that you answered to imaginary objections you though we'd have. lol
and music-wise you can compare anything with virtually anything if you want to.
not to mention that unlike you, jaga jazzist are quite fond of radiohead:

Ok, you are not a Radiohead fan. It does not take away the fact that the fanbase of those kind of band are annoying as fuck. I'm not talking about Radiohead or Radiohead's music, but the imaginary that surround them.
Anyway, if you said something like "i found the lack of (insert name)" you sound like a fan...
Band in Welfare State never thinking about money and ears outside their house
+ibay hakkie actually, at least as of a few years ago, most of them had to work other jobs because they don't make enough money from the band's income. 10+ members can have that effect....
hopefully that's different now. this band should be free from worldly concerns forever so that they can continue focusing on music and inspiring the planet with their divine compositions.
Ouch. This sucks.
My ears are now fat! overfull of awesomeness!
Tortoise vibes,really good
