@@evep9515Me, too. I was born in '81, and Soul Train was playing the same morning my mother gave birth to me, on a Saturday lol. And trust, this show brought on an entire family gathering during those years as we would all sit directly in front of our television and watch with pride. Not to mention, we were doing the same dance moves at our local neighborhood house's dance nights, in the late '80s. Of course, I swore I was grown lmao. God, I treasure those memories. 🤎
Had that album, loaned it like a dummy, haven't heard this cut since! Lot's of that music from that you could play now, and they would think it was fresh out the box! You hear me stations!? I dare ya!!
The late 80’s/early 90’s Soul Train lines are perhaps the best. Nothing is compared to the very early 70’s lines but the craziness and the funky music makes this very entertaining.
I had to watch this again. Lawd, I miss these times. It stirred something up in me. Brought back sooo many memories. I wonder what went Wong after these years. Just having a good time. I agree with another commenter- Just have a good time! No matter who you are, you're going to admire someone on Soul Train. In a way you see yourself. Wether they are on the floor or on stage. Black, White, Whoever. Fat or Skinny. In the words of the Great Comedian Katt Williams( using not exact words but same meaning). " It's going Down! Just Enjoy! 😂😂😂😂. Started watching in the Mid 70's. As a child, on Saturdays, my family would watch American Bandstand( Dick Clark)another Legend- because he would put Black artists on when nobody else would. During the Summer Dick would have a Dance Contest. Then Soul Train and Wrestling😂😂😂. You'd probably get shot if you'd walk in front of the TV when these three shows were on at the time😂😂😂😂. The Weekends were Truly a Treat! 😄

Is there a whatever happened to with some of the other dancers? Like the 2 guys that danced together and the woman in the pink and white? I noticed they’re in a lot of the mid 80s episodes.
@@vinx3407 The guys are fine. It's the girls who are there to be eye candy instead of actually dance well who irritate me. Even some of the black girls in this video are dancing terribly. The one at 1:27 definitely knows what she's doing though
@@a.b.s_productions I agree! As a woman myself I'm embarrassed to see the ladies jump to stripper mode as opposed to DANCING! I was still a child at this point, so my parents no longer allowed us to watch it! I now see why!
That cut by Jessie Johnson was a banger..!!

I think this song may be challenging to dance to. Everyone looks kind of off rhythm. It's a GREAT song though
I did notice that a few dancers looked off-beat.
no the dancers were just worse in the 80s compared to the 70s especially the annoying non blacks they keep getting who cant move for shit

Cherilyn Hannen Soul Train lines went down hill by 1993, and so did the music. The music went from dance music to just hip hop.
