They like to control the "official numbers", so much so that they've been known to blacklist owners who allow their cars to be driven by automotive journalists and/or youtubers. By contrast, Rimac is throwing our favorite youtubers in the seat and letting them show the performance numbers freely. While breaking world records. It's a breath of fresh air.

Reason why he is doing this is because at home he was for years accused he is releasing paperware - none existing cars. You can probably imagine it to smallest detail, haters are the same everywhere, plus some extra dirty underwear he is constantly being accused for by haters. Regardless of all the haters he has achieved all this from one of the worlds "shi*hole" meaning country not very friendly for innovations or entrepreneurs. You have to love the Rimac as a company and collective also! They have almost impossible, unbelievable technology and at the same time they love sharing this phenomenal car, I am sure the discount part was no joke and was also from the heart.) Yeah EV's are really coming into prominence now. Rimac has done a great job showcasing the performance that is possible and the styling of the car is fantastic. It even wears a tie as a nod to it's Croatian roots. I've been to the drags and watched 10s passes from some very powerful cars built to drag race. Mid 8s is insane on a production car.
Double the HP of Model S Plaid and only .5 to .6 quicker over the quarter. Oh yes. And you can buy like 20x Model S plaid for one of these. Pound for pound. Dollar for dollar. Plaid S is a lot better. For 2000Hp this car’s performance is exceptionally disappointing. Tesla Roadster is going to destroy this Rimac underperformer.
Pretty awesome of the Plaid owner to let you drag test it. But that Nevera is on another level holy shit. And kudos to Rimac on reaching out to you, that's badass!

Before the discussion starts. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid is quick but not quicker. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid delivers it‘s stats being a 5 seater Sedan. But still the Rimac is the fastest. Both cater to different people, prices and markets. Rimac is a 2.4 Million Dollar Megacar with only 150 being produced and Tesla Model S Plaid is a 140k Sedan in mass production. Yes the Tesla Roadster is coming, but not before 2023 and the stats are yet to see. Competition gives us the best Products. We should be happy to have both Tesla and Rimac.

What many people may not know is that the founder of Rimac (Mate Rimac) actually used to drag race himself at 19 years of age. He did so with his very own BMW 3 series EV conversion that set several world records. And now you may see how it makes sense why he is so gracious to setup an event such as this one.
Rimac said that they electronically limited the speed because the street tires can't handle more power ,, so if they put drag race tires ,, then they could also release more power and better top speed with the update ,, crazy, imagine that,,now i want to see that

It s only a matter of where you want to put the Money; of a Little Company Like koenigsegg could make a 600hp 3cyl, 2.0lt camless 70kg engine, a big company could easily develope a 2000hp ultra efficient petrol ( maybe e-fuel) engined ultra-light Supercar that for sure could be ran faster than rimac; or even a 2 cyl 200hp citycar way lighter than a heavy battery EV. It s all about deciding what technology have to be develope.

@@Lordcamilo2 you don't know what you're talking about, instant torque is a small fraction as to why evs accelerate faster...ice have trouble with putting power down and maintaining grip...I believe that has more to do with it than torque....not to mention this and the plaid have way more hp than all top supercars...

Absolutely love this car. One thing they can improve in the future is definitely the refresh rate of the screen in the middle. It would make the user experience so much better if the screen is more responsive. Anyway, absolutely my top fav cars edit: just finished watching the entire video, gosh cut off 1 second from the production car 1/4 mile world record. Am i getting it right? holy moly!
I think it is a problem of optimizing software, and Rimac have open position for Android developers etc. So i am sure they will fix it, and in fact, fixing that is the easiest part in process of creating such a monster from a scratch.

He is, I've read some interviews of his in Croatian newspapers, and I would add he is quite sensible, and forward looking too imo. Miro, the test driver, has a nice, subtle sense of humor as I remember from his interview I once read. Best description of Mate I heard was from Top Gear/Grand Tour guys, a petrol head who decided that electric cars are the best course for more speed in cars, and than he decided to follow his decision through.
Mate Rimac is ALL that Tesla fans think Elon is, and then some. He's totally self made and he's NOT a banker at heart. A great engineer, visionair, business man, leader and all around nice guy. Mate is defintely strong with the Light Side.
I agree when it comes to torque and HP fun, sucks for distance and charging times which make it a short commuter and drag racer. Granted, if you can afford this monster, you'll probably have plenty of gas cars too and possibly a diesel or two LOL.

For example, The Tesla Supercharger allowing you to charge your car up to *200 miles in 15 minutes.* When you are on a trip, you need at least one 15 minutes rest pause every 200 miles. What is better to spend that time in a clean silent green environment with pleasant restaurant nearby, just plug in and enjoy your rest. At home or at the office you can just plug in and charge so you *never* have to visit a station on regular days again. There are plenty oppertunities to charge without losing your time. I'm afraid with gasoline you won't have those options.

I'm not an math engineer but even the NASA is using metric, several of catastrophic mistakes done in NASA and other important industries have been for converting the different measuring systems.

3600 NM torque is about 2600 ft lbs in case anyone is wondering. I'm in Canada so it's all metric for me/us but one thing i do use is pounds for weight and feet/inches for measuring distance and height. I do know and understand kilometers and kilograms perfectly fine but I don't use it lol, never have . Also 258 MPH is 412+ km/h for you Canadians and most others around the world. Which is absolutely bonkers and amazing lol 😁👍👍

This is the definition of a production car: According to Guinness, to qualify as a production car one must build “at least 50 mechanically identical vehicles, and these vehicles must be on sale to the general public.”Apr 5, 2013 The Ford Mustang Super Cobra Jet is considered a production car as 50 are normally made for purchase. Thus, this is the fastest production car from 0-60 which is 1 second.

The comparisons are laughable. This is a company producing tech, not cars. And here they are, merging with Bugatti. Why is Tesla in the same sentence? They produce mass market cars, not hypercars. They are both electric, so what. A Ford Fiesta and Ferrari Roma are both ICE cars, but I doubt people talk about them at the same time.

They like to control the "official numbers", so much so that they've been known to blacklist owners who allow their cars to be driven by automotive journalists and/or youtubers.
By contrast, Rimac is throwing our favorite youtubers in the seat and letting them show the performance numbers freely. While breaking world records. It's a breath of fresh air.

Reason why he is doing this is because at home he was for years accused he is releasing paperware - none existing cars. Regardless of all the haters he has achieved all this from one of the worlds "shi*hole" meaning country not very friendly for innovations or entrepreneurs. That makes his achievement a lot bigger then anyone can imagine. Now everyone can see, cars do exist, they perform and big players have accepted him. Of-coarse he does need to sell and need for world to know his brand delivers - marketing. It brings customers and value to his creation. Yeah EV's are really coming into prominence now. Rimac has done a great job showcasing the performance that is possible and the styling of the car is fantastic. It even wears a tie as a nod to it's Croatian roots.
I've been to the drags and watched 10s passes from some very powerful cars built to drag race. Mid 8s is insane on a production car.

Before the discussion starts. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid is quick but not quicker. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid delivers it‘s stats being a 5 seater Sedan. But still the Rimac is the fastest. Both cater to different people, prices and markets. Rimac is a 2.4 Million Dollar Megacar with only 150 being produced and Tesla Model S Plaid is a 140k Sedan in mass production. Yes the Tesla Roadster is coming, but not before 2023 and the stats are yet to see. Competition gives us the best Products. We should be happy to have both Tesla and Rimac.

What many people may not know is that the founder of Rimac (Mate Rimac) actually used to drag race himself at 19 years of age. He did so with his very own BMW 3 series EV conversion that set several world records. And now you may see how it makes sense why he is so gracious to setup an event such as this one.
Imagine the performance numbers if this car was on slicks with the settings tuned to utilize them on the strip.

It s only a matter of where you want to put the Money; of a Little Company Like koenigsegg could make a 600hp 3cyl, 2.0lt camless 70kg engine, a big company could easily develope a 2000hp ultra efficient petrol ( maybe e-fuel) engined ultra-light Supercar that for sure could be ran faster than rimac; or even a 2 cyl 200hp citycar way lighter than a heavy battery EV. It s all about deciding what technology have to be develope.

Absolutely love this car. One thing they can improve in the future is definitely the refresh rate of the screen in the middle. It would make the user experience so much better if the screen is more responsive.

I think it is a problem of optimizing software, and Rimac have open position for Android developers etc. So i am sure they will fix it, and in fact, fixing that is the easiest part in process of creating such a monster from a scratch.

He is, I've read some interviews of his in Croatian newspapers, and I would add he is quite sensible, and forward looking too imo. Miro, the test driver, has a nice, subtle sense of humor as I remember from his interview I once read. Best description of Mate I heard was from Top Gear/Grand Tour guys, a petrol head who decided that electric cars are the best course for more speed in cars, and than he decided to follow his decision through.

For example, The Tesla Supercharger allowing you to charge your car up to *200 miles in 15 minutes.* When you are on a trip, you need at least one 15 minutes rest pause every 200 miles. What is better to spend that time in a clean silent green environment with pleasant restaurant nearby, just plug in and enjoy your rest. At home or at the office you can just plug in and charge so you *never* have to visit a station on regular days again. There are plenty oppertunities to charge without losing your time. I'm afraid with gasoline you won't have those options.

It's an outdated, flawed system that should be slowly phased out.
I'm not an math engineer but even the NASA is using metric, several of catastrophic mistakes done in NASA and other important industries have been for converting the different measuring systems.

Excellent review...one of the best presentations of a supercar I have seen. You obviously don't need a "high-end" production and filmmaking crew. 3600 NM torque is about 2600 ft lbs in case anyone is wondering. I'm in Canada so it's all metric for me/us but one thing i do use is pounds for weight and feet/inches for measuring distance and height. I do know and understand kilometers and kilograms perfectly fine but I don't use it lol, never have .
Also 258 MPH is 412+ km/h for you Canadians and most others around the world. Which is absolutely bonkers and amazing lol 😁👍👍

Will be quick, but certainly nowhere near 919 evo quick. That car's acceleration was cartoonish, and even faster than an F1 car (and therefore quite a bit faster than even the Nevera).

The comparisons are laughable. This is a company producing tech, not cars. And here they are, merging with Bugatti. Why is Tesla in the same sentence? They produce mass market cars, not hypercars. They are both electric, so what. A Ford Fiesta and Ferrari Roma are both ICE cars, but I doubt people talk about them at the same time.
