Hard fishing that time of year. Good video and nice flounder Marc. Got heatstroke in July of 1980 fishing on West Bay. Almost didn't make it, but luckily I did. I got real careful alter that episode. Again, tks for the memories!
That was fishing in the true sense of kayaking! Mark, I can only imagine what it must be like in the heat and humidly. We get a taste of it here on the Virginia coast in August, but nothing like you have to deal with on the Texas Gulf Coast. Well, at least you bagged a nice flounder that made what looked like a killer dinner, I at least enjoyed a glass of wine with you guys! Great content, take care and be safe!
Hello Mark l love the way l doing now, this is the way the normal people doing with out fancy kayaks thank you so much for share especially for person like my leave around dallas area you teach like master thank you again
Missed watching Mark. Ypu and Christian helped scratch my itch. Just spent a month taking the family to the Aegean see....talk about "cool" water. Flat out cold. These super hot days where it's a tough fishing im filling it with rod building. Fun hobby.
@@MDLRFishing my fishing was blown out for the 2 days I chartered a boat. We were able to get out the 3rd day on another boat but that was just for island hoping and beach going. I was in a few Turkish coastal towns, Lesvos Greece, and Chios Greece where there was great shallow water/wading areas. Asking the locals, they said that's not a type of fishing they do. The Gera and Kallonís Kólpos/bay on Lesvos has so many spots that looked like perfection. Scenery, gentle breeze, tons of bait, shelter for the bait fish, shallow water with access to deep water, and good water movement. I will be going back prepared.
heat wave’s been brutal no doubt and also when I went to surfside jetty the other day and walked around in the water I was also surprise by how cool it was considering the heat wave. Alas! Only caught a ladyfish😅. However it was my pb ladyfish! haha like, a twenty incher maybe. Wanted it to be a red so bad. ‘Cuz it was pulling drag and I had to crank it down two cranks to make it stop, lol. Good ‘ol poor man tarpon.
Hey Brother Mark enjoy you channel and your style fishing. Also enjoyed your watching your finals days at base and the ceremony send off they gave you. I'm also retired USMC, One thing I think you can add to your patron group. When you do your catch clean cook{ watching you and family eat....hmmmm). You may offer a tidbit recipe of what you caught/cooked??
Hi, I'm your subscriber from Russia. Tell me do you have a common feeder fishing? as far as I understood, you fish for silicone mostly. We have a 50\50 feeder, spinning, float. The day before yesterday I caught a Catfish on chicken liver. We also have a very active chub on it. Do you have such fish?
It’s been awhile since I’ve been out in the skinny water marsh chasing reds. I think it would be very beneficial to me & the other anglers out there if you made reference to how you set up your free spool & drag to to match the targeted species and conditions just as a starting point, understanding the need to adjust as the day goes on. Nobody enjoys the prospect of starting a day of fishing with a birds nest backlash, or a nice red breaking you off if your drag is too tight. Kinda takes the fun out of it.
Great vid brother. And just abit of info that I heard if true very sad but the so called top of the line yak "hobie" is no longer giving hull warranty if crack is above water line repair warranty only such a bad look if true
I gotta say I’m a bit skeptical to get out fishing in a kayak like that, I’m pretty tall, 6’3”. Sitting & casting definitely doable but standing & sight casting, I’d be afraid of losing my balance & falling out 😅
Yes!!! Basic kayak fishing!!! Love it man
Thanks
Love the content Mark!! Keep up the tight lines!
Thanks! Will do!

My wife’s in Virginia right now and says it’s pretty hot out there. Thanks for always sharing your thoughts Christine.

As long as you can catch fish from your kayak that’s all that matters 👍 thanks your support brother.
The food music and the entertainment is great . Always love catch and cooks
Thank you 🤙
Hi Mark,
Thanks for demonstrating that it’s not the kayak that catches the fish. I’m sure you heard of the acronym KISS while in the Corps.
Keep it simple stupid
Chistian almost let a nip slip....
Almost got my lil man up.

Can’t wait to start traveling and seeing sights like that.
Thanks Bro !
I have the same kayak and added a trolling motor. Yes you'll be in a puddle of water but is all fun when you get to fish out on the bay. SPI.
That’s what it’s all about 🙌
Good job, food looks scrumptious..
Thanks 🤙

I always set my drag to approximately 3 lbs for marsh fishing. I slowly increase it based on the size of the fish.
west bay?
👍
This was a great video. Shows you don't have to have a $3000 kayak to do this!
👍
