That was a beautiful trip.. Thanks for taking me on that train trip with you guys.. Great video.. I like trains a lot. Thanks for taking me on that trip.. Great video. Until I see you in the next video.Have a great rest of the night..👍🙂🙏
I love all the cool adventures you guys get up to! Stuff like this that those of us from other places would never have known about is the best. Thanks for always taking us along!
Love scenic trains. They always travel to places most of us can't go. Mostly affordable fun. Rode the Conway Central, took the cog up mt. Washington, rode the Cape Cod Central and the Essex Steam train here in CT. Did the conductor explain how the stamp they punch the tickets with is unique to him/her? Every conductor has their own image. So cool.
US Sugar is also a major polluter of South Florida. They along with the other sugar producers have absolutely destroyed Lake Okeechobee. The lake is nothing but catch-all for pollution and agricultural runoff. I recommend you visit the lake and see the quality of the water for yourself.
I went down the rabbit hole of looking up the pollution situation with Lake Okeechobee, since I wasn't aware of it previously. There is a lot of interesting information online that argues both sides of where the pollution is coming from. I don't doubt that the fertilizers are contributing to the issue. Thank you for pointing out the issue.
It’s not just the two sugar giants, but they are the largest culprits. It’s my understanding that agriculture in general is the problem. It all just dumps into the lake. That lake used to be beautiful and now it’s absolutely disgusting. Every time the water levels get too high and they have to dump water it comes out on the East West Coast of Florida and it causes massive algae blooms and red tide. It’s a real mess.
Beautiful train and scenery. Unfortunately it’s a front by big sugar to gain public approval of the environment disaster they have contributed to and continue to contribute to. Lake Okeechobee needs a huge watershed south into the Everglades. Unfortunately that is no longer possible with the complete removal by endless fields of sugar cane. Don’t even get me started on all the burning pollution. The lake is suffering. Water is routed into canals destroying estuaries and removing natural water sheds. North of the lake is a problem as well but work has been done along the Kissimmee River to repair the flood plain that filters water into the lake. Much change is needed to protect what little wild Florida is left.
Don't worry, Je'sus will soon return and this old earth is going to be burnt up. But you can have real hope of a new earth to replace the old....if you are a born again believer. Mankind has corrupted much of the whole earth and South Florida is not the only place being abused.
@@alvisjenkins1305I would like for my grand children to one day be able to enjoy some of floridas natural beauty before large corporations completely rape and pillage the land
I love how you always find OTHER cool things to do in Florida besides the theme parks.
There’s so much more to Florida than just theme parks.
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats I am here 5 years and in Fort Myers yeah his question . I need more stuff to do. I am not a theme park goer
Another great example of how you find fun activities around Florida that most people probably don’t even know about. Keep on sharing your adventures.
Thank you!
These kind of videos are great. Its important to showcase the real Florida.
Agreed. Thank you for watching.
I didnt know US Sugar had such an extensive rail network and they are still using it. Very cool.
Duude that train looks epic! i love the sound of the engine of this babe...what a beauty, that was really cool, thanks for the ride!
It was such a cool experience.
I absolutely love the jazz and swing music they play on-board... as a jazz enthusiast and a railroad enthusiast
The music very much added to the experience.
Groovy travel video. Gorgeous classic steam train. Sugar cane fields were cool. Looks like a fun trip. Like to be able to spend more time in town.
I wish I could have spent more time in the town too! They didn’t leave us more time to explore.
How awesome! I have never heard of this. And I've looked for things to do with trains in Florida. Thanks for sharing this.
It’s a really neat little train ride.

Passing all the swamps and citrus groves, wonder what Florida would look like now if Walt never visited. 🤔
Its lots of events coming together, dont forget that the downfall of Cuba pushed lots of vacationers and new residents north.
Agreed.
I think Walt has something to do with it, but the state had other drivers for folks to migrate here as well.
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats Air conditioning. :)
Nothing compared if sugar never arived
Use to drive over there to have lunch on the weekends frim the coast. Loved it. It's going the way of Sebring now.

Very cool! Actually, our conductor was on loan for the weekend from Cincinnati. We talked more about his home area.
I've been wanting to do it for a few years. My son loves steam trains, so hopefully soon we can get down there from Orlando and give it a ride.
It's a great ride. You'll both enjoy it!
I hope to do this someday. I'm on their e-mail list. Not so long ago hwy 17 was a two lane road for much of the way. Thanks for posting this video.
I’m so glad you saw this! I hope you get to ride the Sugar Express sometime too!
Subscribed! Love to see new stuff here in FL
Thank you!
Great Video, Thanks for Sharing !😊
Thank you for watching!
Fantastic definitely one thing I would like to do in Orlando has so much more to offer I need to do more local events when I'm in town next.
Definitely!
Great video. I also like trains I definitely have to do this one. I'm tired of going to Disney and the fireworks keep me up at night. Lol
It's definitely a different kind of experience than the theme parks!
Ponytails. I like it 😊❤
Thanks for watching!
I Have Done A Couple Short Trips On The Train It Is A Very Nice Ride
We are looking forward to riding again as well.
How can you buy tickets for 148 and not the diesel train?
On the Sugar Express website: sugarexpress.com/#bookings
I bet I don't eat their sugar unless it is in a item I consume.
Big sugar is so powerful.

I bet you eat their sugar every day. You are to blame too.

The pollution is unfortunate.
I bet you eat their sugar tho.
I prefer sugar cane in the land over more houses!
The pollution from that train…..
While the steam engine does contribute to pollution, the railroad actually takes 220k trucks off the roads to transport the sugarcane.
Tickets are between $85-$200
