Brightline runs 115-125 between Orlando to Cocoa. 70-80 cocoa to west palm. 50 web to Miami. Next time in fl ride it from Orlando to Miami and back sev real rail fans have done that. Be safe
"real rail fans"...what the hell is that supposed to mean??? Sounds like you've drunk (too much) of the "media Koolaid" that's been served-up with the Brightline roll-out!
My goodness! I've never seen a freight train traveling that fast before. Especially one of that length! I bet they don't get many runners at that crossing. Absolutely beautiful power, also!! Great catch. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Florida is CRAZY! There have been lots of Brightline accidents because of idiots going through active crossing gates, and it's NEVER the train's fault!
Too many 'Smart' people that have getting by with it for years, not realizing an 80 mph passenger train is slightly faster than a 40-50 mph freight train. That's okay, a great way to thin the herd.
I wish I would have stayed five more minutes. Another FEC freight came. I heard it on my scanner but I knew I couldn't get back in time due to the red lights and traffic
That crossing was a gold mine! No wonder that Florida East Coast train was booking. It had a Brightline hauling boogie right behind it! That was a lot of traffic through the day on that one track. Great job JT and Mrs. T!
One thing for sure - you don't want to mess with running a crossing around there. A 65 MPH train will pop up in no time :) FECRR uses LNG for all of their diesels. They did the conversion a few years back. It makes a derailment a lot more interesting :)
The LNG/diesel 80/20 mix set up with the "tenders" only used on the mainline thru freight GE locos, the rest of the basically all EMD fleet is still traditional diesel power. The new GEs can run straight diesel if necessary.
Danny H. and his wife did the round trip in one day, in the “upper class” and he said it was fun trip. JT-you and your wife should do it the next time you’re out this way.
This was a good one JT. That’s liquified natural gas in that tender between the two GEVO’s. Lots of Brightline action for sure, I paused the video and read that historical plack, had no idea FEC had been around since the late 1800’s. What I wouldn’t give for a day at the beach, looked beautiful, you even caught a dolphin coming up for air! Excellent video JT👍🏼😎🇺🇸
Good morning JT & fans. WOW that freight train was booking! I think that is the fastest ive seen. Brightlines go very fast as well. Great Florida catches JT. I saw the inaugural Brightline service from Orlando to Miami think it was a couple of years back. ❤😊👍
@@JawToothActually there true top speed they can achieve is 250mph, but they were told not above 125 in the open rural areas by the state of Florida. Could you imagine a train rolling past you at those speeds? I think you'd just have a blur trying to video a train going that fast!🤔]
Great video JT & Mrs. JT! Busy line there in Florida. Nice to see some fast passenger trains. Just wait to see what they look like at 125 mph especially if traffic increases and they run 2 plus 8 car formations! I thought our British express trains were fast at 125 mph but I saw some TGV trains in France a few years back and they run at 186 mph so if you blink you almost miss seeing them and the wind they cause almost blows you away. It's quite a revelation! Nice to see a bit of the Florida street scene and the beach too! Enjoy the rest of your break.
Note that first train with the red with yellow stripe engines. They run on LNG liquid natural gas. The tank is in the middle. I ran loads to and from the Jax yard with Raven which FEC bought up, much to our dismay as drivers.
I GREW UP ON CAPE COD AND THERE ARE NO TRAINS EXCEPT FOR A SIGHTSEEING TRAIN. I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH ABOUT TRAINS AND DIFFERENT PLACES. You work very hard and have to deal with the weather. Wow, those Brightline trains don't waste any time. They are flying down the tracks. Florida has awesome trains. Always exciting. Great video. Have a nice day 😊🌈
Some areas Brightline can get up to 125mph. In Vero Beach they can get up to 80mph. That is pretty fast when you consider the numerous level railway crossings. I will have a few more Florida videos soon. Thanks for watching!
Different action for sure. The power with the liquefied natural gas tender was cool. Brightline proves that passenger rail can make money putting the lie to every other metro system in the country. Great video, liked it much. Thanks JT!
I don't know when I've seen such a gorgeous empty beach before 😊. Your pets are adorable, and I wish I had half of the energy that Loki does. Absolutely a spectacular video! Thank you JT and Mrs Tooth. I love it! 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Jaw..., you already saw the new C4s FEC with the blue scheme, some C4s with the champion scheme are coming to México, I hope you see the GP40-2 430... 👍
Those FEC locomotives run on 80% Liquified Natural Gas and 20% diesel. Special built tank for LNG between the engines, certified to run next to an engine.

Classic high speed operation. Here in the UK all high speed have NO gate crossings! But then they are 150mph +
