Thank you for sharing! Great video and helpful. I don’t have any range issues with my key fob, but I do have the infamous TPMS issue so I will give this a try!
Thanks for the video totally help I just bought a used 2006 bought the new fob head GM try to program it they couldn’t do it so basically it was $165 car wash by the time I took the part back in four hours I did find your sweet spot under the antenna that was the only place at work or in the car itself so thanks so much for the help I’m going to bet that that’s exactly what it is I’ll be on it thanks again blessings
Thank you so much for the effort to share this video! Mine is 2007 i5. I do not have tpms problem. But key fob, 2 of them, are not working. Batteries changed. Didnt solved the issue. If antenna or the related connection is a problem then i should get tpms error as well, right? Can you share any other leads/ideas for my issue?
@ProjectTimeGarage it didn't work. I disconnected my battery and now again I lost all power locks and driver side window doesn't work. It takes forever for my power locks to return
Commenting to help others: 2009 H3 5.3l - key fob range was working out to about 20ft from vehicle. One day it would only work within 2 ft of vehicle with fob raised high, standing on one foot with one eye closed. Worked like that for a few weeks and then now it won’t work at all. Tried the tips from this video - didn’t fix. Ordered a new antenna from dealer - didn’t fix. Not sure what to try next.
Interesting. If you do find a fix, would you mind commenting the solution? I've heard of others who tried all the things you tried to no avail. One person said physically extending/lengthening the antenna improved theirs.
Hi Friends, Great video. I do not understand how actually disconnect (remove) antenna connector from BSM. Understood that I need to to pull it out , but it has a side lock. So should I push lock pin inside or out or? Please let me know. Do not want to use force too much.
The plastic shell can snap off easily. I removed the connector from the plastic, then carefully bent the sides of the connector inward. After that, I put it back in the plastic shell. The fix is still working by the way.
Yes I tried it just like you did and it worked well for about 8 feet only on that side with the door open as soon as I close the door and even mounted the antenna between the frame and on the outside of the plastic where you snap those little plastic pieces in once the door was shut it was back to basically touching the antenna I’m kind of at a loss on this I definitely think it has something to do with that and PS my tire monitoring system is doing the same thing but they say they only the batteries last 10 years I don’t know back to square
Yes, GREAT eye!! Actually it's the Mitsubishi Starion, which was re-badged by chrysler for the Conquest. There's a complete video on the car on my channel.
thank you very much for having the time to record your video so that we can repair the same problem again thank you very much
Hope it helps. Mine is still working.
You are awesome. Very very thorough with your explanation of everything. Thanks for sharing this awesome video.
Thanks bud!

Thanks. I'll bet your problem is exactly the same as mine. It also affected a lot of Canyon/Colorado Pickups too.
ThankYou ! I recently got an 07 that had been parked for many little problems This is one of the issues !
Good luck!
Thank you. This video demonstrated my exact problem and exactly what fixed it
Glad it helped
I’m definitely trying this when I get home!
It's been a little over 3 years now and mine is still working well.
Yes, the gentle pinch of the ground shield will help make better contact. Thanks. Some contact cleaner could or should also be used.
Good call!
Thanks for the video, I'm gonna tear into mine the next chance I get. Bet this is my problem as well
Hopefully it will fix yours too.

Not sure if you always get a TPMS error or not. You may want to get scantool on it and find out it even sees the remotes.
I found your video and been trying to look on the internet why my fob wont work. I will try the antenna and see if I can get it to work, thanks
Good luck with it! Mine is still working fine.

@@RR-43019 That's a strange one right there.
Great video thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!

What was the part number of your antenna? Mines been discontinued and cant find one anywhere
Thanks for the video. I have a 2008. Did fixing range do anything for your TPM?
Sure did, and I was surprised.
Might try to pull that whole circuitboard out to look at it as you did to see if I see anything un normal
Hopefully you will find something there. Mine was super-duper clean inside. Looked perfect.
Hi, my key range on my Toyota Avalon 2017 is poor. You think this could be the same issue?
Very possible. Not sure where Toyota locates their RKE box, but it's worth a shot.
Thank you !
Welcome!
thanks for everything
Glad to help!
Thank you for this !
My pleasure!
I think I have the same issue with my Silver-Aideaux!
Bet that'll fix it.

Mine had a very small tab that you squeeze. Don't use too much force because it will break easily.
@@ProjectTimeGarage Thank you very much. Will try and let you know. All the best.
at 13:30 on video, it showed that the antenna connector is out of the shell. Did you crush that shell open and plug it in without the shell?
The plastic shell can snap off easily. I removed the connector from the plastic, then carefully bent the sides of the connector inward. After that, I put it back in the plastic shell. The fix is still working by the way.
@@ProjectTimeGarage Thank you so much for your help. We end up cleaning the antenna connector at the box with alcohol. It's working now.
It worked Ty sir
Cool, glad it helped!
Tried connection snugged up still no luck bummer, when it was all open and exposed had about six feet, range
Did you happen to try re-routing the antenna at all? I noticed that it was pretty short and routed right up against metal.
Same problem with a 13 explorer
Maybe rerouting the antenna will improve yours like it did mine.
Thoroughly enjoyed this upload! Thumbs up and a sub from me... Stay safe... Rico ('06 Black H3)
Thanks, welcome aboard!!!
@@ProjectTimeGarage - Thank you!
Did yr tpms start working
I just found the answer ,thanks
It did. Evidently it's the same antenna?
Did it fix the TPMS issue?
It did.
👍👍👍👍👍 Awesome
Thanks 🤗
So did it fix the tpm?
Never mind I see someone else asked
Thanks for the great vid
No problem - I was actually surprised it fixed the TPM if I'm being honest.
Haven't tried it yet but I certainly will.
is that a chrysler conquest back there?
Yes, GREAT eye!! Actually it's the Mitsubishi Starion, which was re-badged by chrysler for the Conquest. There's a complete video on the car on my channel.
@@ProjectTimeGarage friend in hs had two. fun fast great looking rwd car.
@@stussels Pretty much same story for me - Friend had one in hs, wanted one ever since.
Salut
Welcome
so why are you showing an antenna with a completely different connector for a fix?
I didn't. This is the antenna and connector that were stock to the truck. I didn't add or remove anything.
Ok so he is bored
Who is bored?
