    It is sad when I see people downvote something on here...if they don't like something, they can just move on to something else. I like hand-knitting...it is a lot faster :-) Thank you for taking the time to post this. Very simple and straight to the point.

    I tried it with the chunky yarn I found on sale on Walmart - I followed your number of stitches but I’m guessing my yarn was not as thick, resulting in a smaller pillow . Nevertheless , I went back and undo the project and tried it again with 15 stitches instead of 10 and 9 rows instead on 6. It came out really beautiful ! Also, thanks for sharing the pillow filling . I ordered the same one . Like I said before , these pillows make for great Christmas gifts to friends .

    I cannot believe such a beautiful craft can be made by regular folks. I’ve always wanted to crotchet or knit but classes are so expensive at local community colleges like $50.00 plus supplies. However, I would spend my money on the yarn just to make this beautiful pillow for myself and friends and family as gifts.

I really wanted to make one of these... but I tend to take on new craft hobbies too often so before I invested in a bunch of reams I thought I would try making a little one first and see if it's something I take to. I had an old ream of yarn from some forgotten project. And I had some chopsticks.. so I used chopsticks to make a tiny one with the thin yarn. Instead of stuffing it I put a plastic Christmas ball inside without the hanger. I filled the ball with catnip. My daughters kitties love it. Now I'm going to try making a big one!🐈🧶

    You can buy a very cheap, therefore very stretchy pair of panty hose from the dollar store to stuff the fiberfill in. That way no stuffing will work it's way out from in-between the stitches. Will also prevent children from pulling stuffing out. I learned this from Old Soul Crochet.

    I love the aesthetics of your design -- it looks like a chrysanthemum. As someone who spent half my childhood raising sheep I'd like to know how you keep this from falling apart over time with such a loose weave for short fibers. On the farm we would have boiled the wool after hand knitting to lock in the stitches, which would have to required making the pillow at least twice as big to compensate for the shrinking.

      It can be washed this way: cold water in a sink/bathtub, with a little bit of laundry detergent. Place a pillow there, squeeze a few times. Change water to clean, cold and repeat the process. Squeeze all water out, place a pillow on a towel to dry. That`s all. Easy and it will still look great after it!

    How would you wash it? How do you keep the filling from peaking through the crack??

    • @BeCozi
      @BeCozi  5 років тому

      Dry cleaning is the best option. It can be washed this way: hand wash in a sink with cold water, lay flat on a towel to dry. The filling does not peak because stitches are pretty tight. Another option: a pillow insert can be used instead of filling
