Thank you! I used a filling from a craft store, you can use some from your old pillow. The amount depends on your personal preference - how hard/soft pillow you want to be.
@@tatianaphoenix8735 Depends how thick the yarn is. I am giving instructions for Merino wool which is about 2.5 inches thick. Do so me math: for a pillow of 12 inches in diameter, I start with 10 stitches with yarn of 2.5 inches thick. For a medium size pouf, about 16-18 stitches would be needed. Calculate how many stitches you will need based on the thickness of your yarn
We're all seen ball pits full of thousands of balls that kids love diving into! I want the adult version full of these pillows! I'm going to have to get to work! Thank you for your excellent tutorial ☺
Is using wool that isn't felted or spun good, or does it shed and rip to easily. I'm new to chunky knitting and confused with the different advice out there.
Hand felting is recommended: rub the wool with your hands gently,it will make it strong and prevent shedding. It is not required though, you can knit with the wool as is and then to wash a blanket following the rules: ua-cam.com/video/H76oxL7G97E/v-deo.html
Is the finished article washable? and does it shed on clothes if you sit against it, just wondering using the merino as opposed to commercial wool. thank you
Melody, 20 would be too many. One stitch of super chunky Merino wool is about 2-2.5 inches. Measure a stitch made from your yarn and adjust accordingly. Probably 14 would be good
Wow thats Stuning.. i winder how match Is that here in South Afrika if there is then im shure a fortune.. but thank you for sharing.. i was lucky to find this totorial and already shared with My Doughter.. Amazing thank you again..
Hi! I love your work, and your teaching is very clear and easy to follow. Thanks so much! Do you have any suggestions for making pillows with closures? I don't know if a zipper would be possible. I've also thought about buttons with a little hoop to secure them, but I'm still not sure. What do you think?
Adriene, Thank you! For super chunky pillow I would sugget a button(or couple) would be better than a zipper. Zipper is possible too but will be complicated.
Hello Sam, The top is closed when you tighten the stitches pulling the wool through them. Then you can make a knot with the wool attached to any knot and hide the tail inside the pillow
Hey. I'm kind of new to this and I want to make a much larger pillow than this one- maybe double this size. Will this same technique make a larger pillow?
LaDonna, sure, you can make a bigger one using the same technique: for twice of a size start with 15 stitches and use the same technique. You will need 2 -2.5 lbs of wool for a twice as big pillow.
Estou frustrada pq eu não consegui fazer esta almofada. Fiz com o Jumbo da círculo 22 metros. Poxaaaa...

How can you make this pattern into giant pouf?
Start with more stitches and use the same technique
@@BeCozi omg you wrote me back!! I love yr videos thank you!! If I'm making a foot rest how many stitches do u think I should start with?
@@tatianaphoenix8735 We always respond to messages:-) It depends on what yarn you are using and how big you want your foot rest to be

Larissa speaks many languages:-) Thank you for your comment!
Your videos are great! I have 10m or 2000g. The wool is maybe an inch or less thick. Is that enough?
Should be enough
Is the finished article washable? and does it shed on clothes if you sit against it, just wondering using the merino as opposed to commercial wool. thank you
It is not washable, dry cleaning. To stop shedding: spray with cold water from both sides, place in a dryer on lowest heat for 5-10 minutes.
Love this! If I'm using a yarn that is half the thickness of yours, should I chain 20 instead of 10?

Hi there this is a wonderful. Do you need to close the top to stop it from unravelling? Or is it secure enough? Thank you.

The top is closed when you tighten the stitches pulling the wool through them. Then you can make a knot with the wool attached to any knot and hide the tail inside the pillow
