Gear shift is a Frex Shift+. Handbrake is home made, you can buy most of the stuff from your local hardware store and make it yourself.
In that video, both the Frex Shift+ and handbrake are connected to a G25 shifter which is connected to the PC via a Bodnar standalone shifter interface.
Handbrake is home made. Shifter is "Frex Shift+" which you can buy from Frex. Google "frex gp"

Great setup man. I agree with the others, Colin McRae Rally was the best! Pity we can't get a good rally game anymore. Dirt now has some nice.graphics and ok handling, but who on earth wants to race a truck! I want to RALLY!!
You can change the settings on most of the driving sims out there so they turn like real "cars", but most real "race cars" steering racks go a little more than 180 degrees so you don't end up taking your hands off the wheel to turn them from full left to full right. It's not practical to try and catch the car going into oversteer by putting in a full turn and a half, you'll already be behind, playing catch up with the oversteer.

Lots of them can. The one in the video can do 1080 degrees, 3 full turns but I'm only using it at 540 degrees, ie. 1.5 turns.

You are holding the wheel incorrectly. You cannot cross your hands while turning.

Sounds like you just learned to drive. When doing your driving test, I suggest you don't cross your arms. In real life, it depends on what works best for you. cardriving.com.au/9.htm

You can cross your hands if the turn is such that you won't need to move your hands further on the wheel and a "crossing hand" steering wheel turn would be enough. Especially on more loose surface. If the turn is tighter than you should be chaning your grip in advance.

raceBOARD-S and it works with RBR as well as many other games. Just search for that in Google. It's made in Poland.

You should check out WRC 3, it's like the old Colin McRae series but with good graphics and lots of handbrake turns. There is even a mod on PC now which makes it a lot harder, a bit like RBR.
No you can't. I am using a standalone usb adapter from Leo Bodnar to connect the G27 shifter to the PC. My handbrake and Frex sequential shifter are connected to the G27 shifter Chillicoke style.

This is the advantage of the simulation to work its steering and for example a pilot should do a race car with an English cause it may change its controls for changing sides.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your T500RS steering degrees setting? I normally play all my sims at 1080 but RBR seems a bit slow to go from lock to lock if I move it 180 each way?
Did you modify the steering ratio at all?
For RBR, I normally just set to 540 degrees in the Thrustmaster Control Panel. Then set it back to 900 or 1080 for other games.

My subjective impression is the T500 is better than the G27. For iRacing, I feel it's much better; the tracks are smooth and you can feel the car better. For other games, I find it's better but not "much" better. Surprising, for RBR, I find the T500 feels muted, whereas the jerkiness and rat tat tat feel of the G27 adds to the immersion especially on gravel roads.
I can't comment on Fanatec as I've never tried one.

I know. How ironic! *sigh* but RBR is a good game. Can't say the same about the Dirt series. I did loved all the CMR games though.

If you have an iOS (ipod, iphone, ipad) or Android device, there are quite a few dashboards you can download for only a few dollars. What game do you want to use it for? The only one I know that supports RBR is Takatec Sim Monitor which you can run on a separate screen (eg. iOS or Android) via iDisplay or similar app.
You can use a car tachometer. Look up "SymProjects Rev Burner" but by the time you get that and the tachometer (unless you have one already) it'll probably cost $100.

SymProjects Rev Burner is what you need for the PC. I don't know of any PS3 games that output telemetry data so I don't think you can do that for the PS3.
hi, i saw your awesome cockpit. i have one question how did you connect your handbrake on your t500? only a usb connector or i have to open it and connect wirings?

Ha, the t500rs accelerator pedal sucks! My spring snapped and i had to remove my clutch pedal and accelerator pedal to swap springs. I now run without a clutch pedals and a lot more feel in the accelerator pedal. Highly recommend doing this!!
Hmm..540 is what I normally have it on but I can't be sure what it was in that video. Other settings in RBR are untouched except for FFB abt 3/4 way.
2 things I've found that are potential issues
- The fan occasionally gets loud but goes back to normal afterwards. Doesn't bother me.
- The wheel can become loose because of 4 little screws. I just applied some Loctite 243 (medium strength one) and I've not had any issues since. Another way to fix it is as per video "Thrustmaster T500RS Loose Wheel Permanent Fix" but that looks a bit hard.

Thanks! I think some sort of deer. Funny thing is on a single monitor, it's white, in triple screen it's black. Strange.
What steering settings do you use? I found setting 540° in my wheel software (logitech) and turning the in game filters off (for 1:1 linearity) made it feel amazing. It might be the triple screen creating an optical illusion but it looks like youre putting alot of steering input in for a fairly small response from the car. Nice vid though.

Gearstick is a Frex Shift+, just with a different knob. Handbrake, I made myself.
Im trying to buy the Frex Shift+ , did you have any problems with delivery? Why am I not seeing it alot in your videos?
No problems with delivery. Not in many videos because I'm old school, prefer to drive H-pattern cars and also I preferred my Selespeed shifter over it. www.yipzone.com/simracing/selespeed
However, these days, I'm too lazy, I just use the Fanatec Clubsport Shifter which can do both H-pattern and sequential by just sliding. Actually haven't driven for a while but will be back soon!

Ive got another question for you , when you ordered , how mich time did you wait for the delivery confirmation e-mail? (Mail that tells you that your packagr is being delivered)
Have you paid yet? If not, check your Paypal account. I didn't receive an email with the invoice amount although he said he sent it but I checked my Paypal and there was an invoice there. I think it was within a week after payment was made before it was sent.

Love it too , hope I don't get too freaked by the "plugging the shifter" step , with the Frex Controller and stuff ! :) But what a bummer , as I'm writing this , my RBR keeps flickering in Full Screen , can't stay like this to welcome my Frex :D

hello, i'use a t500rs too with a th8rs and no problem in rbr but if i connect the leobodnar usb adapter G27 to the pc, it's impossible to configure on rbr... i have a conflict.. maybe you can help me?

Hi there. Setting up triple screen is easy, just edit RichardBurnsRally.ini and set the XRes and YRes values. However, it then looks really bad. So bad, I didn't play the game for a whole year after installing. My loss. The answer is getting to grips with CamHack. I've updated the video description with link on how to use CamHack. Is this for the G27 pedals or shifter? If it's the pedals, you might need to invert the axis. You do this by editing input.ini. Change to "true" for throttle, brake and clutch.
If you are having issues with the shifter adapter, then maybe there are too many controllers and you will need to remove one.

But can you explain how to enable the FFB? Im also using a Thrustmaster T 500RS with FFB set to max ingame and in the driver settings. That doesnt do the trick :(
