Probably your best guide yet. A few notes:
1. Don't apologize for pausing often and over-analyzing your decision process, it's a big part of what makes the guide useful, and it's essential to improve.
2. Being flexible in regard to the build and its adaptation depending on the map, opponent's build etc is a huge plus. Too often I've tried a build from a guide only to get destroyed by a non-standard build/move from the opponent. As a M3 scrub I'll definitely make the banshee every time since roach timings are so common at this MMR range.
3. I'd agree that your version of the build without the 5th gas and the early 4th is superior, but again it's still useful to mention the Korean alternative and explain its pros and cons vs your version of the build.
4. The advice regarding positioning before the fight is incredibly helpful and something I also didn't properly understand, but it made total sense with the example at the end. Focusing on common misconceptions is an excellent way to get people to actually improve.
5. I now feel secure with my dirty secret of F2+stiming anytime I smell blood in the water.
I'm gonna smash some zerg windows now.
Probably your best comment yet. A few notes:
1. Don't worry about seeming longwinded; channels need informed opinions, from subscribers who actually watch and enjoy their content, it's a big part to growing the channel and it's essential for constant improvement.
2. Being receptive in regard to the information provided and its implementation depending on the length of the video and the quality of the audio is a huge plus. Too often channels don't provide enough visual/audio stimulus only for the viewer to tab out and watch another video. As a new viewer I'll definitely make a note to come back to this channels uploads in the future.
3. I'd agree that this version of analysis post-game, without the stress of entertaining a live audience, allows for more introspection, but again it's still useful to listen to the Live alternative and explain in the moment decisions and analysis.
4. The advice regarding the channel's video and what was done correctly, improves the channel's understanding of how well future videos will be received. Focusing on common improvements is an excellent way to get people to actually watch.
5. I now feel secure scrolling down to the comments section after the video to be greeted by grade A commentors such as yourself.
I'm gonna subscribe now.
Thank you @@xaviers9948, very cool!
@@xaviers9948 Probably your best comment on a comment yet. A few notes:

All this educational content is amazing! You're doing a fantastic job uThermal!
This guide is GREAT. ESPECIALLY the concave behind the tank idea is just fascinating to say the least! Really learning a lot from your vids man keep up the good work!
its only been like a month since the first upload but I cant even imagine a life without these guides.
Hunor Lakatos same here
I am curious how many new challenge watchers go back and see the educational videos
Anyway I absolutely love how this channel blow out and insane speed of new subscriptions
Please stop using Ed Sheeran in your thumbnails.
Uthermal at 11minutes: "okay so we're gonna start 3/3"
Me at 11minutes: "I should be maxed out right now shouldnt I?"
i was already doing pretty much same opening, but feels great seeing a pro actually explain everything and give more insides of the build order, thanks marc
Very good guide, it is the best we can find at the present time, thank you for all these very clear explanations and the reason why you make this choice or an other one
That build have changed my Terran life. Many thanks and respect!
These guides are awesome, please keep them coming!
I have literally not lost to zerg in 1.5 weeks now since this build. From 40 to 70% tvz :D at 4.1k
I can’t believe it! Two educational videos in one week. The Terran deliverance is here!
23:24 f2's a helluva drug. Nice guide btw!
Very nice video I love the way you explain keep up the good work! :D
just watched this today, it's so informative, thank you good sir.:)
I have a great winrate against zerg now in my MMR range (D1 - 78%) due to your guides and I'm looking forward to adding this one. This is brilliant and I like the look of this style a lot. I noticed I need to be more aggressive and this looks like a great build to help me with that.
With your comments on positioning before fights against ling bane, I wonder how it differs when it's ling hydra bane if at all?
I wish my winrate versus protoss was better. When I get the chance to execute your build without some funky stuff from the protoss I stomp and it doesn't feel like a contest. Or I do enough damage that when I have 2-2 I already have enough vikings or ghosts to deal with their army. But if it's not blink stalker expand and I can't push out before their third is set up then by the midgame I find I'm a little behind and it snowballs from there really quickly.
The brick is the most powerful weapon in the galaxy
Wow! Thanks man for your lessons. You're a good teacher, you should stream more
awesome build order, gracias :3
Sick tutorial much appreciated!
huge fan of your game! been following you and all other top tear players for years now! just wish i could play this game like the way you guys do! solid tutorial! cheers!
NOTE: if you could also add the build order in detail it would be really helpful, at least for me! thx
Great vid. Could you show us how to 2 rax reaper? You showed us how to counter proxy reaper with it but not how to normally use the build. Your insight on the ability to defensively pressure would be interesting.
Hi uThermal! TY for the guides, they've been so helpful in mix and matching strategies!
Question though similar to the muta one - if zerg instead decides to mass muta and less on baneling (I'm in that MMR), and dives in on my bases, is it better to get a thor or still mines + marines + turrents should do? I like thors but they're slow and reduces my tank count.
My fear is I'd have to go back to defend, or end up with a base race.
PS. Please keep overanalyzing because its the content we're looking for! :)
Thors and with the tech lab you get drilling claws. Double factory marine should do fine!
Thats a fast push, nice. Worked a couple of times if I dont forget to scout^^ I love the feeling when you reach an advantage against zerg and just start to parade the reinforcements over the map.
How about making defensive bunkers like at the 4th base? When I push they often have those 10-12 lings, or is this build so aggresive they can't do that? Awesome video 12/10
Woa, i didnt know uThermal had a channel, fresh sub over here :D im zerg main dou
Could you make a guide for 2rax expand in TvT? like if you see 2 gas how many reapers do you make what is the followup etc. what against reaper fe etc would really appreciate since your guides are so amazing!
This has the potential to become a great series, if it already isn’t!
ty uthermal
Love this content
Thanks for the content Thermy, the tip on how to execute the push is really useful! It seems kinda like you play marine tank (at least in this 8rax semi-allin) the way most people play bio mine, big presplits but the factory units are expendable, is that correct?
If I'm understanding then, with a 1fact tank midgame, you just want to force the zerg to engage through a "tank field" (like a mine field), and the tanks exert slightly more pressure than mines pre-fight because of their range? Is that a good way of understanding the concept behind how to take the engagement? This differs from a 2 fact tank midgame since with 2 facts, the tanks become the major dps dealers?
Tanks are mostly there to force zergs to split and lower the baneling count before they get to your marines. With double factory tank you play a very slow style and you leapfrog/try to hold a certain position opposed to this bulldozer kill the zerg fast style :P
@@uThermal Thanks so much for the response, that makes sense! And thanks again for the video. I second the top commenter's sentiment, don't apologize for over-analyzing, your (correct) analysis as a top Terran is what sets your videos apart from other content producers, you shouldn't feel shy about leaning on it!
These thumbnails are terrific
I like having two factories making siege tanks. Better to sacrifice barracks number or scv/4th base for that?
Love your content, you are literally my father
Dank thumbnail
Incredible commentary. Makes me wanna switch to terran
Hey thank you for the build :)
How do you react if it's 3 bases with relatively fast mutas ? do you stay home / add factory / try to push in ?
The same, but pushing early with the 1/1 might be a little bit risky. Also I'd recommend never dropping with more than 1 medivac vs mutas, 1 medivac drops are really good because you can pull the mutas back for little investment.
uThermal thanks for the guides, really usefull, hopefully i can make it to GM soon
Well... that request more then 10 IQ
uthermal youre awesome man
I'm picking SC2 back up after a long time and I was never great at getting multiple build order seamlessly into my playbook. At lower MMR would you feel comfortable running this against 'toss as well?
The composition in the end could work, but the opening with 3cc and hellions is definitely too risky :P
Any off the cuff recommendations for how to adjust the early game for the different matchups with the same end goal, or just a way to turtle until you're ready to push? I'm wood tier so I'm not expecting a lot of tricky play outside of cheesy all-ins
Great video! I actually have been playing a similiar style, but with your video I realized that I was doing some things wrong. I'd also like to hear your opinion on switching to mines sooner, in this case you kept tank production for a long time, if I'm up against ling bane muta, maybe adding another factory after the 1-1 push, maybe taking the 5th/6th gas for the widow mine thor production. What do you think?
If you want to switch to mines you have to decide faster and get your 5th gas pretty much right away after landing your third
@@uThermal thanks!
With the new meta zergs are now going heavy roach ravager hydra into lurkers, do you have a standard build to beat thse?
Thanks for this content! How do I know the timings of hatch first or not?
If your scv arrives the hatch should be either just finished or like 1 second away from finishing for a hatch first
It should look like it did in the video for his scout with both the scv and the reaper. You can tell by the reaper based on the amount of creep there (theres little or no creep for the reaper too see depending on how early, incase you just reaper scout)
THANK U THERMYY
So this is why Terran has suddenly be so aggressive. I’ll keep to my fast hydra/lurker/bane build.
nice video man! please do more for other maps :)
I need to learn more about bio... I tend to always go heavy mech with no early game at all...
do you think it's worth to cut +1 for tanks like INno usually does?
Probably not
Another Egg Sheeran master class.
I love Terran school
what a god
How do you destroy Serral consistently?
This build order looks great, is there some safe macro opening for TvT for those noobs who can't really harrass with banshees or ravens that much ?
Raven/viking 3cc is good off a 1-1-1
did u do this build against serral when he was playing ladder the other day?
When he was streaming yeah :P
@@uThermal COOL ,THXS!
@@uThermal this one? ua-cam.com/video/Ym0dFojNYEo/v-deo.html
No aplica para diamantes 1 o Masters 1?
how come that all dutchmen make great SC2 content? :D
What to do vs mutas in this build?
1. How do you react when you see pool first with scv? Im not sure what do to against it and often lose to a follow up attack (roach/ravager/ling).
2. How to react when protoss is gas stealing in the beginning of the game?
3. How to counter proxy hatch? I lost to a proxy hatch in my base, was so confused I didnt know what to do :D
Keep the reaper home so you cant get your natural delayed by lings, get a cyclone to deny overlord highground vision, bunker or two reactored marines be ready to pull svcs to repair. Depends alot on exactly what it is tbh and how committed it is.
2. Start a gas on your nat that lines up with your nat cc finishing. I think like 25 supply or so would be good, havent tested that alot (ur nat finishes at 27 W/ standard 16/16)
3. You can pull scvs to kill it, it can be a fake so you pull scvs and lose eco, or it can be to make roaches and queens from it, you can tell by what you scout. If theres no nat and an early pool/roach warren its an all in and has to die
nice.
May you explain how to play against pure ling bane? It has troubled me a lot recently. I am a Master 1 player NA trying to get to GM.
He said keep the tanks at home for defense, heavy drop and get a quicker 4th in the video. Probably gonna want a 5th gas and second factory fast too and go lategame
Consistently :DDDDD
Terran 101
MadMarC, reminds me of your early toss days in 2010 ;) you were quite Mad!!!
I always say this..... Stim and win.
what's up boy's!
He doesnt focus on killing creep, is that normal?
So this tutorial showed me that all other tutorials kinda suck
hah,i remember the super super fast 3cc variation of this. the one that you and innovation used on thunderbird at homesory cup,and if i remember correctly you both got serral with it
i instantly copied it back then and still go for it time to time, altough that variation doesn't rly fit the map pool anymore
what do you think about 3cc 2-1-1 tho? i went back to it,and it's been amazing at the 5.5k level, but i dont see any pros using it anymore so it must have its downsides,do you know what it is?
i find it great because it has different variations,4 hellion 16 marine attack,or you can even go 4 hellbat 16 marine,or the most extreme version i came up with is 4 hellbat 4 wm 24 marine attack/drop(it seriously halts the production and upgrades,so its kind of a 3 base all in)
mhh Pizza
I only have 9 IQ sadly, is there a guide for 9 IQ Terrans??
(I proxy 4 tax to Diamond 1)
I am finding this so hard to do as a new player haha :(
what are your graphic settings?
Low I think, with team colors enabled
F2 A move FTW?
Why is there Ed Sheeran with a brick on his shoulder on the thumbnail
I'll have to play around with the 1 gas after engi bays. It probably slows down you 2-2 a small bit?
Pretty sure thats why he cuts those medivacs for a bit, but the 1-1 timing will be stronger and your army will always be abit bigger so I like it
I'm terran too
protoss can do the same thing but stim not required.
Can this build be effective with a quick cc opener?
Just 10 iq Required hahaha
I like to send a couple of SCV's with the little rap hellions.
any reason to play on low graphic ?
less distracting effects on the screen
Higher graphics can kill fps and be harder to see invis units
Stim + A + Move = +42 that is hilarious :D
Oh my god, how can I use 1 extra IQ?
This is really useful if you're playing Zerg too... So I like it. (then again, I'm a filthy random player, who don't know how to do bioterran, so...)
How does Zerg beat Terran consistently? :(
Hey does serral have a channel? I cant find it
glad to see non fornite youtbers in my recommended, subbed for the fun of it oh and also the smurf hand too aka like button for the non memers
As a zerg player I feel triggered.
U look much better and cooler than heromarine(not sure about skill) Nice thumbnail too. Playing 2 rax medivac drop, losing a lot but thats all i can. Tried some mech related build, some..thor and hellbat push after banshee, i cant.:(
Why Ed Sheeran makes Starcraft 2 guides ?
You looks and sound older compare to your recent videos
Hey uThermal! Quick question from a zerg player here: Why are you the way that you are? Honestly, every time I try to do something fun, or exciting on the ladder, this guide will make it not that way. I hate so much about this guide you chose to make.
:(
@@uThermal I suppose if you 3-0 Zest again, the glaive adept monster who haunts zerg dreams, all will be forgiven.
Poor Risky getting a beating just cause Thermy wanted to film a guide.
I ama a zerg scumbag
1.5 speed works best for this vid.
Whatever man I get roached all the time
