Two quick Questions: 1.) Is there a reason you dont put any addons on the starports? I feel like reactors would help so much with a quick air switch and maybe later on where there might be more tech switches. 2.) You don't seem to be using any sensor towers. Is that because you are so confident the one tank at each base would be enough to denie any hellion runby? Don't you feel like spotting them early on would still help a lot?
You should get addons on the starports usually, sometimes I feel like im winning a game and I just need some vikings/libs quick to get the job done so thats why :P.
For the second question I don't think sensor towers help against hellions, if you see them and your units are not nearby the hellions will get in anyway. Sensor towers are better for mech players because they actually might have to quickly respond to attacks/drops (You do make sensor towers in ultra lategame though when its just skyterran vs skyterran usually)

Yep, dont need any more really. Maybe if you accidentally throw away all your tanks early on you could consider making a second factory

Video suggestion - would it make sense to make a video about terran defense?
I have tried to play aggressive/preemptive by mustering drops & generally harassing as fast as possible. This has taken me all the way up to the silver leagues (impressive, I know).
I am now thinking I should try to play some mostly defensive games and try to learn something new that way. Does it make sense to make one or more videos about defending your bases in general?
I am thinking about doing some super basic videos in the future, maybe those could help :P

Hey, good stuff. I have one question : your drops did a huge amount of damage in this game, but what do you actually do if the mech player builds like 4 turrets every base ? Do you still yolo your medivacs ? Do you just move around ?
I always struggled against mech, and usually they build a LOT of turrets and it gives me headaches.

Unsure, but 4 turrets on every best is kind of turtling. And the answer to turtling is usually to take more bases and build more stuff. Imho
Do you do anything different versus cyclone battle mech openers? It seems really difficult to push out on the map and take map control when they have mag field cyclones at my base they threaten with banshees as well.

How about againts turtle mech + BC? I did prevent opponent bases a lot but at some point after I destroyed most of opponent’s ground army and switch to air unit and still my vikings number are not enough againts mass BC + few raven
Oh and I still kept handfull of bio roaming around to prevent expand but BCs could teleport.
And sometimes its just me feeling stressful playing 25+ mins game againts turtle mech xD
I just did this and it worked really well second try, thanks! (the first try i blundered the bio into siege tanks while trying to posture and macro at the same time)

Thermy can you make a guide on how to micro and army move against toss? I feel that I always get stomped because I'm wrongly positioned or don't have the required army control.
I agree. I always find myself dying to storms and disruptor balls once the mid game starts.
Guys, I've had this problem for a while, and just replacing marines by 80% marauders and adding like 8 ghosts with boosted EMPs changed my PvT forever
Gaspard Petitclair I have been going more marauder heavy, but that doesn’t help with disruptor balls. I can’t split for the life of me.
@@ryanchen4886 Tbh you should probably just practice your splits. But have you tried raven with interference matrix vs disrupters? Similar to how uThermal used interference matrix to counter mass tanks.

Do you get more orbitals than normal if you are playing against mech? Ist it because of the defensive tank?
If a mech player sieges in range of your planetary its dead anyway, against bio you want planetaries to deal with marine drops and runbies :P
How to beat mech with bio?
Uthermal : build viking tank and raven with 10 marine and call it bio.

it's kinda crazy how top tier terrans go 2engi bays before their 2nd and 3rd rax. i can never hold pushes or all ins when i follow that build order

I play mech often but against Terran It's extremely risky to go pure mech.. it's often waay more important to have the right unit than a upgraded one.. TvT I just go for the full package.. marines tanks vikings atleast 1 raven and usually 2 or more liberator's depending on how many tanks they have... In the rare occasion that they go full battlecruiser.. I'll whip out Thor's widow mines and vikings

great guide, but you seem to stay on 1 factory for the whole game, is that actually meta? because I've going 5 rax 1 factory into 5 rax 2 factory and only then into 8 rax 2 factories against both bio or mech. can it be considered as a mistake or just off-meta/outdated style to play?
Making multiple factories while playing against mech is very uncommon, don't know if its necessarily a bad play though

What about defending vs 4 gate zealot?Hitting like 3:30 I cant find anything for it. It seems I can't do enough damage to stop them from killing wall. And sometimes due to the barrack direction my reactor is building so the zealots can hit it
Personally I suggest making widow mines right when your first factory is finished (no add-on) and you can use them to drop in the opponents minerals or use them to defend. Sometimes, they are a terran's only hope against zealots
I keep meeting people on the ladder going pure siege tank + viking. How do I deal with this? Am I supposed to just beat them on the ground with good bio splitting / positioning? I always just get obliterated by their tanks even if I have so much more supply.
Siege tank viking is regular mech, thats what the video is about pretty much xD

Why do you prefer the Auto-turrets to the disables against the tanks?
I feel like in this game I couldve cleaned up his entire army with just auto turrets without having to use any of my other units

Could the raven-marine style be used against Terran Bio, Protoss, or Zerg? Or is it only good vs Terran Mech?
Mech only, the whole point of the raven spam is to spam interference matrix
@@alonshani6252 True, but Protoss needs splash damage against bio and interference matrix could be good vs disrupters, colossi and archons. Not so great vs templar but ghosts are the counter to those. So why isn't raven-ghost-bio a common composition in pro games? There must be some reason it isn't standard that I'm missing.

uwuthermal i got bopped by mech so I came and watched this video. Played a new mech player, was bopping him thanks to this video, then this man pulls out high impact thors and destroys my liberators. What am I supposed to do when the opponent gets up thors like that? After the game I thought ravens for disabling the thors since I would already have air control, but not sure what is best. thank u chap
Ok so this is probably the HIGHEST request at the moment: How to 2 base all in protoss against BATTERY OVERCHARGE.
I can't offer insane top-tier advice, but my advice is to snipe the overcharged battery when you get the chance, and to not engage his army in range of the battery unless his army is significantly weaker. Keep your libs and mines sieged back, etc.

Somehow when I tried this the enemy has so many thors and my libs always get demolished from a mile away. I'm missing some finnesse in setting up lib/tank vs thors I guess.
If you play against a lot of thors just try to make more and more libs, libs destroy thors in high numbers especially because of the supply cost difference

3 or 4 medivacs full of bio, 1 full medivac is 10 supply

Mech is just too weak unfortunately, protoss has an answer to all styles of mech. You can win if the toss doesn't know how to respond, but it will feel hopeless if they do

Uthermal and Clem both play for teamliquid. I imagine they practice against each other quite often.
Do terrans ever win in Europe? I literally see zergs play like shit and still win games where the terran doesnt make any big mistakes. Unless your maru ty or innovation terran just seems to get clobbered.
