Thank you so very much for all the ongoing explanation on what brush you are using, the blending of paints, the minute changes in your layering. You're doing a fantastic job!
I love this bird! I have been listening to conversations about acrylic paints lately. I was not aware that there are so many kinds of acrylic paint. The next time I buy paint I will be aware of the variety of the paint. Maybe I will try something new.
I can't wait to watch this over the upcoming weekend! If I can do this and it comes out half that beautiful I will be elated. I can draw pretty good but I never color my drawings except with color pencils sometime. I planned to take lessons in all media when I retired but my plans went sour when I had to take care of my Mom who is now 90. If I can watch a bit here, a bit there and then try it....maybe just maybe I can achieve one retirement goal. Thanks.
Lisa, have you tried Liquitex Basics Fluid Acrylic Paints yet? I love them. They are just like the basics. The colors and the satin finish are the same, only they are fluid and so nice to work with. They're cheaper than Golden too. Thank you for this wonderful lesson, it's beautiful.
Wow I saw one of your videos, and now I cannot stop watching! Your explanations are so easy to understand even for non english mother language. How long do you wait before finishing your painting with glossy varnish? Thank you 😊
For the tracing paper, you just tape it to whatever you want to trace. It's fairly transparent so you can see through that paper. You can trace from a non touch screen computer monitor if you use a light hand, or trace something you printed out (like a photo you took or a reference photo from unsplash/pixabay etc). Then you just do what I showed in this video, tape it to your canvas and slide the transfer paper under it, then trace over it again so the transfer paper leaves the marks on the canvas :)
I actually encourage students to trace the photograph, not another artists tracings. This is going to help you to improve your work faster and be more accurate in your drawing skills :)
That background is only appealing to us because we're used to blurred backgrounds in videos. A person from the 18th century would prob. find this effect bizarre! Just saying....
@@Lachri I think you misunderstood my intention. I meant no criticism at all, only expressing a thought that occurred to me, and observing how people's tastes and outlooks are influenced by their times!
Excellent work again, but greatful that you have put a full painting tutorial up on UA-cam, you actually don't get to many nowadays, thanks
Thank you so much 😀

Glad it was helpful!
Watching this while I paint some things, love the tips and paint along format!

Thanks! Liquitex basics are by far my favorite but there are a lot of great brands depending on the look you're going for!

Please share your finished painting! I would love to see it!
I can handle watercolor and oil but find acrylic paint a challenge. Your videos really inspire me to try harder
Try that fine mist sprayer. It's a game changer allowing you to blend wet into wet in a way that would be VERY hard without it!
Love Chickadees! I'm gonna have to try this one😍
Can't wait to purchase your lessons Feb. 1st
YAY!! :D
Great as always! Thank you Lisa 😊

I've not! I need to look into those!

Thank you so much 😀
I like the back round
amazing! I really love the color-combination 🥰👍
Thank you! 🤗
Beautiful!!! Thank you
Amazing, it’s really beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Thank you !!
Does dry brushing with acrylics look terrible on gessoed canvases also?
The smoother the canvas, the smoother the dry brushing will look. Being gessoed doesn't always mean smooth. Even high tooth canvases are gessoed :)
I can’t find the printable transfer for this on your link, can or would you help me?
I need help with tracing paper and transfer paper. Your artwork is absolutely fabulous
What do you need help with?
@@LachriI know this may sound strange but I never used tracing paper. Therefore I don't know how to use it. Nor do I know how to use transfer paper.

@@Lachri Thank you so much. You are very kind May God bless you and your family. I really appreciate your help.
Hi, im new to your youtube channel, i love your style. But not a good drawer, lol. Do you have tracables to your paintings? Thank you

Or it's appealing because it's actually quite pretty LOL. Lucky for me there isn't a single person around from the 18th century to judge me.

Ah yeah, that is the case for sure!! It's really interesting to look at art throughout history and how it evolved.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your beautiful art with us. ❤😊
Thank you 😀
